- Finally got the time to update my original demon video. While this version fixes a few errors in the original, the majority of the work went into extending the list to today. 300 levels across almost a decade, enjoy.
Level dates are taken by verification date. If a level was reuploaded/verified in a later update (Silent Club, Sonic Wave, Silent clubstep, etc.) then the date would change. If a level was buffdated the date the original version of the level was verified was still taken.
IMPORTANT: ALL DATA FROM BEFORE NOVEMBER 2015 WAS COLLECTED AND ESTIMATED BY ME, AND IS LIKELY VERY INACCURATE.

Seeing the top 3 demons being red, green, and blue (yatagurasu, erebus, sonic wave) in order in 2017 and then they grow up in 2021 and meet up again (tartarus, the golden, sonic wave infinity) is just so beautiful. Heck, i really hope i get to see all of them meet up again when 2.2 demons arrive!

I love videos like this. To see the timeline of hardest demons visualized like this is awesome. Nice to see an update for the older video, and great work on everything! Stuff like this takes a lot of research to do :)

I liked the original a lot, glad to see an update to it. This video was made in terrible timing since KOCMOC, Edge of Destiny and Neutra were all beaten very recently. Plus we have Avernus 33-100 and MINUSdry 91%

The fact that Zodiac is the only level from before 2020 that's still in the top 25 is a testament to how hard it really is.
And how terrible 7 out of 10 top 10 demons r (excluding poocubed kyouki and limbo).

I started playing on late March 2014, right after 1.6 was released, on mobile. Then, I stopped playing about when 2.0 was released (I didn't play at all during 2016), and returned on PC around mid 2017. I have been playing on and off ever since then lol
loved how Crimson Clutter, an Insane Demon used to be above Retention, AcropoliX, Hate War, and The Flawless, all of which are Extreme Demons lol
Crimson Clutter being an insane demon is still divisive, many consider it extreme and others insane
Has to do with the wave being easier on higher refresh rates, like back then very very very few people had 120/144 hz while now everyone can play on 360 fps with megahack. It doesn’t affect cube, ball, ufo, robot or spider that much though which is why the others are still extreme while crimson relied on extreme wave difficulty and is now insane demon. (I think everyone understands this at this point though)

Silent club is a real Chad for staying in the top 150 of hardest demons for 9 years.
Element 111 Rg has been top 1 until Firework was verified, it still sits in the top 10 after 9.5 years

I noticed that riot almost always had a level here. Red world rebirth was a hard level, sure, but riot settled on bloodbath to buy him some time. As soon as it was out, quantum processing was in. Tartarus was riot’s next top 1, but after a bit, he couldn’t settle for anything below 10th, so he finally made Acheron.

November 2015 to 2017 is from the forum lists, and can be tracked back through web archive.
Everything before November 2015 was estimated by me by physically checking level IDs and dates, so it’s probably really inaccurate.

How was the list in 2013/14 put together? There were no demon lists back then so is it just comparing the difficulty of the demons that were rated back then based on todays standards?
Kinda. I mostly did it though modern day opinions (and my own) but I tried to consider some opinion of the time (such as Necropolis being quite underrated)

That is a myth. The setup with the blue orb and ship portal has been confirmed to be a troll by the creator, and that the level was actually hacked conventionally.
(There is no way on any fps to make the skip work)

if anyone is wondering why the top 1s and other stuff switch around, you need to know this list is based off what people thought of at the time, a recent example is how avernus was top 2 before people realized it was top 1.
