what are your thoughts on the bal nerf?
edit: Ok i was right regarding bal changes, profit per hour shouldn't change as the stats are being reintroduced later. The nerf of the pet is being delayed until the release of newly obtainable sources for fortune/speed, likely the remaining 3/4 divan equipment. Its simply for balancing reasons and how bad multiplicative stats are on fortune for game design.

The fact that they feel the need to nerf Bal and Scatha, shows poor planning in their Mining Update.
scatha was unintentional, bad wording
and bal was fine at the time, but now with new content and ores added it doesnt allow for more MMM's outside magma fields without adding a billion "only in glacite tunnels" perks which is dumb

Thirty didn't mention it but the bal also buffs stuff like magic find so it's quite useful for something like budget scatha hunting. If you don't have griffin, black cat, or g drag, something like bal is your guy
Pretty sure it also buffs wisdom stats, so you can use it to get carpentry 50 faster
Bal is better than Griffen instead of budget Griffen btw

Grinding hotm10 would be a lot harder with this update cuz they added a new commission that relates to glacite mineshaft. This causes you to be forced to find a mineshaft which spends so much to spawn one
I agree with thirtys last point, if they really wanted to nerf it scale it with hotm tree, scatha was just uncalled for since u need millons to max out sb exp(tons of hours too) and rn its still pretty slow even with max gear
You forgot to mention that portable campfire got buffed and now reduces cold by 50 instead of 15

Also the campfire nerf is just so annoying. Why would you add something like that, there is no reason to nerf glacite tunnels and this change will just keep players from playing the update. Admins must have been on something while designing this update.
my opinion: 1 .i lost so much money on the relic and dwarven metal talisman
2. i hate that i will have to join dark auctions again for the new talisman (talismans and slayers are the only things that i care on this game)
3. the crystal commissions are so dumb, i probably joined more than 50 shafts and i only got 3 crystal rooms, i guess u can get soft lock way easier now
4. powder being guarantee on corpses is cool but only 500? i got like 20k powder once from a lapis corpse so idk about it
5. the key recipe changes are really nice, but it will make it worth it to open the corpses?
6. the cold resistence change i hope is for the best cuz isnt fun to mine in the tunnels

This is balance updates are just like hypixel saying "This is the best we can give deal with it."
,while not even balancing the new update in a good way, and even destroying the old balanced parts of the game completely.
I dont know how they are this bad at balancing some times.Mining up to new content is hard enough and now they are nerfing the progresion just to buff a little for the endgame content.

scatha and bal pet nerfs are dumb and powder nerfs are dumb mining is already slow enough as is doesnt need to be slower screw the admins
Ok Bal pet nerf is insanely stupid, but won't kill gold as he says, I did only scatha gold for a while and was still making 5m coll. per hour.
Powder nerf is so unnecessary, I'm just happy it wasn't a nerf to excavator tho.
Mineshaft buffs were absoloutely needed, just like forge recipe changes.
New comms are stupid, just make crystals more common, in all my time mining there I have gotten 2 crystals, one of them being ruby.
Campfire nerf is so dumb it might actually make lobby swapping meta for grinding collections, that's what I did for tungsten and umber for the ability cooldowns.

I think they are trying to make all the pets relevant in niche scenarios which might be healthy for the game but the bal naturally was essential to so many metas such as gold which is hard to incorporate in many pets. Idk how they will do this but in my opinion to make the game healthy and balanced they need a meta mining pet again for late game players just like gdrag is the best combat meta pet right now unless you look at specific uses such as edrag pet for the end.

Man with my ping I already make almost as much money from farming as from ruby mining with maxed divan, a 655 with sunny side and amber polished and 10m/8m powder. Please don't change this most players that aren't from north america have poopy rates already. They keep buffing farming and nerfing mining wtf.

this update just further reinforces my opinion that 1. the glacite tunnels was a rushed update without balance that was isolated just in order for them to add the new gemstones (to prepare for foraging update)
2. the updates continuously nerf midgame players for no real reason
3. I swear they hate their jobs because most of these will require ironman players to spend more time on useless stuff, causing them to quit- nobody actually enjoys mining. I personally believe it should be buffed idk
This update isnt meant to be played by midgame players, and tbh im quite happy with the update as ive made 2bil so far and on avg make 150m a day quite casually

@@drbreezy8274yeah for normal players not for ironman mining with around 100 ping makes max 25-30m an hour without a divans drill and pendant which are both ridiculously stupid to get

I love how ppl are always crying when overpowered items get nerfed. Like that are good and healthy changes for the game is the nerf really that surprising? Mining is a huge problem bc it inflates the market by alot. Nerfing a 20m pet that outclasses a 300-500m pet is justfied in my opinion. Yes it sucks for ironmans i agree but everyone else should not complain (maybe the gdrag collection grind fair). For everyone complaining about powdermining u might not know how bad it used to be. And most ppl are grinding powder without a leg scather anyways.
The forge changes are an absolut W and more glacite powdercfrom the new pet seems really good as well.
All in all mining will stay as a top moneymaking method borring but still good.

Idk man you make barely more money from mining than from farming with 655 and divan if you're from europe, asia or australia. Even if we assume that the average miner makes 40m/h, there is definitely more than 3 people making at least 13m/h from farming for every miner there is.
Powder should be buffed not nerfed, I got my powder when there was no insta opening chests and it was terrible. I think it would be cool if they made opening frozen corpses a primary way of obtaining all types of powder because it feels a lot less boring than the current mechanic.
If foraging doesnt make good money for ironmans we are doomed

Admins cannot balance updates to save their lives. The amount of stuff that they add and nerf that literally no one wanted s is crazy it’s like they don’t have any idea what the community thinks of anything.
