My first Eberron campaign was an espionage themed game almost entirely set within the city of Sharn. Awesome setting, though a little unwieldy due to its sheer scope. Oh, and forget about finding "street" level maps, no one has them. :(
The best city of the best setting.
The Best UA-camr for the best Hobby.
I am LOVING Eberron!
Sharn is essentially magical New York and it's one of my favorite fictional locations.
Omg I've been waiting at the edge of my seat for more content on Eberron from you. Thank you
Woo!
Love the Eberron videos. Since you’re on an Eberron kick, do you think you could do a video on the lord of blades and his followers? I think that the whole war forged rebellion idea is super cool. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for creating this series. I am running Eberron for the first time, this is only my 2nd time DMing. These videos have been invaluable.
Those *are* some sweet looking metal dice...
*I need more dice.*
My campaign is about to enter The Mournland and I was wondering if you could cover it in more depth? Maybe toss around some idea's regarding how it happened/works. The books left so much for the DM to decide and seemingly forgot to give much inspiration.
I'd love to see a video on the mournland
so sharn is kinda like coruscant from starwars
*That’s* what it reminded me of!
So awesome! Using this for my new Eberron capaign! Thank You
thank you for making these videos I'm starting an eberron game and have spent the past few days just learning and trying to teach my group so we can begin and your vids have been a good help
Just got Eberron rising from the last war for Christmas
Hyped to see some lore on Sharn
Hype!!
The city structure reminds me of Taris from KOTOR, which also got some sort of weird monsters (rakghoul) in the lowest levels.
This video was cool BUT WAAAAY too short, I'd like a more in depth explanation of every part of sharn and what you can find there and the big buildings and famous people.
Loving the Eberron videos.
Appreciate and thanks for the uploads Jor dan mate. The PH is invisible......
Amazing! Though at around 5:30 I would like to point out Medani has a major presence with Brelands government so I would think that would heavily apply to Sharn as well.
You left out the fact that Sharn is located in whole in a manifest zone of Syrania. T_T
Moar Eberron content, please! :)
A whole campaign in Sharn does somewhat sound just a bit like a Ravnica campaign.
Wind, Water, Heart!
Because who doesn't like the fantasy version of Night City?
Captain planet art lol😂😂
Is it me or did they leave out the part that the city is built upon a manifest zone. Its the reason they can build so high, and that the Skyway works.
Are you gonna make a video on the Lords of Dust next?
No real mention of Khybers gate?
Interesting.
So Sharn is the world of Ready Player One in a fantasy setting
A bear ant.
I'm behind on the lore videos. But I do lurk the Discord. Semi fair trade?
Is this series continuing or was this the last episode?
Currently this is the last episode.
I plan on continuing but it's postponed as I'm working on some other lore videos that tie into my live streamed game "The Rod of Seven Parts"
Oh Sharn the location!
Not Sharn the aberration.
Correct!!
The population is WAY bigger than what the books say. The number listed is the biggest population available for the system which was based on Forgotten Realms. The actual population of Sharn, including the slums, is probably more like a few million at least.
Also, the part where you talked about magical building materials is just 100% wrong. Did you even read anything about Sharn at all before making this video? o_O
The reason the towers can get so high is because the city is built on a manifest zone to Syrania, the plane of air. They build on pre-existing towers because there is literally no other place to build.
Dhakaani was a kingdom of goblins, no hobgoblins, and their kingdom spans the entire continent. That means there are countless Dhakaani ruins or tombs, and it's common for the newer cities of Khorvaire to be built on top of Dhakaani sites, so that guard tower over there? There's another level under it.
O yeah, you didn't mention that Sharn is built on a manifest zone with Syrania, Eberron's plane of elemental air, and as a result magics that uses the power of wind has WAY greater power there. This is the reason why Sharn's towers can rise so high and why you can't use the sky cab outside Sharn.
Actually it was hobgoblins.
"Hobgoblins have always formed the foundation of Dhakaani society, from its beginnings to the present day."
archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20040816a
Well the Dhakaani was a society of Goblinoids (i.e Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears), while Hobgoblins were the primary intellectual/leadership caste of the Dhakaani the goblins would have been the one to build the city. Also it’s theorized that the Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears are basically magically altered version of some original Goblinoid race that altered their own physiology to be better suited to different tasks. And probably most importantly each caste/race would have all lived together, the idea of a society of only Hobgoblins, Goblins, or Bugbears would have been unthinkable to the Dhakaani and only happened because the Dalkyr fundamentally scrambled their psychology.
always wondered what ph is silent mean pls someone enlighten me
