Wayne, I want to thank you for taking the time to review these new Aful earphones. I recently purchased the Aful Explorer and am enjoying them for certain genres (since they're quite dark sounding Reverend Dr. Thomas, The Vegan Vicar.
@@jackhandy6211 yup- its just enough energy to be close to too spicy. But, that's mainly just for people that may be sensitive to it and for long listenings/higher volume listening. Scaled back a bit and you have a great all rounder.
Seems like a typical Chinese treble acid bath iem where the sound body is gently dissolved away before they leave the factory. Just like my S12 pro'23.
@@Dailylifeofharsha I think the Origin is a solid set for mid-range but Performer 5+2 is better overall. I think it'll depend on how much you like bass or what your library is but I do think I'd recommend the Performer more.
I have tangzu wan'er. I liked its forward vocals, some clarity and little bit subbass in this. I want to upgrade on more better vocals, better bass and sub bass, excellent surround sound, stage and better separation in the sound. My budget is 100-120$. Can you suggest me the best one as the endgame. Basically an much better upgrade
So, I haven't heard the Quintet but I'd honestly put the Performer 5+2 over a lot of IEMs in that up to $250 range. And it more than competes with IEMs above its price bracket.
Hello! May I ask what eartips did you find paired well with the Performer 5+2 (helps to reduce the spicy treble, improve overall sound signature)? Would the Final Audio Type E (clear) work well? Appreciate any help!
@@stevenluu7508 - so I didn't mind the treble too much but I think the Final Type E (non clear version) would work better than clear. Plus, clear/red tends to be not as grippy on the nozzle while standard Type E would stick on the smooth nozzle better. You can also try Kiwi Ears Flex tips which I think will tame it further and tends to bring up the bass just a small smidge up.
It should sound solid! They're a great balanced all rounder set that can handle that. Won't be shouty though I don't think it'll be as fast as some other options. If you want an upgrade pick, I think Pilgrim works super well with 80s metal/thrash a bit better. Another super good upgrade from that is Dunu's new BrainDance.
A very solid set. Also love the shirt!
@@thaslaya thank you, sir!
Great take! Will get an AFUL iem at some point, and this could be it.
Great job, Wayne, yeah this is a real gem of a set.
AFULLY good review!
@@StarBuccaneers168 I see what you did there. 😂

A very easy to grasp review, Nicely Done! Still waiting for Math jokes 😅
@@treblewellxtended thank you! My unboxing/impressions one was ridiculous. I went overboard. 😂

8-1 looks very cool! also I like the idea of planars we see here and with the bd :)
@@Hots4Frogs - yeah, the utilization of planars for that zing (with it being controlled) does add that extra element that I think separates them a bit
Great review! 🎉
@@whigger83 thank you!
Thanks for your take on the P7. Balanced but possibly borderline spicy treble… hmmm. Overalll, this seems to be truly great set as an all arounder.

I am confused which one to buy Tanchjim ORIGIN or aful performer 5+2.. between both..

I agree about all and I wish it has a little more elevated bass. Thank you.

How it compare to quintet?

@stevenluu7508 correct, standard blacks will work better to tame the treble.

How does it sound with 80s thrash? Like Metallica, Megadeth and stuff? Can't stand shoutyness.
