The lobby system sounds cool in theory, But feels like it could become a hassle long term. On one hand I love how it would encourage people to be social to find matches as if it was an irl board game place or competitive arcade, On the other hand, I don't wanna do that with children who are without a doubt gonna be the biggest audience of this game. I dislike that the game studio is so intent on keeping the Gorilla Tag movement system. They started creating this game due to echo shutting down, so any one who played that is intended audience, and if you don’t like Gorilla tag, you’re gonna be disappointed af. I want to like this game but I can’t. It’s not just about simply disliking the movement either, but that my play style PHYSICALLY doesn’t allow to play the game and I don’t have the space as well. I sit with my back against the wall. So I can’t move my hands down like that without hitting the floor and walls. I could play echo because I only needed in front and sides, not the floor and behind (I say behind because to propel yourself you need to pull your hands behind). Either way I’ll give it ago. Just wish they chose a more accessible play style instead of something so niche and annoying
This game is NOT the same movement as gorilla tag, if you finished the video you would see that while yes you need to move your arms, it’s not gorilla tag like at all, you can totally play Orion drift in any space you could play echo, as long as you can move your hands down in front of you you can play pretty well
I did finish the video, and wouldn’t have made my comment if I didn’t think it looked the same. You’ve actually played the game though, so I’ll take your word for it. I know there’s carving (I believe that’s what you called it) to turn, but can you uses the joy stick to? If yes, I’m assuming there’s smooth turning, how sensitive can you get it?
Just letting you know, there are wrist boosters and there will be a zero gravity game mode that will likely involve throwing a ball like we saw in echo and early builds of Orion. Driftball might not be for you, but there will be other modes to play
Carving doesn’t use any buttons, I describe how in this video but if you missed it, you have to swing your arm around your body to carve, but you can use smooth turn if you’d like, and yes you use your arms but you * roll * so it’s simalar but very different from gtag
