Thanks for being direct and to the point with this. I was excited for Fnaf plus, but whatever happens now is ultimately out of our hands. I'm glad that Phil can finally seek help and all parties can hopefully recover from this, but it just sucks seeing the entire game go down the drain and probably be forgotten about

i think phis dropping the project is 100% the best move. a lot of people are saying hes a dick for stringing along a game for 3 years, but ultimately its clear what happened is he _lost interest,_ and he was hoping everyone else would too. i genuinely think its kind've unhinged behavior to be so caught up on a random fnaf fangame that you insult a mans CHARACTER because he didnt make a special little toy for you - promised or not. it seems like behavior from people who have never endured making an artistic project in their life lmfao.

Tbh, I think the issues stopped being with Fnaf plus and Fnaf opinions in general once it started being about Phis's behavior. Like, it's wrong to judge someone's character based on fnaf opinions, but I really don't blame people for getting mad at him over how he handled this situation.
As for Fnaf takes, tbh, the only thing I can really add there is that modern Fnaf fans are totally allowed to defend what they like as long as they aren't horrible about it. Like, the joke about saying "Well, that was boring" about Fnaf+ was genuinely pretty funny all things considered.

TL;DR
Phisnom's personality was as grating as Justin Roiland's, and people were so sick of it and his personal beef against Steel Wool that regardless of what controversy occurred, it was guaranteed to terminate his involvement in anything FNaF related from there on.
and honestly, if he hated fnaf so much why did he hype up the freaking game for 3 years just to take it down, im tired of this crap.
@@monsterousproductions6047 I would say some of the biggest fnaf haters were the people most excited for the new release because of the expectations being so high and steel wool promising so much. Also scott giving them the green light when he was known for shooting down a lot of pitches was something people thought would finally bring fnaf into the future.

Phisnom strikes me as the type to be offensively apathetic, which in and of itself isn't really a bad thing. Those lucky few that are able to do and say whatever the hell they want to without fear of backlash from "the people" are usually really cool and respectable, Phis included
his fans aren't his problem. Anything he could have said would have stopped *some* of the threats by the over-defensive fans... but as this is the internet, there were bound to be those that wouldn't have listened regardless. And I think he knew that, or at least thought he knew that.
I wouldn't say Phis's online personality was ver "cool and respectable," but that's just me.
They were way too in their own head with their opinions on other games and their streams. It's plenty weird for a game developer to start a streaming career and also criticize other games and the people behind them. People see it as a conflict of interest and in poor taste.

From what I've seen and heard, the situation wasn't purely "another Twitter moment", but it was also partially due to Phisnom's actions, personality, and the way he was generally being in the fanbase he seemed to no longer care about.
I mean, he wasn't just "sharing his thoughts" on Security Breach Ruin, but he was intentionally making the experience of it worse for his viewers by skipping parts of it, avoiding any lore-related or "scary moments", adding loud sounds/music/videos, random crap, and so on.
And when people finally get on him for acting so "rude", he simply ignores them in an apathetic manner.
This only got him, his fanbase, and the FNAF community around him in more trouble when FNAF fans (kids, teens, etc...) were being sent gore and s\/icide videos and he act like it was all a joke and mocked the FNAF community for "not sending him any videos" of this stuff, which only made things worse.
Being a jerk online isn't really illegal, but it'll still get you in a lot of trouble all the same. And I think Phisnom took it too far.
His online persona/avatar is literally a toxic sludge-like cartoon humanoid, but he didn't control it well enough and now no one will get to experience FNAF Plus.
I know this may be "for the best" for him to never release the game and leave Twitter and the FNAF community, but it kind feels unfair considering these were HIS actions that helped caused this mess in the first place. He was a part of his own downfall and stoking the flames of anger and hate against him, and now the fans who have been waiting expectantly and eagerly will never get to see the game simply because of a few simple, stupid decisions a Fanverse Dev made, along with a Social Media Platform's average personality.
Correct me if im wrong over here, but from what i heard he was kinda forced to play a game he doesn't want to play so in turn ig he had a bad time playing it cause he really didn't want to play it in the first place( i also remember him mentioning it on stream) so im not entirely surprised he decided the ruin the fnaf ruin stream, since he wanted to probs troll the ones forcing him to play. Either way its kinda funny cause the end result is titled: "Ruining the fnaf ruin game stream"
If you had watched his stream he started off giving it credit where due. He isn't Matt Patt, why must he be lore centric? I know people who play Pokémon just to collect Pokémon, they don't ev or Iv train, are they in the wrong? No, they aren't. Phisnom made sarcastic comments like, "was that the mimic"? These comments was his way of keeping himself entertained. He obviously was bored, but since he was asked to play it he provided. If you believe a content creator must cater to their audience's every need, you don't realize they are human too. Plus, his fucking theme is toxicity, and that steam was the most mild toxicity, if it can even be called that. The fnaf community was sensitive, and phisnom followed his character big woop

Tbh, while his criticisms of Security Breach weren't bad, I've never really liked Phisnom. I'm sure he's a nice person irl, but his online presence has always rubbed me the wrong way. He just seems like an obnoxious jerk who cares more about his ego than actually finishing his fangame (one that I used to be excited for, but even before the controversy I just felt bored with). In a lot of ways, Phisnom reminds me a lot of Yanderedev (even down to someone basically completing his game before he does), and if someone reminds me on Yanderedev, they're probably doing something wrong.
I ultimately do still feel bad for him since he's definitely going through something, and it's nice to see that he'll be prioritzing his mental health over anything else, but unfortunately, I can't say that I'll exactly miss him. And I feel like kind of a jerk for saying that ngl. Regardless, I just hope things get better in the fnaf community, since this sort of thing seems to be the majority of stuff that happens right now.
You shouldn't feel like a jerk for saying your opinions, I think he's just a complete twat who doesn't care about fnaf or Scott whatsoever and believes that he's smarter then everyone else just because he has an opinion that not many other people agree with. I know I'm gonna sound like a knob for saying this but I think him being cancelled is for the better, along with all the other pricks like Theftking and Uhyeah etc, as I believe that they're doing more harm to fnaf than anyone they claim are doing so.

I was more so getting at that he's definitely spent more time acting immature online than he has working on the game that he's been spending so much time developing. Granted I'm not saying that he should dedicate all of his time to the game or anything, I just hesitate to call him a legit game developer.

Btw if you are a dev and do this then you have to actually back up your words with actions and usually that means your game stays in unfinished project limbo until you basically make the perfect game.

While I get that Phisnom being a toxic person is part of his "personality", there should've been a point where he could've atleast toned it down a bit and knew when to keep certain things to himself.
Even if he didn't like SB, Ruin, and the current state of FNAF as a whole, he shouldn't have let that negative side of him affect the development of the game he was working on as a whole.
While Phisnom has been involved in numerous controversies in the past, they were all minimal in comparison to this one, as it was something that he couldn't just block his way out of.
He was basically on his way to pulling an Idubbz where his funny toxic personality breeds an audience of toxic harassers and before they know it they can't control them anymore or they might abandon him. Also the streaming and complaining made it really easy for him to end up hyping up his game to not be as bad as the games he plays which often mean his game ends up in a longer development cycle as making a perfect game takes a lot longer than just making one that has some mistakes.

Phisnom didn't get involved with the situation with th minor who was horribly harassed by his fanbase until he needed to to cover his ass. Kid asked for help, got sent a Rick Roll by Phis, and then blocked the child being harassed. Even liked some of the tweets harassing the kid. He did not care until he know it would nevatively reflect on him. I feel no sympathy for him whatsoever, and I hope he falls off for good. I know the events were stated in the video, but the age of the one being harassed was not while is definitely should have been. Phisnom let a child get harassed that much until other people got onto him.
I hope that the Fanverse is discontinued after the remaining games in it are published. Scott very clearly does not care enough to even look into the people he let in, if he did a lot of things would'v been avoided. Not everyone in this fandom is bad, but there's too many awful people in it for this community to keep thriving. I hope the Fanverse issues eventually break this entire fandom down.

Dude. Phisnom did like nothing really wrong and the fans ended up screwing over something that could have actually could have been good. All because some diehard babies decided to get all pissy about him not liking modern FNaF. And him taking 3 years is fine, because the other games took almost as long and there was tons of progress. Also he was under contract so he couldn't have just lost interest and stopped working on it. I admit Phisnom could have maybe done some things differently but come on. People turning on him including Scott (I'm not mad at Scott though) but like fans really got FNaF Plus cancelled.

The only thing i really don't like is lostpaw making it. I genuinely would have rather gotten no game at all than another guy completely stealing assets, naming the game "Fnaf Plus" by lostpawplay, getting posted everywhere by nearly every youtuber as if it's the actual game, and not crediting phisnom anywhere within the game. And people praise it, but it is nearly mechanically identical to fnaf 1. The ONLY thing unique about it was phisnom's ideas and designs, the rest of it was beyond mediocre. I would have rather been like "I wish fnaf plus came out, man that sucks" than to see the ideas taken from someone else's work and executed poorly and the credit given to someone that doesn't deserve it. He wasn't really. He acted like an apathetic asshole in the harassment situation and people (including his own friends) got pretty upset with him over it, which caused him to decide he needs a break. I'm sure he'll be fine once he's back, and I can definitely relate to how stressful being in the middle of a toxic community is, so I hope he can find a bit more stability than he's had in this whole shitshow.

@@kikikutie12 He made fun of the harassment of a minor, indirectly encouraging death threats and gore posts to that minor even though it was never his intention, and even blocked the minor’s several accounts who was trying to talk with him even making alts due to being blocked and was trying to calm down the situation but he didn’t care and was being his typical internet asshole self. He was really being incredibly stupid, not being vile or directly encouraging people to Harris, (he’s actually quite the nice human being irl), he’s just an idiot for not realizing how serious the situation had gotten and he continued to fire the flame. So lots of people, even his friends were very disappointed when he didn’t just diffuse the situation, but made it worse and maybe the second worse way possible. His asshole persona caught up with him, and it’s no one’s faulty but his, he should have seen this coming. i saw a video that was just a post on twitter saying "a fnaf fan who doesnt even like fnaf, and is obnoxious about it too" or something along those lines, and every comment was just phisnom's profile pic. after hearing this, i can tell that its just the entire fnaf fandom being toxic little babies who cant handle someone not liking their precious game series anymore, after it has been thoroughly scrubbed through the mud. fandoms have in the past ruined a lot of the things i enjoyed. fnaf included. i started to believe that its cringe, and lets be real here: it pretty much is. but thats not the fault of fnaf, its the fault of all of the fans who put fnaf everywhere on every corner of the internet.
fnaf is i think a product of it's time. it was simple, charming, and effective. now its extremely complicated, with a story that seems to take one step forward and 3 steps back with every entry into the series, and gameplay that with security breach, got completely flipped on it's head and is now a weird mess. not to mention the massive tonal shift removing nearly all of the fear factor from the game, and the countless bugs and issues it had [and still has].

To be honest, I did somewhat like Phil before he got too big, and I was genuinely excited for Plus, but I think what his leaving revealed is that he's just not a particularly interesting bloke. His deflections about being anti-growth are particularly weird. Someone like Running Shine is an actual anti-growth UA-camr, they focus on making videos that they feel like making when they feel like it. UA-camrs who are against growth don't make streams such a regular thing, they don't have frequent crossovers with large figures in the community, they don't hold self-agrandising charity events. The fact that he returned like, three months after his big departure only further proves the mess of it all. Phil may have been edgy, but he was edgy for the sake of being "different", not because he enjoyed it, and I'd wager that's why a lot of his later content was becoming so hollow, even before the big sperg-out. He wanted to stand out in the community, but at the same time, he wanted to be marketable and adored. As a result, he was too rough for the typical Fnaf audience and too safe to retain the attention of people who enjoy edgier, more down to earth content. You can't cultivate a somewhat edgier audience and then pull a "but muh mentals; I'm learning and growing, I promise" when things get tough.
Tbh, this wouldn't all happen if they just kept Phisnoms opinions about Ruin for himself.

Fnaf + would've been 3 years by this point, assuming development started immediately at it was announced. But yeah, to boil down details, phisnom tweeted 'well that was boring' after finishing ruin, with someone then tweeting that 'well that was boring' should be posted after fnaf + released as a joke.
Tbh, the joke that the modern fnaf fan made about fnaf+ being boring was actually really funny. Like, I personally think a lot of the stuff to come out of modern fnaf is pretty good, but I don't think a lot of his critiques are bad. That being said, this kind of stopped being about fnaf opinions once he made the immature response. While he doesn't have control over his fans, it still would have said a lot for him to just come out and say that he didn't like what they were doing. I'm pretty sure he himself has actually made that point when talking about Kane Carter (who tbh, is also kind of on thin ice at this point).
He indirectly encouraged the harassment of a minor, and his fan base is pretty bad in general, it’s his fault for not seeing this coming. It wasn’t his fault in the beginning, but it was fruit by the time he joked about death threats and gore posts to a minor and blocked that minor when he should have diffused the situation, he was very stupid, I hope he learns from it.

You know that its BAD when people are literally sending videos of people dying and sending death threats to a guy over being a little upset. The fnaf community has gone to shit, and I want no part in it anymore if it continues being like this. The community is as immature as a newborn child, (which is what it mostly consists of at this point), and the movie was too goofy and abandons what made fnaf good, not to mention how horrid security breach was. Phisnom was right on that part. And I can't blame him for wanting to leave. He had every right to and was clearly unhappy with everything going on.

That's the thing though, it wouldn't have been such a piece of drama if he'd done nothing about it, after all he didn't sicc the fans on the person they were harassing. Had he just stayed out of it it wouldn't have been a whole drama, but then he did end up getting involved only to make several jokes about the situation (in which somebody was allegedly getting sent gore and death threats), which is just tasteless.
He didn't do anything heinous but if you as a creator find out your fans are relentlessly harassing someone why would you make jokes about the situation? You're not actively making the situation worse sure but you are basically telling the whole community that you don't care if your fans harass someone, which isn't a great look. All he had to do was either say nothing, or speak up and at least communicate that harassment isn't cool. The bar wasn't that high and he failed it anyway.
That's not to say he himself deserves that vitriol instead, god no, but the legitimate criticism and disappointment he did receive from the community was very warranted. Either way he himself has since admitted he screwed up and he's taking a break now so I wish him all the best and hope he comes back feeling less stressed out than these past years have evidently had him feeling.
