KababFPV I’ve always had this problem with cinewhoop where it was very hard to control the altitude. What should I change in tuning to be able to achieve better stability ? Thanks! Really enjoyed the video bud. 👌
@@TheDroneNerd well a lot of it has to do with skill but this quad isn't the easiest to control altitude either. Definitely not on the hard scale but it could be easier. Lower weight and larger props is how you get good altitude control

Hi, I live in Spain and we have been locked down for the last 3 weeks... it is being terrible here, thousands of people die everyday but we are to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been printing 3d parts for hospitals for the last 2 weeks and that is keeping my mental health ok... take care and try not to go out, this illness is horrible. I agree with Bob about China not being transparent enough about telling how serious this illness was... All the best from Spain!

Hi Bob! Here in Spain the situation seems to be slowly getting better. Take the 'thing' seriously and stay at home everybody! And most important keep your elders safe! Here the death rate of people older than 65 is 1/5 which is crazy high!
For those 8500 kv 1103 motors, I would agree with your assessment on this 40mm prop setup. For this size they probably should have gone with the 10000 kv to be more effective on 2s batteries. I've tried them on a 2" build and they always felt under powered on 2s, and were a blast to fly but chewed through batteries on 3s. I've been considering trying them on 2s in a 2.5" build. Hoping that might be the sweet spot where these mamba motors finally find a permanent home. Though for that build I might end up going 1303 5000 kv 3s just for fun. The Tina Whoop looks good!
gotta say, I got the Tina whoop as a step-up from a 1S whoop and I hate it. The whole betaflight flash fiasco should have been exhibit A but I was convinced it would be a great intermediary step between 1S whoops and cinewhoops,. Even after flashing JESC I get
Most RTF quads will give you that sort of shitty experience. MOST, not ALL. This is to be expected unfortunately however this one is actually not that bad. Your experience is genuine however and not to be diminished. Please keep in mind for the future that this is typically how RTF's go more often than not. There isn't a single RTF on the market that I would actually recommend short of the Mr Steel alien....but that's like $800 so might as well build it yourself.
Hi Wingman, can you get someone fo finally produce something like it, perform well and wear 3” props,? Kind of like a toothpick with the guards with a decent weight flying 3 and 4s.
Really liking this design for a little basher. I might not take apart a gopro, but I'll take apart a $30 1080p knockoff action camera, heck, even a $40-$50 4k one. Not just good, but good enough!
It looks like a lot of weight could be removed from that frame without weakening it. For example those little bosses around the outside could be removed. What are they for, fitting foam or something?
I know this is an older vid, But I hope I can get a response as my question/issue involves the Diatone Tina Whoop ( Beta flight version and 8500 kv and run on 3s ) Issue is , I decided to change the prop guards to add some color to this amazing Whoop . I did not de-solder the motors, did not touch any electronics. Just changed the guards and re-installed props. When I went to fly it, it has no power...it barely rises and it takes almost full throttle to get that and battery in a minute is drained . Have no clue what is happening and why ? Everything appears the exact same, great video, powers up, goes through it's little beeps, when armed motors turn and are smooth, no dragging or rough sounds, but when throttle up, barely climbs at all , and again battery will drain really fast. Use to have so much power, and could get 4-5 minute flights with a tattu 3S .Now can not even keep it in the air for more than a minute or so . Really is mind blowing...any suggestions or advice would be Greatly appreciated I own three of these little things, love them .
you probably changed the orientation of something. the motors or props. The FC is compensating for something that's not correct. Check all your motor, prop and FC orientations
@@Kabab You were correct...I studied and looked and saw no issues, then I watched this video again and looking at yours on screen it appeared my props were not correct as yours are, so I looked at the little book that came with the quad to see prop rotation and sure enough between the book and your vid, I saw the props were incorrect to the motor rotation, just that simple change and testing inside, it flies with the power it had before and Batt. does not discharge at that alarming rate Amazing how this thing flew at all with the prop issue, Makes me like this Tina whoop even more .And Thank you, for the advice and help, it is greatly appreciated . ( did not even think about the props, I thought they were correct...I learn something everyday ) Thanks Again 👍👏 😁

Hi, Bardwell just did a video on another diatone Falcox drone and his ecs blew iut just like yours because of that turtle mode. So since that esc is crap and the motors are weird (not sure for 2s or 3s) i was wondering if its possible to buy only the frame? I am very interested in this quad but it seems the frame is its best feature and everything else is sub par.
We've been using and selling the mamba Toothpick boards for many months on the TP3. Extremely low failure rate on BF 3.5.7. The TinaWhoop however has been reported to kill ESC's for some reason. They're looking into it.
With the prop disk so close to the plane of the bottom plate, if you put the battery on the bottom you'd reduce the torque moment for both pitch and roll axes and probably improve the craft's control characteristics considerably.
That makes sense except for the given quad size. Little things prefer a tighter weight density and reasonable CG instead of a good CG and reasonable weight density
Nice whoop, nice video. You don't have to skeletonise a hero 8, there are plenty of session 5s still out there! Not to mention Caddx Orcas etc... Stay safe!
I regret buying this thing so much. I got the 8500kv version and it is useless. On the 3S 525 that RDQ recommended I am lucky if I can get over 2 minutes of really simple forward flight, let alone actually doing anything fun with it.
I was running this with a full gopro and getting more than 1.5min. Something is odd about what you're reporting. It flies for a pretty solid 4min. Is that battery you're using an HV pack? Usually HV packs get pretty crummy performance after a bunch of use cycles but either way it should still be good. Are you actually charging the batteries or just charging them to resting state which is half charged?
Hello, I have a drone that is also small, with 1104 8600Kv engines, specifically the tyro69, with a very low weight as well, and indeed, it raises the gopro, but the engines get very, very hot, and the battery (450 mAh, 2s) lasts less than a minute. Also I am using 3" three bladed propellers, which should give it more performance and autonomy. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
you're using motors that are very very small for the job and also motors of the absolute lowest quality available on the market. I would not recommend using such low end components and trying to do anything like this. You'll surely burn out some electronics or motors.
Interesting.. I am going to add sine holes to my duct design and turn it into a pusher. I like this idea, should be smoother and lighter overall.. I am surprised this thing can handle a go-pro!.
I got a question and hopefully you can help. I have the 12000 KV version with betaflight pre loaded from Diatone. I added a XMplus and checked everything in Betaflight and it looked normal. Everything is great but, I get like 30 second flight times on a Tattu 2s 450mah. I have never seen a quad suck a battery from 4.2v to 3.2v that fast. I'm lost... Thanks.
Because small capacity tattu cells are pretty awful. Their whoop cells aren't bad but the others are. If I had to guess I'd say that's your issue and the battery probably goes back up to maybe 3.9v after resting for a min or two. ? In general this isn't a very efficient quad.

Flyduino (Kiss) invented turtle mode, Felix back in the days (Oct 10, 2016) when he introduced the DSHOT protocol. And it has normal throttle control, not like first BetaFlight attempts with ESC and motors BURNS =)
I understand that your not releasing the tp4 info or video for awhile. That being said I’m really considering ordering the tp3 setup when the motors come in. I’m looking for a front yard/park flier, I’m currently runny the babytooth and having a blast but want another quad to knock my socks off so to speak. Is it worth waiting for the 4” or just go for tp3. I’m not a dji guy so not worried about 4” hd
I don't think the 4" is worth it. The TP3 is a fantastic platform. Once you get to 4" it's no longer small. That being said, the 4" I'm working on is gonna be quite a beast. Still I don't see a point to it.

@@Kabab You're right. I tested it with a runcam orange (57g) + GNB 600mah 2s (30g) + mount (12g) and it was hard to fly (1min15s). I'm amazed, your Tina + GoPro flew 2mins+. Seems like Tina is just a whoop without beeing able to "cine". :)
for things this small, the number of blades doesn't seem to make a massive difference but usually more blades will mean more thrust up to 5 blades. 3 or 4 blades is usually the sweet spot for amp draw and performance.

@@B17BigRed thr CineSplore has been a really solid performer. Otherwise, any is fine as long as the ducts are actually designed to work properly, you use 2203-2204 motors and mind the overall auw.
What are the odds that a split type HD camera will fit inside of this thing? I have no interest in mounting a Gopro, though I'm impressed it did it, but I would love to be able to record HD footage.
yeah a split would fit but is it really worth it is the question. I personally don't think the HD footage from a split is worth it's weight. A mini Ratel and onboard DVR total only weigh maybe a gram or two more than default and the recorded video is comparable to a split camera as long as you don't view it on a big screen..
I'll have to check that out. I had a Runcam of some kind and their SD DVR on a fixed wing for a bit and it was not impressive. I swapped it out to a Split 3 nano and found the image to be more than adequate. However, one of the posts bellow mentioned that the insta360 go can do 5 min clips now. I've been waiting specifically for that, but figured it was a pipe dream. I literally just bought one and I'm probably going to grab one of these pretty soon. I'f I hate the camera, I'll give it to the kids. LOL

One thought about Gopro acquiring Reelsteady, I mean it does make sense but wouldn't it have been nicer for us if they branched out and started supporting more cameras? Maybe working together with other cam manufacturers to get them to implement the data they need, etc. Just a little thought, not bitchin' or anything. ;)
Yeah reelstesdy does want to support everything but nothing else out there has the gyro support. They already support the insta360 cams and I think one other. I've been trying to get the gyro data recorded from the FC to be used with any cam.

the auto Turtle mode is not the best in all situations ... a friend crashed on a mountain... if he didn't setup Auto qupa what ever mode .. he would got it back ... so the FC thinks .. ah thats the better way to flip out ... nope not in that ... it get more stuck... also .. if you in a tree ... think about it ... also on KISS (first FC with Turtle mode) doesn't full pull if you touch roll or so ... its linear to your stick movement

For those 8500 kv 1103 motors, I would agree with your assessment on this 40mm prop setup. For this size they probably should have gone with the 10000 kv to be more effective on 2s batteries. I've tried them on a 2" build and they always felt under powered on 2s, and were a blast to fly but chewed through batteries on 3s. I've been considering trying them on 2s in a 2.5" build. Hoping that might be the sweet spot where these mamba motors finally find a permanent home. Though for that build I might end up going 1303 5000 kv 3s just for fun. The Tina Whoop looks good!

gotta say, I got the Tina whoop as a step-up from a 1S whoop and I hate it. The whole betaflight flash fiasco should have been exhibit A but I was convinced it would be a great intermediary step between 1S whoops and cinewhoops,. Even after flashing JESC I get
Most RTF quads will give you that sort of shitty experience. MOST, not ALL. This is to be expected unfortunately however this one is actually not that bad. Your experience is genuine however and not to be diminished. Please keep in mind for the future that this is typically how RTF's go more often than not. There isn't a single RTF on the market that I would actually recommend short of the Mr Steel alien....but that's like $800 so might as well build it yourself.
Hi Wingman, can you get someone fo finally produce something like it, perform well and wear 3” props,? Kind of like a toothpick with the guards with a decent weight flying 3 and 4s.

Really liking this design for a little basher. I might not take apart a gopro, but I'll take apart a $30 1080p knockoff action camera, heck, even a $40-$50 4k one. Not just good, but good enough!

I know this is an older vid, But I hope I can get a response as my question/issue involves the Diatone Tina Whoop ( Beta flight version and 8500 kv and run on 3s )
Issue is , I decided to change the prop guards to add some color to this amazing Whoop . I did not de-solder the motors, did not touch any electronics. Just changed the guards and re-installed props.
When I went to fly it, it has no power...it barely rises and it takes almost full throttle to get that and battery in a minute is drained .
Have no clue what is happening and why ? Everything appears the exact same, great video, powers up, goes through it's little beeps, when armed motors turn and are smooth, no dragging or rough sounds, but when throttle up, barely climbs at all , and again battery will drain really fast. Use to have so much power, and could get 4-5 minute flights with a tattu 3S .Now can not even keep it in the air for more than a minute or so .
Really is mind blowing...any suggestions or advice would be Greatly appreciated

you probably changed the orientation of something. the motors or props. The FC is compensating for something that's not correct. Check all your motor, prop and FC orientations

@@Kabab You were correct...I studied and looked and saw no issues, then I watched this video again and looking at yours on screen it appeared my props were not correct as yours are, so I looked at the little book that came with the quad to see prop rotation and sure enough between the book and your vid, I saw the props were incorrect to the motor rotation, just that simple change and testing inside, it flies with the power it had before and Batt. does not discharge at that alarming rate
Amazing how this thing flew at all with the prop issue, Makes me like this Tina whoop even more .And Thank you, for the advice and help, it is greatly appreciated . ( did not even think about the props, I thought they were correct...I learn something everyday ) Thanks Again

Exploded gopros are lame. I agree. Nobody wants to take apart a GoPro just to smash it right away. Many tiny whoops can carry a full hero

the baby ratel is awesome. i put it on my 3 inch quad, and record with the runcam dvr, and the footage is great, even with my untuned quads.

Hi, Bardwell just did a video on another diatone Falcox drone and his ecs blew iut just like yours because of that turtle mode. So since that esc is crap and the motors are weird (not sure for 2s or 3s) i was wondering if its possible to buy only the frame? I am very interested in this quad but it seems the frame is its best feature and everything else is sub par.
We've been using and selling the mamba Toothpick boards for many months on the TP3. Extremely low failure rate on BF 3.5.7. The TinaWhoop however has been reported to kill ESC's for some reason. They're looking into it.
With the prop disk so close to the plane of the bottom plate, if you put the battery on the bottom you'd reduce the torque moment for both pitch and roll axes and probably improve the craft's control characteristics considerably.
That makes sense except for the given quad size. Little things prefer a tighter weight density and reasonable CG instead of a good CG and reasonable weight density

Why is a OSD in the Video showing FalcoX, the Diatone Whoop datasheet say it is betaflight. Is the FC replaced with a Flight One FalcoX?
They may have stopped using FalcoX. They were having issues with it burning out the ESC's in turtle mode I believe

Not really inside but it wouldn't be difficult to hang it underneath. Getting tht camera mounted would be another story however.
I regret buying this thing so much. I got the 8500kv version and it is useless. On the 3S 525 that RDQ recommended I am lucky if I can get over 2 minutes of really simple forward flight, let alone actually doing anything fun with it.
I was running this with a full gopro and getting more than 1.5min. Something is odd about what you're reporting. It flies for a pretty solid 4min. Is that battery you're using an HV pack? Usually HV packs get pretty crummy performance after a bunch of use cycles but either way it should still be good. Are you actually charging the batteries or just charging them to resting state which is half charged?
Does it come with every colour of the prop guards?
It doesn't. Seems to just be a sample of other color guards in the box for whatever reason

Hello, I have a drone that is also small, with 1104 8600Kv engines, specifically the tyro69, with a very low weight as well, and indeed, it raises the gopro, but the engines get very, very hot, and the battery (450 mAh, 2s) lasts less than a minute. Also I am using 3" three bladed propellers, which should give it more performance and autonomy. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
you're using motors that are very very small for the job and also motors of the absolute lowest quality available on the market. I would not recommend using such low end components and trying to do anything like this. You'll surely burn out some electronics or motors.

I got a question and hopefully you can help. I have the 12000 KV version with betaflight pre loaded from Diatone. I added a XMplus and checked everything in Betaflight and it looked normal. Everything is great but, I get like 30 second flight times on a Tattu 2s 450mah. I have never seen a quad suck a battery from 4.2v to 3.2v that fast. I'm lost... Thanks.
Because small capacity tattu cells are pretty awful. Their whoop cells aren't bad but the others are. If I had to guess I'd say that's your issue and the battery probably goes back up to maybe 3.9v after resting for a min or two. ? In general this isn't a very efficient quad.

Flyduino (Kiss) invented turtle mode, Felix back in the days (Oct 10, 2016) when he introduced the DSHOT protocol. And it has normal throttle control, not like first BetaFlight attempts with ESC and motors BURNS =)

I understand that your not releasing the tp4 info or video for awhile. That being said I’m really considering ordering the tp3 setup when the motors come in. I’m looking for a front yard/park flier, I’m currently runny the babytooth and having a blast but want another quad to knock my socks off so to speak. Is it worth waiting for the 4” or just go for tp3. I’m not a dji guy so not worried about 4” hd
I don't think the 4" is worth it. The TP3 is a fantastic platform. Once you get to 4" it's no longer small. That being said, the 4" I'm working on is gonna be quite a beast. Still I don't see a point to it.

Under represent, over deliver. Beyond 1min the flight performance is just barely tolerable. I wouldn't count on it.

I tested it with a runcam orange (57g) + GNB 600mah 2s (30g) + mount (12g) and it was hard to fly (1min15s). I'm amazed, your Tina + GoPro flew 2mins+.
Seems like Tina is just a whoop without beeing able to "cine". :)

for things this small, the number of blades doesn't seem to make a massive difference but usually more blades will mean more thrust up to 5 blades. 3 or 4 blades is usually the sweet spot for amp draw and performance.

Yeah F1 is a LOT like BF 4.1 in it's flight problems. By a lot I mean exactly. Same annoying bobble at speed.

@@B17BigRed thr CineSplore has been a really solid performer. Otherwise, any is fine as long as the ducts are actually designed to work properly, you use 2203-2204 motors and mind the overall auw.

What are the odds that a split type HD camera will fit inside of this thing? I have no interest in mounting a Gopro, though I'm impressed it did it, but I would love to be able to record HD footage.
yeah a split would fit but is it really worth it is the question. I personally don't think the HD footage from a split is worth it's weight. A mini Ratel and onboard DVR total only weigh maybe a gram or two more than default and the recorded video is comparable to a split camera as long as you don't view it on a big screen..
I'll have to check that out. I had a Runcam of some kind and their SD DVR on a fixed wing for a bit and it was not impressive. I swapped it out to a Split 3 nano and found the image to be more than adequate. However, one of the posts bellow mentioned that the insta360 go can do 5 min clips now. I've been waiting specifically for that, but figured it was a pipe dream. I literally just bought one and I'm probably going to grab one of these pretty soon. I'f I hate the camera, I'll give it to the kids. LOL

Hey, great video. Thank you. What kind of C rating should these 2s/3s lipos have in this setup. Having hard time finding anything up in 80/160 C rating in my area since banggood does not ship to my location anymore (batteries that is).
The highest you can find always. the GNB packs are the best I've found. I know batteries have been heavily restricted these days unfortunately.

Total defaults. 100% regular GoPro defaults. It's all the lighting. I did boost the shadows a little but no color.
speaking of down sizing gopro, how come we got these tiny cameras in our mobile phones that can take amazing footage .. when is a mobile phone camera going to be the tiny action cam for fpv/whoops ( as a footage recording , not a fpv feed )

One thought about Gopro acquiring Reelsteady, I mean it does make sense but wouldn't it have been nicer for us if they branched out and started supporting more cameras?

Yeah reelstesdy does want to support everything but nothing else out there has the gyro support. They already support the insta360 cams and I think one other. I've been trying to get the gyro data recorded from the FC to be used with any cam.

about 1:30. Video link is 400mw so as far as 400mw will take you. I don't know what the gopro link is good for. I've never actually used it

the auto Turtle mode is not the best in all situations ... a friend crashed on a mountain... if he didn't setup Auto qupa what ever mode .. he would got it back ... so the FC thinks .. ah thats the better way to flip out ... nope not in that ... it get more stuck... also .. if you in a tree ... think about it ...
also on KISS (first FC with Turtle mode) doesn't full pull if you touch roll or so ... its linear to your stick movement
