I downloaded Upcomer because of this video. Keep making great content!
Blitz Esports Overwatch for real tho the quality of your videos is fuckin amazing. I just hope in* the future you guys can make more vids
Edit*
Blitz Esports Overwatch All very good tips. 4k mercy here. I would add using jump after guardian angel. You can use this ability to get in great positions.
Whenever I tell my team “I’m going to Valk, stay together,” they scatter like pigeons
Mylonius omg saaame..i feel u😭😭
I hear ya.
😂😂😂 Omg
Same with Zen alts. Its like, 'hey, you need healing but deserve to die'
Not knowing to go towards a zen alt is a special type of stupid
that's why I only use it when all o almost all of them are together
“When you’re making mistakes as Mercy, it doesn’t matter how good your team is, you’re probably going to lose”
EXACTLY my man. As a Mercy main, I understand how crucial she is. Aside from Rez. If she dies it’s a huge shift in team power.
enzobadia don’t slip your finger off of Left cLick and ur automatically top 500 ;)
Dumpster Did you even watch the video?
"coincidentally, it doesn't matter how good you are at mercy, if your team doesn't do anything, then you're probably going to lose." -Me, 2018
You can only heal so hard, if your team doesn't utilize your healing, then it feels like you are just standing there.
Dick Johnson What’s your rank?
enzobadia and no matter how much I heal my teammates, if they’re trash, there is no way my 20k+ healing can save their ass
This dude is amazing on mercy, the way he uses her mechanics and even her pistol. The man has Big Brains.
DPS and Tank mains, please listen to 4:05
wortyle naw I'm blading at 80hp and I expect a pocket
Mercy mains please listen to the last part.
Aidan Kim lol
im a tank main, and im always trying to stay in the support vision. I mean, i know if im too far away and die alone without killing someone, its all my fault.
spamming i need healing behind a mercy only for her to not look or even make an attempt to figure out where i am doesn't count as a weird position.
4:12 To all the dps mains who think they can 1v6 then lose and blame me for healing.
Teddychaos typical plats. Don’t worry with them.
Lucas Proco yeah, but the amount of passive-aggressive "good teammate" endorments and the spamming of thanks and the hate comments are really annoying the fuck out of me loll
Lucas Proco I'm in Plat and this is so true!😂😂
AT LAST A MERCY GUIDE! Seriously, every guide I've seen of mercy leaves out some things or just doesnt go into depth over some aspects of Mercy play, unlike a lot of guides with DPS or tanks. Ive had to learn lots of what makes a good Mercy through trail and error. Ive been told I do good heals and am a great Mercy, which is what my friends know me for. I'm lv 600 and im high plat currently, so I'm happy to finally have someone explain the way you need to split your attention when you play Mercy. Mercy is a very attention-splitting hero, where you need to pay attention to every hero on your team, as well as the heroes on the other team for ults and telling signs of them ulting. I think that is the hardest part of playing a good Mercy.
Meh, you can't learn a hero from a single guide. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know about thr cancel/hop tech, but other than that it seems to be pretty basic. I'd suggest just watching Animetic. She explains everyrhing she does and why she does it, so you become better because of the knowledge you gather during her vids.
The reason why keeping prefer beam target on is better is because if you keep your beam on someone and they go around a wall or break los, you can still fly to them. I think it's super helpful especially on Illios Well if you slingshot in the well to make space to regen if you're low.
peachiplum I personally think there is only one or two scenarios where having it on would be better than having it off, so it's not worth it. With that said, everyone is used to different things, so it's up to what the player preferers. (also omg Joy yes KWWEEEEENN)
두 니 야Dounia Yes I completely agree! My first 100 hours with Mercy I had it off, I turned it on since I can't trust it when it comes to my teammates to not leave me to die haha~ And YES! Joy is my sunshine I love her sm :)))
Same. I played a ton with it not preferring beam target when I first started but changed it and feel like I am WAY more mobile than I ever was before. Plus it's not hard to swap targets. It's easy to glance away and break the beam if you want to go to someone else.
Honestly from all the guidance he share,to toggle beam off is the most "Wooww.." thing I cant beleive he recommend it,well,he's pro we are not,but def I will keep beam on.
I keep it off. I think it's just whatever your most comfortable with. Both have good benefits.
Mercy-“hero’s never die”
*proceeds to kill 1/3 of enemy team
*audience claps
So she kills 2 people.
Proud to have a fellow spaniard on the top Overwatch League
When people say that carpe carries fusion.
Avi Moses i mean he does? there’s a reason why london targeted him throughout the finals and even throughout the whole season he would always pick up 2 kills from out of nowhere when they lost either fragi or neptuno. btw contract extensions are being made today carpe will probably get the biggest contract in the whole league maybe along with jjonak.
r/woosh
carrot and Shadowburn is going to get Traded, really sad that Carpe and him wont play together anymore, they we're the best dps Duo alongside Profit and Birdring
Official TedCruz fuck.my.mobile. xd
Aidan Kim Dude i ment Shadowburn, the User who i replied to was carrot fjsbsvakagsz
Bonus:If you slingshot to a teammate who is even on a slightly higher altitude than you (like a step or if they're jumping) you can launch yourself REALLY high and reach positions that would be difficult to reach otherwise. If you need reference, watch Animetic's Super Jump Montage,Rise.
It CAN still be done on targets lower than you, but the timing is harder to gauge and it's a lot more difficult to execute successfully.
But yes, Superjump completely revolutionised my Mercy gameplay. I went from a pretty good, relatively helpful Mercy, to a force to be reckoned with. All because Superjump.
Loved the tips, a lot more to Mercy than meets the eye
Lesson learned: Always keep your pistol out for maximum battle mercy
I solo que on PS and gave up on mercy .. I play Moira and Brigitte now since I can protect myself. Yesterday on a comp match I kept getting chased by Tracers and Winstons and no one did shit to help. When I try to rez somrone, team splits up and again no one gives a damn. No hope
I you want to be a good mercy you have to be able to survive to dps Even without your team help
Julián Rozenszajn I feel you... Especially when you try healing your teammates, but they die within seconds and have nowhere to go¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Guess I'll die.
@@Arai_Somnia You can super jump off a teammate's corpse
This is my favorite channel to learn more and get better in owerwatch
I hope more Mercy players watch videos like this. I've ran into so many Mercy mains that struggle with one or two particular things because they just don't know any better or they haven't addressed a habit.
Honestly i feel like that 1st clip is what made ppl go "ok the OWL is gonna be dope". I may be bais as a fusion fan but that clip makes me hype every time.
Prefer bean target has helped me a lot more than anything, depends on how you see and use it but it’s just a player’s preference. A lot of what you’re saying is basically how I use mercy but this give me more tips, so thank you for this video!
I use GA prefers beam Target because it allows you to use GA without looking where you want to go. For example you can GA backwards, do a 360 spin during, and bunny hop into a new direction. Also you can GA to someone around objects. I've been running from flankers and jumped off the map to the point where I can't see my team but if my beam is still connected I can fly back up and onto the map.
Off is still better, as you can heal other targets than your GA target while GAing between targets. For example I can heal my Zen while I'm flying to my Pharah and vice versa. Your heals are not dependent on your movement or position. With GA prefers beam target you can only heal the target you're flying to which is less flexible and more predictable. And additional to that, it also fucks up your GA more often, as you'll GA to the wrong target if you detach your beam only a split second to late. Other top Mercys like EeveeA also prefer to have GA prefers beam target off, but I guess in the end both playstyles can be used in competitive play and are valid somehow (Animetic for example uses GA prefers beam target on, if I recall correctly).
TheAlexHelbig Yeah I get that you can heal and fly at the same time giving you more healing options and a bit more range of who to fly to when healing someone else but being able to juke a genji or tracer constantly pressuring you is better for me. Flying backwards, back onto the map without seeing anyone, around poles, looking one way while flying another (I find tracers, genji, d.va, etc will often just follow whichever way you're looking to catch you), being able to move at the press of a button without even looking where, and that's just to namee a few of the benefits I've found. There are draw backs like loosing a bit of healing flying to a new person because you have to break beam (I use a melee attack to break my beams), not being able to chain GA's together to cover long distances while healing, and rarely a accident fly to the beam Target when you didn't mean to are the main ones I've had. The benefits out way the draw backs to me tho.
I still prefer off because that kind of save comes at the cost of many failed GAs. Especially if you're running Pharmercy. Keeping it off allows me to keep mobility up & I die way less. Also, as Neptuno was describing, healing one team member and looking away from them is one of the best tips you can get, and having beam target off is going to be critical to taking full advantage of that.
NinjaE3 I sometimes have it on because 2 reasons its what Im used too and it helps me for when like I’m falling down a well or etc. Im practicing with it off
Sami B. You can still do that having it off, you damage boost pharah while looking to the ground to see if your team needs healing, while healing the team you look up and see if pharah needs healing. Its not hard to disconnect your beam :p
A mercy guide from my favorite person on my favorite team! So sad we couldn’t win the playoffs but go Fusion! (And neptuno!)
Overwatch will have peaked when Battle-Mercy becomes the meta.
Physical Manifestation of Cancer Then it’s already past the peak-
It almost happened.... And it was not a good state.
Nothing but respect to Neptuno he is better than I will ever be and I learned a lot from the video but I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he said you need good aim to play mercy
Brennen May If you only have around 2 seconds to kill someone before continue healing you shouldnt miss any shots
Brennen May he's the deadliest Mercy in the game, if he says you should do something with the gun, you listen.
When Caducus pistol speaks, you listen.
Nib Playz deadliest, but not the best
Dan Mesri who cares, hes a pro player who made it to the grand finals.
I'm hoping for an OWL playoffs tactics video soon
I put the prefer beam target on so I can hide in the holes/and edges and if I am falling off I can just GA back on
I've never turned off prefer bean Target cause say I'm healing sombra she translocates back, I'm still connected for half a second I then press guardian angel and can fly to her direction and if I'm stuck in a wall I can press jump to fly up or farther away, I also use my heal beam as a grapple kinda like widow idk I find these things super useful and allows me to stay mobile
I like prefer beam target because it makes me feel safe being connected to someone I just press the button and go back to them if I sense danger or if I'm stuck on something but I'll try without
Still waiting for dem tournament reviews.
2:55 Some people do this, becauce you can make some cool tricks with the option on on, for example you can fly to someone, even if he is behind a wall. Both options have some pro and cons and you should play what works better with your way to play Mercy, there are a lot of GM Mercys who have the option on on (i dont say its better, i say it isnt always bad to turn it off)
4k mercy. All really good tips. I would add using your jump boost. Pressing space after using guardian to jump to better positions.
Martin s he litrally dedicates a whole portio of the video to that
bigggg boy neptuno
Omg when i saw Neptuno i was shoook and so happy that he was that mercy that only heals. When i saw him dps i was surprised because i do that so many times. And i never saw a pro player do it. ^-^
Lol a positive and serious Mercy guide.
Who else loves lfg?
Edward Mulligan who uses it
What do you mean "who uses it"? Unless you want to play with throwers, LFG is the best thing you can use to avoid stupid people. SoloQ is literally full of throwers atm.
Butter Blammz What you mean who uses it. I can que for a game in 5 seconds in lfg, I've heard the average for SoloQ is about 4-5 minutes.
Butter Blammz who uses it? Uh everyone if u don't want a team of five throwers ..
Nice
Grande neptunoo jajaja
Jajajajaja ese Neptuno hablando inglés como un crack jajajajajaj
Jajajjaja
you are doing a great duty for us
He said he doesn't understand why people use "Prefer Beam Target". It's because you can Guardian Angel to targets if your beam is on them without needing LoS. Saves Mercy ALL THE TIME. How does he not know this.
Liberty Prime honestly it all boils down to personal preferences 🙂
I don't use prefer bc that's just my way of using her.
His teammates are usually in positions where they don't LOS him, he also positions so he very infrequently loses LOS. The advantage of turning prefer beam target off is quite significant, you are able to heal any target while flying safely to a seperate player. Being able to heal an ally who needs healing is far more useful than having to stop healing them just to save yourself.
He plays with people that are extremely well organized so he doesn't need to leave it on.
On unorganized teams prefer beam on is a must IMO. It just saves your butt way too many times not to use it. Dead Mercy is not healing and cannot rez, I rather stop healing for half a second to use GA and then reconnect.
It gives you mobility without the need of line of sight.
People that use voice chat well probably don't need to leave it on though, just say "MERCY IS FALLING HELP HER!" or "Genji go a little to your right so I can see you" and it might work.
This was super helpful. Thank you for helping us noobs.
I hate 2 CP maps as any healer but especially Mercy with no one in the air to fly to. '-'
Neptuno looks like Johnna Ray.
The healer fail the team fail
Where is fernando?
He is currently with another guy in a male restroom.
Tun J
Neptuno is actually god?
Neptuno is to big brain for me but love his accent.👌🏽
Now i know how to play mercy😉 obviously.... Who dsnt whant to learn from the best
Just w and m1
Neptuno died so many times in the finals
EVERYONE should be required to view the entirety of this video, before they're allowed to play the game, so that they can better understand what us Mercy mains are trying to do, and more importantly, NOT DO. If your team is disorganized, Mercy is useless, which is when I switch to Moira or Zen.
Toggle beam off? Y
James Tell me the advantages of having it on
heisann you can change targets slightly faster and you don’t have to hold the button all day to heal
there's no reason to having to hold down the button. You can concentrate more on your movement instead of having to white-knuckle the M1. I'd turn on the toggle beam, you should have a beam on someone 95% of time, you might as well make it easier on yourself.
Dick Johnson But also, if you’re healing someone and want to switch to dmg boosting them, you have to look at them, so It’s easier with toggle off
BattieMercy? *starts hyperventilating*
The sad thing is that most dps are hot garbage in solo que so it doesn’t really matter
well, valk is useless for other things - better pull that weapon
Did this man say u need to have good aim to play mercy!!!!!
If you only have 2 seconds to kill an enemy trying to flank you yes you do. Plus he's a pro player so I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about.
This whole video is only applicable if you are literally on an OWL team. If you're playing ladder, disregard this entire thing and use Moira instead.
Dick Johnson or not. Mercy actually has utility in Rez and damage boost + she has overall the same amount of healing as Moira AND she's more mobile. Mercy is head and shoulders above Moira. If you think you need Moira because you want to fight people, play a dps.
This is a good meme...
This is a meme right?
Mercy Mains are a discriminated bunch.
Sabrina Jackson well yeah... It’s just a game but by god, if you’ve ever played competitive overwatch, team chats are absolute cespools
ew
Mercy is the easiest hero
mr Brig is easier imo. At least with Mercy there's a little bit of decision making going on with whether you should rez or not and if you should be damage boosting (and who should be damage boosted) or if you need to heal. With brig, you really just need to hand out armor when anyone is low, keep holding m1 and use your shield bash and whipshot to peel for the other healer.
No way bruh is easy lol u have to communicate when ur gonna shield bash rein have to have good reactions to shield bash genji or tracer when they are in ur back like u have to do animation cancel combo that’s much harder than mercy idk what skill level u at but high dia low masters brig is way harder that mercy I haven’t played in bronze like u so brig is probably easier at ur rank lol
Brig not bruh*
Mercy is a bit technical and others think she isn't. Well she is. I notice Dps who pick her up. They look so stiff while playing her...like there afraid to move or fly around. The reason for that is. She requires game sense instead of ''pew pew'' sense. Brig is much easier then mercy. Trust me. Mercy is more mobile and more prone to mistakes then brig if you mess up..
U need game sense for every hero lol Not just mercy that doesn’t make her harder if every hero requires it
mercy guide by the guy that lost you the final by getting pick in the begin of every single fight, sure kapp
Or you could see it as 'Asking the guy who got to the OWL finals. Probably not easy to play into London Spitfire and I don't think you would have done a better job
sometimes neptuno did some weird decisions which cost them maps
Mercy tips
1. Hold Mouse 1
Congrats, you can play Mercy like the pros!
Congrats you are in bronze as mercy. LOL.
let me correct your comment real quick
" Mercy tips
1. Hold Mouse 1
Congrats! you have absolutely no idea how to play the hero, yet you boast about her being so easy to play to make yourself look better. have fun dying all the time by stupidly thinking that all you have to do is to Hold Mouse 1 lol. "
PJSalt
You know, what he said was true. Mercy is the easiest character, A gm dps main could pick her up in less than 30 minutes.
Cyper shes easy to play like winston rein brig moira zen pharah, its all about making the best of it and how useful you are to the team. of course shes easy to play, so are other heroes but her skill floor is obviously the lowest compared to her skill ceiling
Wait wait wait. To battle mercy we need to aim, and everyone knows Mercy mains can't aim so-
