Thanks. I'm not a runner but moving about is a nice thing. I don't even know if it's broken, might just be sprained second toe. It just happened today and I can walk around. If it gets worse I will get x ray👍
I’m three months out from a stubbed broken toe and I have no strength in it to move it!!! When I curl my toes it won’t move and when I put my finger behind it, I can’t push my toe at all! It’s still swollen but no pain. Thanks Doc.
I'm not a Doctor. I'm a martial artist seems like front kicks using the ball of your foot might help because you have to push out with intention then draw back before intentionally stepping down. Yi is intention, the mind is powerful!
@@civilsavage6337 are you saying hit bags or just kick the foot out front? i broke my toe three months ago, feel mostly healed but still has pain of i put pressure. i do bjj/mma
I'm a runner and broke my pinky toe. 5 weeks away from the marathon. At first, doctor said medically I'm fine to race. Now after 2 weeks the doctor recommends I shouldn't because it's a non union. I do have slight pain but I can run a marathon easily. She's basically saying surgery might be in my future. I'm so confused as to what to do. She says it may heal, but it may not
Did that go away or do you still suffer from it? Because i broke my toe 3 months ago, and i went on a jog yesterday and it immediately got swollen and red and it hurt too much 😢
I've been walking on a deformed toe for years that I dropped heavy stuff on a couple times over the years. I've tried massaging the toe & pulling on it. I think it has calcification over the "non union". I've been loading up on K2. My foot compensates & has struggled froming a bunion on my big toe. Stretching, I get popps all the way from my neck, through my hips, knees and foot by torquing on my big toe outward. The ball of my foot has been hurting for years. I wear padded shoes to get around. My toes only hurt when I launch on them. So running seems out for now.
Hello Doctor, 2 months now I have a light pain in my tendon between my second toe and tibia. I feel that my tendon is over extended, the second toe is taller than the other second toe of the healthy foot (taller because the tendon is not pulling it correctly). I think it's a partial tear of the tendon but i'm not sure, the pain is mostly in my forefoot and top of second toe when i walk for a couple of minutes. Do you have any idea of what i have and how i can heal from it? Thank you for taking your time to answer me.
Thank you for watching and I am sorry to hear about your toe! I can see how you would be worried since becoming a pilot seems super important to you. This video explains to runners who want to run (also applies to your desire to become a pilot) there are certain risks to not treating a toe fracture quickly, aggressively, and appropriately, or potentially delaying healing in a way that could interfere with your ability to complete your pilot training. But based on the amount of information you provided there is no way I can tell you whether or not your fracture may interfere with your ability to become a pilot. If you wanted to get on a fracture strategy call, I do private 1-on-1 strategy calls for all members of the injured runners aid station. www.docontherun.com/aidstation/
I got injured about 6 months ago landing on my big toe. I cant walk without shoes but I can play when I do have shoes I don’t know if I’m making it worse when I play soccer
Hello Omar, Sorry to hear about the toe! Is it painful when you play soccer? Does you get any swelling when you play soccer? Those may suggest that it is furthering the injury.
@Scofield i did when it first happen, but the coronavirus was really bad and the hospital was packed and they really didn’t care for me they did a X-ray and told me nothing was broken and to leave
Hi Doc, I had fracture on my 5th toe 5th week now, its still swollen and red, I run 23kms yesterday, start feeling internal whisper pain after 20km, may I know should I back to Training now or wait longer? I will have marathon 2weeks later, but surely just a relaxing finsh.
Hello doctor, two months ago I injured my right big toe. I jumped and landed on my big toe,it over extended downwards, I x-rayed no bone broken. But Now I can't bend my big toe. Please answer me sir..
I'm sorry to hear about your injury and I would be happy to help. In order to help you I would certainly need more information than can be supplied through a video comment box. I hurt my big toe. Hurt all around for a week or two and then I finally had no pain unless I bend the middle part of my toe down then I’m getting pain. But I get no pain unless I bend it in the middle

What should I do if I have multiple broken toes? My middle toe, my "ring finger" toe and I think my pinky toe (not 100% on that one) are broken and have been for something like a year now (my mom told me "they cant do anything for a broken toe", so I basically left it) and now the pain is so bad I can't wear shoes or boots (or even slippers!) for more than 30 min or so. Can I buddy tape all three toes to my remaining healthy ones or would this require a different approach? Is it possible they've "healed wrong" over the past year?
If your mom is a physician, I recommend you follow her advice. But it sounds like you have not been getting better following that advice. I cannot make a recommendation based on your description and I and cannot provide medical advice over social media comment boxes, but we could get on a webcam call if needed. I have recoded many podcasts and written articles on how I treat broken toes at docontherun.com You may find them helpful as well.
