Atlas hit a home run with this set for very young children! It can be the spark to ignite life long interest in the hobby? Cost wise you can't beat it! The set in a way has it's roots back to days of windup trains.
I like this glow in the dark version more than the classic Acela version! Hopefully, Atlas makes a steam train, freight train, and diesel streamliner in their TainKids line as well as more accessories like Marklin's My World.
Was going to tell you that those lights were to charge the glowing track, but I would just get a black light and turn it on and that thing will glow like crazy ❤💯🚂🎄🎁
You maybe could get some kind of scenery lights along the track at intervals to provide light for the train to glow. Or maybe use a Lionel searchlight if its light is bright enough. Or a locomotive engine.

Wanna see weird, check out the Hello Kitty train and the Evangelion train. Keep in mind they aint 100 bones. Made in Japan, N scale, hyper detailed, based on real trains. But they are weird.
Nice but the price is kinda high , unless you added all that extra equipment you purchased to your price, I will be getting my Grandson a Lionel Set ,yes its a few hundred dollars more but way more eye candy for a young child,

1. Price is $109.95, but I've seen it go for as low at $85 on some sites if you hunt around.
2. This set is HO gauge.
Another method of having the train itself glow for a longer period of time would be using a fluorescent blacklight.

It’s just a manual throw switch. Nothing fancy
