Me & my buddies would watch Headbanger's Ball & jam out to these guys!!! We had a great time growing up with great music like this...the world will never know first hand HOW awesome it was to grow up in the 80's!!!
It's "You. Me & The Boys..." And that lineup would consist of vocalist Chainsaw Kane, Guitar Lance Sabin, Guitar Nikki Wicked, Bass Letitia Rae, & The Rock on Drums.
I Actually Got To Meet Chainsaw Caine The Lead Singer Of Slave Raider , Very Nice Guy. He And The Remaining Members Of Slave Raider Signed The Album Take The World By Storm For Me
Such a great band. Saw them at TA Vern's Milwaukee, WI. My friends and I still talk about how cool them were. Kids today do not have a clue what it was like in the 80's. Every weekend you could see a kick ass band. It will never be done again
anyone rememeber the Iron Horse they played ther many times i buy there LP there after show wish i still had it same with my record player . Good Memory Mid 1980's
One of the band members works in IT consultancy. He showed up to my work place and introduced himself as being a former member of Slave Raider. I recited some lyrics to this song, and he only responded with "I wrote that song". Nobody else in my workplace(all fellow Minnesotans) knew of Slave Raider.
Did you know Chainsaw Caine the lead singer also started the group Hairball and used to sing for them but then took a back seat as their booking agent? Greatest cover band in Mn. They tour all over the place and even did some shows in Mexico. Get a chance to see them, I'd say don't miss out.
They always had a spot up front for real handicaped individuals. I remember my freind and I put Dave (a down syndrom guy) up on our shoulders. The next time we went to that same bar (Mr Nibb's), there was Dave with front row seats for us and later after the show we met the entire band, all were down to earth.
Damn...saw these guys several times live including the skating rink in Rochester!. One of my all-time favorites! Doesn't get much better than The Raid.
ICONIC!! True Legends & Icons right here! I’m obsessed with Slave Raider.💙 The Love of my Life; Lance Sabin, who was part of the Band as the Lead Guitar Player, he just blows me away with his Guitar Playing, Always. 🎸🤟💞
First and only time I heard this song was in the flick License to Drive when the car punks drove up to race the Coreys in the caddy. It took some searching but is listed on the flicks soundtracks. Talk about a rare find.
License To Drive kicks ass!! Such a cool movie, I have it on DVD. That's where I heard this song as well, in that scene your talking about with the punks driving up and saying 'Hey girls, you driving grandma's car?' Haha!! The CD is very hard to find but when I saw this video for the first time I thought, this is cool man. GREAT music!!
Went to St Cloud to see them when I was probably "21". Didn't know where they were playing just drove around until we found it and we found it because someone spray painted SLAVE RAIDER on the side to he Press. Chainsaw handed me the saw that night. Always an awesome show!
Chainsaw Caine aka Mike Findling vocals, Nikki Wikkid aka Dave Hussman guitar, The Rock aka Michael T. Williams drums, Lance Sabin guitar and Letitia Rae bass. They released Take The World By Storm 1986, What Do You Know About Rock 'n'Roll 1988 and Bigger, Badder, Bolder 1990. Then they broke up. Chainsaw Caine formed a band called U.K.I. (Unstoppable Kamikazee Idiots). The first Slave Raider album had Leo Blaske on keyboards and Don Airey on the second. The last album only had Lance Sabin on guitar and Tommy D (Daugherty) on bass.
I remember seeing them in concert in Mounds View, MN at The Mermaid. It was pouring rain outside and these folks were the only ones who would still play. It was an excellent show!!!
Chain was my favorite it was his stage character and presence up there ,I'd get chills . Never seen anything like him . Beautiful blue eye too ,it sparkled .
at the iron horse friday saturday night 1985 maybe 1986 loved this band! all we had for rock in minneapolis for rock and roll. i think we has to travel to robbindale to see.. lol
I used to see these guys at the M & M Ballroom when I was a kid! Can not believe this video is on here! That RULES! \m/ ( > < )\m/ ... ROCK ON! hahahahaha~
These guys would've 'made it' if not for Kurt Cobain and the introduction of 'grunge'.Grunge killed rock (to a large degree) in the USA....so SUX! RAIDER was AWESOME! They PACKED every place they played! Long Live ROCK! We 'youth' were alot happier back when Rock was 'alive and kickin' in the USA.
This song is a guilty pleasure of mine, But It could have been so much better with a producer. (I'm guessing they didn't have one) This is a great song sketch. It's like the verse is almost as energetic as the chorus. They should have split it into two songs and added a bridge for breathing room. Anyway, as a Scandinavian, I am proud to claim them as my progeny.
killer song, discovered this song on License to Drive and it fit perfectly with the scene with the gearheads trying to race the Caddy at the stoplight
Lmfao 😆 🤣 😂 . I grew up watching this movie. I looked this song up for the same reason because I haven't watched the movie in like 20 years

Ryans Corner, what memories. Sadly, these guys thought they were too big for our little venue. Only time will tell, eh guys
Ryan's Corner? The only thing that ever mattered about Ryan's Corner was the Regime !!!
Rusty Nail, Iron Horse, made sure to see the last band that played at the horse 👍

The guitarist was my teacher at music tech
only good thing to come from minnesota
I was around when they were still a band before they became Chainsaw.😂
This song is a guilty pleasure of mine, But It could have been so much better with a producer. (I'm guessing they didn't have one)
This is a great song sketch. It's like the verse is almost as energetic as the chorus. They should have split it into two songs and added a bridge for breathing room.
