Grand Cherokee OWNERS: How I fixed my fog light gremlins

- My passenger side fog light went out and in this video, I talk about the issue, troubleshoot what went wrong, and fix it. This is a unique scenario since my fog lights are HID which is uncommon because I installed them so there's a couple things that can go wrong on each side. However, this video can be useful to others who also run into issues with their fog lights or want to upgrade their lights but don't know how, just apply what what was in this video to remedy the situation.

Wow I was looking into changing the color of my lights so my foglights could be HID also ?? Wow that's new to me.. I knew headlights are but not foglights.. learned something new ✨️
I have the fog lights drop out mod (I used an app like AlfaOBD to make this change) so the fogs never turned off when the high beams turned on. This keeps the fogs on at all times. This is important because HIDs don't like to go on and off over and over again. If I were to do it again, I'd skip HID and go with a good quality LED set, like Sylvania Xevo.
Your lower facia comes right off with the 5 other twist lock fasteners and you could have had so much access.

Hey man, have been wanting to replace my chrome trim along my fog lights with some nice matte black, what would you recommend is the best way to go about getting the fog light trim out? I tried earlier today and was prying and pulling but did not want to break anything. Thanks!
Your best bet is lasfit led fog light bulbs they last a very long time and look just like hid’s if not better and it’s only one wire that plugs directly into you factory harness
At the time when I put the HID's in, the LED's were all crap. The alignment of the LED chips were too spread out and the beam just wasn't clear and bright because the focus was real bad. Since, they have made great improvements on LEDs now so if these take a crap again, I will check out and probably move towards LED's.

What part number is the led fog light option for the Grand Cherokee?
Thinking about changing mine so they help with a little more light output for seeing at dark. The ones in mine are like blue color and dont really put out much light. Was like that when I bought it. I think they put them in for the looks(blue color) is all I think.. can anyone recommend some good bright fog lights that won't break the bank/cheap price wise and easily just plug in to the factory plug.
You’re best bet for bright white that is also plug and play is to go with Sylvania LED Xevo bulbs. Around $100 USD and you will get the best beam pattern and color you can buy.
Have you ever experience flickering in the headlights? I have a stock 2015 limited and have flickering headlights, not all the time, just sporadically. Would the line conditioner solve it?
Are your headlights the factory HIDs? You might have a faulty bulb. It uses DS3 bulbs which has the igniter built into them, and the ballast is mounted under the headlight housing, there's really no way to use a line conditioner with the OEM HIDs. If yours are flickering, then you may need to replace the bulbs. I'm running the OSRAM Xenarc Cool Blue Boost D3S in mine and they are pretty good, has a nice cool output which is a tasteful upgrade against the OEM HIDs these come with. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0771LK8B1
Great video, do you know where the fuse is? Both my fog lights are not working and I just replaced both HID lights just recently.
There’s a fuse box in the interior, by your left knee behind a little door. Check out this link, looks like it’s F91 and F92. I can’t be certain but this looks like what you might need.

Do all cars come with HID in the fogs?
Is this the same way you would approach changing out the bezels
Hey man. I would presume, yes. You have access to the entire back side of the fog light and should be able to pop them out or whatever’s out need to do with the bezels.

did you ever show the actual bulb?
I did not, just the standard bulb size for the factory fog light housing, but an HID.
what about the passenger turn signal
If you have the factory HID lights, the turn signal is LED and is not user replaceable. The factory halogen models have the turn signal on the inner portion and I imagine it’s similar to replacing the headlight. I don’t have experience with these lights though.
