Anyway, yes, I put up some photos last year of my home-brew Bennett Hook. Not sure I recall where on the Buzz it was but a search may find them. It seems like the biggest drawback is trying to hook the rope onto it when it's over the limb. Would more hooks like a grapnel help? I guess it just takes skill and patience. Very cool idea though - I've been reticent to go for the captain hook because of the fear of not being fully connected - this seems to be a neat solution. Thanks again for the video!
I use a traditional chain hook solid steel hook with the eye hole at the base. I throw it over branches and whip the rope 8nto the hook part and the friction and weight 9f rope as well ad weight loaded on the rope keeps itin place and unable to come loose. Just un weight 5he cord and whip the rope to pop 8t outa the hook and works great for progress capturing, main rope climbing, and repelling
I wish you would talk more about what your doing and why. From my perspective I see a lot of connecting and disconnecting and a bunch of gear I’m trying to learn about with out any words from you.
How do you like this compared to the DMM Captain Hook? Was looking at the DMM, but then csme across this device. This device looks a bit more versatile, and easier to retrieve? Would I be correct with that assumption? Thank you 😊
Is that a rope grab with a pinto pulley bolted to it that u are using for progress capture?

Two spliced tight eye wire rope, Carabiner , DIY small grappling hook on a end .

The Bennett looks more secure than Captain Hook.
