Anime-Jazz Jackrabbit -DKC-Sonic-Majora's Mask? Pretty neat. The stage and background art is phenomenal and any DKC-style platforming is instantly great. Collecting letters in each stage is really fun for some reason. Love the review! Details without spoilers. Thanks!
Adding any sort of collectables in platformers just adds to my enjoyment of them, most of my deaths in this game was from going out of my way to find them
This is cute as hell! Platformers rarely draw me in nowadays but this might actually be worth a look. The price is a tad too steep at the moment, though.
This game is fantastic. I got it on release and was not disappointed. It feels like a mix of DK country, ray man and sonic. It is challenging. But a fun kind of challenge. Precision plate forming level of challenge. The music is awesome. The controls and visuals are awesome. If you have a love of any of the games influences you should pick this one up. Thanks for the review guys.
Thank you for the review Glen and David. Nintendo refuses to make another DK game so I'm glad someone else did. I didn't think this game would do so well when I first saw it but now I feel I must try it.
Definitely going for the Physical edition as it's cheaper and I get the lovely box art too, don't mind waiting to May as gives me a moth to work on the backlog from the indie sale.
This game caught my eye when it was first announced. I'm glad to see it's a fun game. Might pick it up in a sale later on. I am in the middle of Monster Hunter Rise and will have little time for anything else.
There you go! THIS! This right there, is the game that you have to buy in the place of Banal Wonderflop. I knew the game looked good when I got introduced to it in the beginning of March. Rayman + Donkey Kong Country + a cute rabbit = this game Buy it, it's the third of the price of Yuji Naka's recent disappointment and has lots of content to enjoy in it.
WOW I'M SHOCKED! At first I was thinking this game was gonna be kind of obnoxious, but it looks very good and has lots of nostalgic vibes while still having it's own personality. Adding another one to the list. Oh and $30 price ain't bad either.
This game is CLEARLY a labour of love, I'm comin over all nostalgic just looking at it...respect But it's got some stiff opposition on Switch, especially with Rayman on sale so often! Definitely on the watch-list...
If you're looking for Sonic with a rabbit, then something like that has already happened many years ago. It's called Jazz Jackrabbit and was released exclusively on PC via MS-DOS on floppy disk and later CDrom. It also had a sequel 4 years later on Windows, a cancelled 3D game and a GBA spinoff (but we don't talk about that one).
@@SwitchUpYt If you want to get it, your best option would be on GOG.com, which also has the sequel along with the Christmas special. The first one is based on the CDrom version, which includes 3 bonus episodes and both Holiday Hare specials, one from 94 and the other from 95. Yeah, I forgot to mention the original was made in 1994.
@@FelixS. I only brought it up, because he was expecting Sonic with a rabbit. I personally see this taking inspiration from Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, with the use of masks that come with animal abilities.
@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Yeah I see where you are coming from. But in fact the masks resemble the animal buddies/mechanics from DKC almost 1:1. Especially the bird is basically a reskin of Squawks. The shark is the swimming mechanics of DKC Tropical Freeze. The auto run transformation (forgot which animal it is in Kaze) represents the mine cart levels and so on. Thematically they can remind you of Wonder Boy III (which is also a great game!) but in terms of inspiration they are clearly taken from the DKC series. I think the devs themselves stated this to be a hommage of the Donkey Kong Country franchise :)
This one has NOSTALGIA written all over it for me. Not only was I getting those Donkey Kong Country 2 vibes but does anyone else remember the original Tiny Toon Adventures game way back on the NES?? If not then go check that one out and tell me this is not the modern day version. I can definitely see myself enjoying this title!!!

Watched this after Balan Wonderland review and this is the game Yuji could have made, Sadly Yuji hasn't been that great in a long long time. Congrats to the devs on this one. This captures the old school feel and magic for older and younger generations alike. I hope this franchise does well, continues, and I look to pick it up myself in the near future.
Yuji was never great. He is a character designer first and foremost. The first three Sonic games as well as Adventure 1 and 2 are ok. Not great but ok. Sonic is iconic as a character but about 50% of the franchises entries are crap. And Balan is a desaster.
@@FelixS. What are you talking about? Sonic 2 and 3 & Knuckles are DEFINITELY iconic games because they actually show their excellence.
