no one really offers a quot on quote rebuild kit lots of [parts for the trans are no longer reproduced but some there's a few options out now its just catching them in-stock or getting in on a preorder modern performance caries some parts liberty gear, realtune, and pwerks if you have an issue it will need pulled apart to see whats needed if i have extra parts i do offer them
Any seal I always cover with a little bit of grease or a lube dry start up can cause premature ware and failure and if it’s the in put /retainer press out like I did and press back in
I have an issue with my transmission. I can go into all gears fine except I can't down shift into 2nd when the car is moving. All gear shifts are fine except it refuses to go into 2nd when the car is moving no matter what I do. Then I'll stop the car go into 1st, start moving and shift into 2nd no problem from 1st. Any idea what that could be? I just finished the engine rebuild and the transmission is the next to get rebuilt unless you have any ideas. It already has the new shifter cables I got from you. New dcr clutch pedal push rod and it had an act clutch installed before I got it. Thanks for the help and great video as always keep it up
Well I’m not a transmission expert, but I’d say the 2nd gear blocking ring is worn or there’s an issue with the Synchronizer assembly or the gear has ware, but you would need to dissemble it to see

@@grownnotflown2 no I have not, I’ve used a couple different brands of atf+4 over the years but a certain type of fluid has to conform to a standard. There’s only 2 real seals and they are for the cv axels I’ve herd of different fluids causing damage to the blocking ring material in other manual transmissions
@@Mattsneedforspeed - Cindy from FWD Performance recommended the same thing as Ed Peters, the Chrysler transmission expert (passed away 2018, RIP), and that's the Mobile One High Mileage (must be the high mileage) 5W30 engine oil in the transmission. If I remember right it was due to a zinc and phosphorous content, "zddp" or something like that. I've ran it in my rebuilt transmission from FWD now for a year. I hate though that these transmissions shift so hard.
I've never heard of the bearing on the differential going out, very odd. That's an extremely stout differential. If a bearing goes out it's usually one of the needle bearings, like what I dealt with. The T850 is getting harder and harder to find, keep everything you've got, if you plan on keeping the car. I bought my SRT4 CE new, I'll never ever sell it. But that transmissions scares me, as much as the plastic dash and what it might look like in 40 years. The truly sad thing is that the Gertrag manual out of the GT Cruiser is far and away better. I suppose that's why Gertrag is still around (and will be for a long time) and why New Venture Gear went broke.
I have over 20 t-850 transmissions at the moment and lots of parts i am looking in to one with a liberty shaft for my higher hp orange build im working on right now

nope as time goes buy parts are getting harder to source some company's have some but not all depending on what you need used my be the only option
