Great detail on these videos, you show many good techniques for working with troublesome parts and it is valuable instruction for others who want to restore a similar car. Thank you!!! It is hard to work on a car, it is ever harder to do it and manage a camera!!!
Thank you! Yeah, there is not much video documentations for these cars so it will be helpful to other beginners. Plus, once I get to putting the parts back, I can remind myself how it all goes 😁
Got a 1983 924 2.0 myself that is currently in restauration in a workshop "with benefits" looking forward to seeing more videos from your project !! Best regards from germany
I’m looking forward to this one, in the throws of sorting the head gasket and cylinder head work on my 944 s2. I would love to carry out a full restoration. Keep up the good work.
924 is a good choice to learn restoration. I have the S version and I would like to do the same as you. Good job! J'ai la version S et j'aimerais bien faire la même chose, Bon travail!!
hey, i'm also doing a restoration on a 924, i really appreciate your video's! On the driver side there is a cable going thru the steering knuckle. How do i losen/remove it?
I just watched this episode again to prepare me for my next step; Rebuilding and lifting the front suspension on my 924 Safari :-). When is your next episode airing?
Glad you find it helful! Next episode should be out in a couple of days. Next few episodes will be a few short ones removing bunch of parts... I want to have a nice library of episodes from A to Z (removing, restoring and putting it back on) for anyone working on there cars as well as for myself. Looking forward to a new Safari build episode too!
They are very rare and not that cheap where I live. I'm guessing you're from UK or USA as they are very cheap there. I think it's a great first restoration project and I learned a lot. I get a lot of joy and satisfaction from working on it and you can't put a price on that. :)
You can watch Part 2 here: ua-cam.com/video/FgKMZCJSe2s/v-deo.html

@@juliangijsen1346 Thanks! That's speedometer cable. Just remove small clip from the hub and you can pull the cable right off.
Svaka cast😉
Hvala drug!
Super. Grade vor ein paar Tagen die 924 Porsche Folge von Wheeler Dealers geschaut ... Ep 1. Season 1! Ha.
Thank you! Yes, and they did it once more in later seasons.

Never hit a tie rod end like that.
Why not? It will be replaced.
@@RestorationApprentice It can cause the tie rod to mushroom out at the top and really get it stuck.
@@SamRFixes That is the reason I put a nut back on so I don't mashroom it. Wasn't hitting it really hard too. Thank you for commenting!
🙅🏼♂️
Hvala! 😀
Man I'd have just cut that brake pipe off, you're presumably gonna be making up new pipes and getting new flexis anyway.
Yeah, I eneded up cutting rubber hoses... will definitely be replacing all brake lines.
1985 924? What?
Yes. It was a last production year for 924 here. You form USA? Is it different there?
much quicker to scrap it
Hey John, scrap what?
this car is only worth a packet of biscuits why bother with it
