The story/characters veer pretty wildly from the comic sources. F'r'instance, Sofia's nickname is 'Gigante' (for good reason). She was in Blackgate (not Arkham) to take the fall for murders Sal Maroni committed (in the comics they had a thing together). Later she does go on a killing spree, trying to get revenge against those who caused havoc in her family and killed her father, but she doesn't survive it. I'd have to double check, but I'm fairly certain Selina does interact with her at some point, but I can't remember if Sofia knows about their connection.
The more I see it, "A young woman in this family - things might not work out so well for her" is an absolutely brilliant piece of writing, because there's 2 reasons for it. 1) She wanted to scare the bejesus out of Carla, because she was hurt and offended by the implication she would hurt a child, and 2) I think she was talking about _herself_ - I think she took the fall for someone in the family, most likely without a choice. Daddy dearest did have a penchant for strangling the ladies...
As for the Alberto thing - one of the Holiday Killers. What's great about The Long Halloween (which I reread a few days ago) is that it's not actually clear when you get to the end. Alberto is implied. Harvey is implied. _Gilda_ (Harvey's wife) is implied. And it may have been all three.
And yeah, Vic stuttered in the first episode - it's literally why Oz pulls up and actually looks at him instead of killing him. My theory is it reminded Oz of one of his brothers.

This is more a response to your ep1 video but I think you are taking the assertion that Sofia is an insane psycho far too much at face value. This whole episode, there's this undercurrent of Sofia chafing against the sort of public perception of her (protestors, the pasta scene, the cousin scene) in a way that reads to me like its leading up to a reveal that she isn't what/who everyone thinks she is.
I totally get where you're coming from with your concern about the hysterical crazy woman trope, but I really, seriously believe that the show is right there with you, that Sofia's storyline is going to be a subversion of that archetype. The way she eats like a starving animal, her sleeping on the floor of her closet instead of her bed, the detail she drops about being stripped naked every morning in arkham until she barely felt human anymore-these are all signs to me that she was horrifically abused in Arkham, and it seems like unlike a lot of batman media, this show is actually interested in interrogating what that kind of abuse actually does to a person.

That’s a great point. I will bring up in the next reaction.
