Love this song bro. You nailed it. I'm trying to learning it . I got so outa practice from not playing for a year my speed picking tires the forearm. Was using songster for tabs. Gona use your video now:)
@ShadowMantraSteve BTW I'm nailing it too. Wish I had a laptop and recording software.. I'm trying not to make faces playing lol. It's hard not to cause I do the same mouth expressions as you do. I think it's a natural thing. And it's bad ass. Thanks bro
Face expression 10/10 Make it look easy 12/10 Skills; i listen to ur gojira tab vids when i wanne hear the instrumental…. I look up to you as a guitar player 🤓
Btw sounds great. I love the guitar I always thought caddy’s were fugly but that color scheme makes it. If you love MLs and Paul’s well..I even had one in silver burst back before mastodon etc (I know tool and soundgarden started it) but it had a high fret so back to the store it went after a month
Thank you. I don't know why I'm drawn to caddys, just something a little different about. To answer your other question I normally take the drums from a guitar pro file on ultimate guitar and run the midi through Steven Slate Drums 4. Hope to eventually start working with real drums though.
Shadow Mantra Steve super helpful information. Ironically I found and subbed your channel because my card got stolen that ultimate guitar was payed with. So it didn’t even give me the shitty guess tabs. But this video had me feeling pretty solid after about an hour after hearing it so many times before...
I’m having trouble finding answers elsewhere, so here I am..I’m a pro member of ultimate guitar, how do I download the midi? Do I download a pdf and use a converter? Or is there a setting I’m missing
I download a guitar pro file, then in guitar pro you can export the file as a midi file. If you solo on track in guitar pro if only gives you the midi for that track rather than all of them.
It's a natural harmonic - I made a video explaining harmonics on guitar if you're interested! ua-cam.com/video/8x-XJ5iPA3Y/v-deo.htmlsi=UAxG6gm78JMR3lj5
Nice dude. Are there any effects like wah, whammy, phaser or something on the guitars? When i play by the tabs its like theres something missing that makes the notes swell, especially during the last part.
Thanks, I don't think I've got the original project folder but I don't think I added any effects to the main guitars. The melodic phrases probably have some delay and reverb on though. I play quite heavy handed with a fairly thick pick so some of it might be the strings bending so very slightly out of tune as I'm playing.
@@ShadowMantraSteve Thanks! Yeah that could be it, i think gojira mentioned they use the amps natural response for that too - not ultra tight and noisegated but a bit more loose and organic. Reverb and delay on some of the melodic stuff for sure, especially live. Really underrated song imo.
Thanks 🤘 personally it was just a case of building it up over time to build up the muscles and muscle memory. I find guitar pro very useful for building up speed as it can be set to increase speed gradually with each repeat.
Hey man, super awesome cover! ^^ But there are some mistakes in the outro :) I'm sure you are aware of that with songsterr and live vids on youtube in reach? ;)
Legend says you can’t play Gojira correctly without making this face
also known as "how to get that burning sensation in your right arm" xD great job man! Keep it up! \m/
Yup.... Along with backbone. And cheers 🤘
@@ShadowMantraSteve Explosia is actually harder for me in this way lol

@@ShadowMantraSteve and here's come "My Last Creation" who made my hands stop working properly for few nights
Legitimately the only person I've seen play it correctly other than Gojira. 10/10 my guy
Thank you 🤘🤘
Gojira got me galloping like a mf. Endless fun.
Singlehandedly one of my favourite gojira tracks. And you nailed it man. Breakdown and all. Good work 🤘🤘

What the hell is happening with the 5th string from 3:00 ?

@@ShadowMantraSteve how do you get that 5th fret harmonic so clean? or are you using your thumb to pinch? are you doing both?
So very nice 🤘🏼😁
Thank you 🤘
donde podemos encontrar el DRUM ONLY + BASS para tocar encima?
Usé un archivo midi para la batería y el bajo en mi video y lo reproduje a través de Logic Pro.
In the cuarentena... How afilate your axe... 👏👏👏😁
Amazing performance of an amazing song. Please do a video about different picking techniques specially trem picking if possible.
Should hopefully do some more lesson videos in the future

How long to program the drums?
Did you post these tabs anywhere? Definitely the most accurate ive seen.
I just uploaded them as a correction on ultimate guitar - tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/gojira/the-axe-guitar-pro-1186820

this is the first song i can play properly with gallops in it!OIO:@YLUKGg,xkj1d im so happy its so hard but really rewarding

Fantastic man, I've been struggling to get the gallop right (at high bpms)
Keep practicing. You'll get there 🤘
Killer!! /../.
Thank you 🤘
Dumb question: when you do the strumming at 0:18 do you slightly play the 5th string or do you strum it with the same intensity as the 6th string?
I try to keep my tremolo picking consistent across the strings

I'll have to check, it's a while since I looked at this song. Thanks for watching though 🤘
@@ShadowMantraSteve Love watching you play man! :)
What amp sim are you using? And are those the stock pups in that Dean?
Hiya, mainly the Le456 from LePou. Occasionally I use the ignite amps emissary amp as well. The Cadillac is all stock as well.
