Eine Domino-Kettenreaktion durch das ganze Haus!
Das soll kein Versuch sein, mit den gigantischen Domino-Tagen mitzuhalten, die seit 1998 jährlich in den Niederlanden stattfinden. Dieses Video zeigt jedoch, was alles in den eigenen 4 Wänden möglich ist.
Due to a lot of interested questions I want to specify the domino day a bit:
The build-up was about 20 hours (three persons and without breaks). At first we left some gaps for the reason that not to many stones topple down in case of a initiation by mistake. And really we were glad about some of the gaps. The clean-up required much less time than the build-up.
Unfortunately we didn't count the dominos and beer coasters at that time, as our intension was not to break a record. There were no annual domino days in the Netherlands and no videos on UA-cam. The beer coasters were for free. Friends rejected them from their restaurant, if they were a bit dirty. A part oft he dominos are a kind of Lego bricks. The most ones are wooden, some of them we even produced by ourselves, sawing wooden slats.
The following fails I remember:
The VHS-Tape in one of our cameras was defect and we repeated the second sequence. At 2:32 it stopped. As we continued the sun was gone. You can see a gap in the chain of beer coasters at 2:35 top right behind the balustrade. The video was originally supposed to end at 4:55. As it had not worked then at 2:35 we build up a part of the toppled stones again at the end oft the chain. The sequence of 5:22 to 5:45 are rooms in which we were previously.
A lot of viewers noted that the tower at the end failed. But it was not planed to bowl it down by the dominoes. To do this we hold the balls ready. However it should work by the first ball. Before, the dominos should fall down inside the tower and activate the chain of dominoes inside, that leaded to the letters "Ende". Instead a few bricks fell down outside the tower.
Wegen vieler interessierte Fragen möchte ich noch etwas mehr Informationen geben:
Der Aufbau hat zu dritt etwa 20 Stunden gedauert, ohne Pausen gerechnet. Wir hatten bis zuletzt einige Lücken gelassen, damit bei versehentlichem vorzeitigem Anstoßen nicht zuviel umfällt. Tatsächlich waren wir um die ein- oder andere Lücke dann froh. Das Aufräumen ging wesentlich schneller als der Aufbau. Ich habe nicht gezählt, wie viele Steine wir hatten, da damals kein Rekord im Vordergrund stand. Es gab noch keine jährlichen Dominotage in Holland und noch lange Zeit keine Videos bei UA-cam. Es dürften ca. 5000 Steine und ähnlich viele Bierdeckel gewesen sein.
Freunde besaßen eine Gaststätte und ich sammelte einige Zeit deren aussortierten Bierdeckel. Von denen, die für die Kundschaft zu dreckig geworden waren, hob ich die saubereren auf. Die Dominos sind zum Teil so eine Art Legosteine, großteils aber aus Holz. Einen Teil haben wir sogar selbst hergestellt, indem wir Holzlatten zersägten. Andernfalls wäre es zu teuer geworden.
An folgende Fehler erinnere ich mich:

Als wir wieder neu ansetzten war die Sonne verschwunden. Den Neuansatz sieht man in Form einer Lücke in der Bierdeckelkette bei 2:35 oben rechts hinter dem Geländer. Das Video sollte ursprünglich bei 4:55 enden. Als es dann an der Stelle 2:35 nicht geklappt hatte haben wir hinten einen Teil der schon gefallenen Steine und Bierdeckel nochmals dran gebaut. Die Sequenz von 5:22 bis 5:45 sind Räume, in denen wir vorher schon waren.
Viele Betrachter stellen fest, dass das mit dem Turm am Ende nicht geklappt hat. Es war so gedacht, dass die Dominos im Turm herunterfallen und innen die Kette anstoßen, die zum Schriftzug "Ende" führt. Einige Dominos sind aber außen heruntergefallen. Wir hatten nicht damit gerechnet, dass der Turm wegen der Dominos umfällt und dafür die Bälle bereit gelegt. Allerdings sollte bereits der erste Ball den Turm umwerfen. - Розваги
one of the most inventive and forward-thinking screenlinks ever. the fact that this was recorded in 1993 (when digital cameras were pretty expensive and storage for any camera was abysmal) makes this even more impressive

This video always is crazy to me. Partially because the dominoes are amazing but also because ove been watching this video every now and again since I was 9, and now I'm 18. That's half my life. Not to mention that the non-UA-cam version of this is nearing 30 years old. Really makes you think.

Hi! You need 3 or better 4 cameras to film like this. At 2:35 was a fail, that's right, you watched the vid very carefully! I explaned it in the description of the vid.
This day there was nearly no wind outside. The building technique we used outside was quite solid, the technique we used inside (always two beer coasters against each other) wouldn't work outside.

Der Knebelini verlassenes Haus genau, da steht noch ein PC, Pflanze, Waschmaschine etc etc etc...
Haha, also komplett unbewohnbar nicht - das Klo ist nämlich frei geblieben. Meine Eltern waren da in Urlaub, sonst wäre es nicht gegangen.

vonwegen keine Hobbys :D so eine Domino Bahn zu machen ist auf keinen fall hobbylos oder ähnliches... ich finds richtig richtig gut, vorallem wie viel mühe er/sie sich gegeben hat .
