    I feel every word, Ricardo! I've recently switched careers. Despite having a master's in biology, design has always been my true passion. Now, I've turned it into a business. No regrets about my biology years; they're part of my story, i even merged between the two careers-I design websites for science and education. As my mom says, *Life doesn't come with a manual, so try and see what fits you* this is the joy of living! 😊

      This is such a great example! Just because you switch careers doesn't mean you have to abandon everything you learned before. Human beings are so creative, and it always inspires me how we can bring different interests together and turn them into pursuits that are uniquely our own. Also, your mom's quote is so beautiful; it reminds me of the quote from Forrest Gump - "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know which one you will get." ✨ 💛

    Hi Ricardo! What a blessing it was to find this video today. Last week I decided I wanted to change my life and achieve my dreams. I first started graphic design school in 2015 but a lot happened and I found myself walking away from design.. I even went to accounting school for 2 years 😂 I've always been fortunate to have secure jobs with family members but that also contributed to me not coming out of my comfort zone/pursuing what I truly wanted. But now I find myself with no degree and no career, exactly how I started this journey 10 years ago at 19. And being 29 and changing paths is so scary but this video helped me see this new time in my life with a new pair of eyes. Thank you for your content!

    Right on point, Ricardo!👏 You are one of my favorite UX design creators on YT, mainly because you are genuine and I feel you are truly passionate about sharing your knowledge. If you were to offer coaching sessions at some point, I'd probably sign up for it! 🙂 I'm sure a lot of people would. Keep going✨

      Hi Valeria! Thank you so much; that means a lot. 💛 I try to be as honest as possible because that's what I would love from a UA-cam channel myself. I love that you suggested that because I have actually considered Zoom calls or 1:1 sessions; I just haven't figured out how I would set them up yet, but definitely on my 2024 list, so stay tuned! Thanks so much for all your support; I truly appreciate it. 🙏🏼

    1000% to all of these. This is exactly what I’ve been needing to hear… Dreams are so important to dreamers, idealists like us designers, creatives. They are so essential to our DNA. To deny our ideals and dreams, and our reality of needing to create things in the world- is to deny who we are. After 30+ years of my life trying to combat and deny those truths, trying to fit into the mold of society and the well-intended realists… it took me so much introspecting to realize all that you’ve just said, and you have said it perfectly.
    I wish you a happy birthday to you and your beautiful soul 🎉 and may you keep dreaming beautiful dreams, no matter how much the world wants you to otherwise. ❤

      Thank you so much for your sweet and kind words and for the birthday wishes. 🥹 I believe that this is a lifelong battle and something we need to hold ourselves accountable for - honoring our dreams and staying as true as possible to our creative spirits. It's something I would love to incorporate into this channel, sharing some of my art, design, and making ✨. I'm still figuring out how to do that, but it's definitely something I will continue to explore in 2024. Hope you have a happy and safe holiday season and a dream-filled 2024 and thanks again for your support! 💛

    This script was so beautifully written, you can feel it came from the heart 🤍 thank you for these words.
    I’m also 33, international student during my limited work authorization period in the US, transitioning to user experience after discovering during my recent masters in marketing I didn’t have the energy to pursue it anymore. It’s soooo scary this situation, especially in the beginning when you’re learning and making many mistakes.
    But there’s nothing better than being true to yourself. That authenticity will ignite the motivation to work hard for it. ✨

    • @rahpstudio
      @rahpstudio  7 місяців тому +1

      You're very welcome @sieggee ✨ Switching careers is SO hard, especially because it can feel like you wasted your time but you quickly realize that many of the skills you learned can carry over to UX, you just have to learn the small technical skills to help you land that first job. I'm so happy that you found something that fits you and I know you're going to get there. Sending you so many positive vibes and thoughts and wishing you an awesome 2024! 💛

    I felt that when you said the path to our dreams is lonely! I feel like I’ve been in school forever and working on transiting into UX and it’s definitely been a lonely road and ppl don’t believe that I can do it!

    • @rahpstudio
      @rahpstudio  3 місяці тому +1

      It really is! And the sad part is that people can't relate so it makes it even lonelier. Thank God we have the internet to connect with like-minded folks like us so we can realize - we are not actually alone! I will tell you though, I spent a decade working my butt off and now I can finalize relax a bit so, the hustle is not forever. Keep at it! 💛

      @@rahpstudio thank you so much! I start my masters program in September for HCI & UX. I’m hoping that will help to set me apart from other candidates when I start applying since I feel like the market is so saturated right now.

    Hi Ricardo, I found your channel today I was wondering where are you from? I'm from Colombia but your English is so perfect that I don't know if you are native English speaker and maybe have a Latin American heritage jejeejjeje let me know! I hope one day I can be as good at english. I would like to approach UX/UI desing hopefully this is my field and get a job ASAP. I'm studying graphic design and I'm currently living in Australia so regards from here!!!

      Hi Veronica! Thank you so much for the kind words. In my mind, I still feel like I have an accent, haha. I'm from Puerto Rico, but I moved to the United States when I was 13 during middle school. I attended bilingual schools in Puerto Rico but didn't have to speak it day-to-day until I moved to the states, so it was a big adjustment. Honestly, I think it's practice and being surrounded by the language daily. Truthfully, I think kids have an easier time learning languages than adults without carrying the accent with them. Good luck with school! I would dive into Product Design, AI, and potentially UI for spatial interfaces (AR/VR) if you're able to, even if it's in your free time, to stay ahead of current trends. Have fun, and regards from Florida! 👋🏼
