NASA's Parker Solar Probe Touches The Sun For The First Time
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 гру 2021
- For the first time in history, a spacecraft has touched the Sun. NASA’s Parker Solar Probe has now flown through the Sun’s upper atmosphere - the corona - and sampled particles and magnetic fields there.
The new milestone marks one major step for Parker Solar Probe and one giant leap for solar science. Just as landing on the Moon allowed scientists to understand how it was formed, touching the very stuff the Sun is made of will help scientists uncover critical information about our closest star and its influence on the solar system.

It was nice to hear some positive corona news
🤣👍
Brilliant! ☀️😎
I'm surprised that there are no more jokes like that.
@@v-sig2389 lets go brandon
I thought that "positive" corona news is bad news. Negative corona news is good news. 😂
It is *ABSOLUTELY AMAZING* that an unmanned probe can pass _that close_ to our Sun and *CONTINUE FUNCTIONING.*
Unbelievably Amazing
I'd say it would be even more amazing if we could do it with a manned probe.
@NoWayJose Right?!? NASA also has ocean front property in Arizona!
It's all lies.

And it is still going closer. I've read that in 2025 it's supposed to approach within 10 solar radii, and when doing so it's supposed to reach a record speed (for all manmade objects) of 430,000 mph (0.00064c).

Hats off to editor and guy who created animations, it made super easy to normal people like me understand this easily
Thats all they can show you, animations and illustrations.
NASA: 90% animation, 5% hogwash and 5% of actual footage.
As other people said, that's what NASA do. I don't mean that in a negative conspiratory way though, just that it's impossible to show it any other way. NASA are great at making things easy to understand through illustrations.

Wonder what materials were used to make this probe, since it could withstand such temperatures, electric and magnetic fields.
Good questions. Lets learn something! I would like to know as well.
It traveled through millions of degrees and only got as hot as a candle. That’s some genius engineering
That's some genius marketing, how DF could they travel millions of miles away and nothing flying around in space would not destroy it? People are so dumb its ridiculous
