I swear this place is gonna become some kind of registered English Heritage site after Sam departed from this world.
haha most probably not xD
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
...In the year 2525...
@@paolomargini7904I guess not many will pick up that reference !
Hopefully these steam engines don't go to the cutters torch and the breakers yard
Probably way too soon if he doesn’t replace those stairs. 😂
I am reminded of what my teacher said - "Quality is high when Quantity is low"... The room space is less, but the quality of your videos is always high and inspirational!
Just this afternoon I was thinking wouldn't it be wonderful if Sam did a loft tour, and here it is now. Thanks so much Sam for answering my silent prayers. 😉
haha great minds think alike then - hope you enjoy!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
YUP ! . . Wonderful . . Still wondering.
Though many have criticised the carpet and such, it is a highly important test of the durability of models. Thanks as always Sam!
haha I think so too - an unintended benefit!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam's carpet is legendary now! I can't think of a better known model railway carpet. Can you? 😂
@@kevfrombutterley it has grown to be in the same light as IC82’s famous skirting board. Both are legends in their own right.
YUP ! Liberal coating of Fibre and Dust on loco's, . . NO Problem !
i love watching these, especially when you see the pictures and spot yours is still on the roof, (Falcon B) 7:46
Very interesting tour. I am impressed with the way you work round the Roof Timber Struts, and do not let them hinder your use of all the space available.
Well, I have to say that this indeed was very interesting. Also, you have become an excellent presenter. Diction, flow of speech, and lack of stutter is impressive. With these attributes you probably save 3 to 5 minutes on each video. As for the space, I do think I would add shelfing between the trusses provided the lighting is not obscured but, lighting can always be moved. Keep up the great work and looking toward your next instalment.
You forgot to mention the all important slippers.. and where you've hidden Chloe 😂
She's behind one of the other three doors of course.
Thanks for the tour Sam. Yours was the first channel I picked up on when I returned to the hobby. Always good fun to join you and your production line is a credit. Keep up the good work and don't forget Chloe who brings so much to the railway too! Blessings
Hi Sam, nice to see what is going on in your attic, my train room is a mess also and I find it difficult to keep it organised. I think the reason is not putting things away as soon as I finish using them.
Storage of boxes can be challenging too and I should do a better job of that aspect and move them from the train room in an effort to declutter.
You have done a great job of being organised and have maximized your storage while maintaining a wide open space. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Regards
Charlie
The lofty highs of Sam''s trains !!!! :)
haha!!
Thanks Sam for the tour and letting us see some of the behind of the scenes as well.
Hi Sam that was a really nice video, you certainly have a lot of stuff 😊you are also a very nice chap to watch and listen too.Take care 👍
That was a fun tour. Thank you.
Sam, thank you for a great video. Putting the 'Elf and Safety' hat on , one thing I didn't see in your video is a fire extinguisher. Considering you only have one escape route (the ladder), and all of those 3D printers running for many hours a day then the risk of fire (and toxic fumes from a fire) is increased. It might be a good idea to get an extinguisher and position it by the ladder or on the exit route to the ladder. I hope this helps.
Do you review ladders now, too? You doing great but how many stars for quality and mechanism? 😅
Fascinating. Thanks so much.
This is cool! Thanks for the tour!!
Just a great tour, thank you very much Sam.
Fantastic tour and opens my mind to your world
Thanks for the tour Sam really enjoyed it 😊😊
Very impressive. Thanks for the tour
It's amazing to finally see a behind the scenes! Great video Sam.
Thank you for the Tour.👍👍
I loved seeing this tour.
Great video Sam. Really enjoyed how you manage to fit everything in.
what youve done is
amazing
This entire time I thought you were standing during the intros and outros...that you're not is an earth-shattering revelation. I guess I just thought the ceiling was really high!
Bloody great Sam
Thank you, Sam!
Amazing video Sam really enjoyed your studio tour.
Thank you for giving us a tour, Sam. Really interesting to see how you fit it all in.
Thanks for a peak behind the curtain.
Thank You for sharing this very informative video with us. Great Job utilizing your available space. You sure do keep yourself extremely busy!
Awesomeness Extreme!
Thanks Sam, a great tour giving wonderful ideas for storage. Best wishes.
Fantastic video, love this Sam!! Chris
Excellent presentation.
Lovely tour
Thanks for the tour Sam . ..............Peter
Your room looks great like a home studio, Sam🥰😍❤
Thanks for sharing your space there Sam! Its certainly a neat set up you've got there and I was especially impressed with the 3D printers you have.
Fair play that’s some room and some collection, great job
Good job Sam!!!
Ah, the stash is awesome! Great tour.🙂
Hi Mukka,
Where is Chloe's corner?
Thanks for sharing your studio/workshop/train room/storage centre!
Much appreciated.
Get your mum in a cameo one day bringing you a cup of tea! ,😂
Regards from Oz.

Great Tour - It has given me a good number of ideas as I embark on a Loft Space Railway room myself.
- Thanks for all your amazing work and enthusiasm.
NICE TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love a good demonstration of a properly-arranged work space. This is right up there with James May's lecture on sheds. I truly do love things like this! 🙂
It really goes to show how cameras can make a place look much bigger than they are.. if you ever get bored with railways you could do estate agent sales 😂
Have you ever done a recap story of how you got started into your youtube career ?
Excellent video Sam. Truly amazing to see what all goes into the videos as well as the behind the scenes for everything. Can’t wait to see what else you have in store! We need more ladder appreciation 😂
Great video, Sam! Very cool to see the space in its entirety. You’ve made it a wonderful and cozy little office.
Awesome video sam! Reslly cool to see where it all goes on, the way youve packed so much into a small space is impressive too!
Thank you so much - haha glad you like that! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Fantastic Sam great room mate
Nice tour
Awesome video, nice to see some of the behind the scenes 👍
Very interesting Sam, thank you for sharing.
Great video, really interesting to see all of this
Hey Sam! It’s really wonderful that you have been able to make your passion your vocation. I’m a little envious if I’m being honest. All the best and keep ‘em coming!
A very good insight to your model room
Impressive Well done
Impressive very impressed I am.
Nice room Sam!
Inspiring Sam! Just got my first fulltime job out of college and this shows you can make a “smaller” space go a long ways with some thought out into it. I’ll keep that in mind looking for my first place!
Excellent, and quite the space actually! Thank you for taking us along showing where it all happens. Quite packed full, but all very smartly arranged. Incredible when you think how you started out and what has become of the loft and the channel. In fact, the entire presentation quality is very much on par with any Tv show. Such a talent. I think we've said it before, but quite the little question why the BBC haven't picked you up, or perhaps that's not your ambition. But anyway, loads of quality entertainment for us to unwind the day and we sincerely thank you for that 💓
Fantastic video really enjoyed it 👍😊🤩😎
Interesting and a good use of space
Ah, how pleasant! For my birthday I get a tour of Sam's room!
Although I am a bit late, hehe.
This is an amazing tour video well done Sam I'm impressed 1:24
I was really waiting for this video sam
You make awesome videos
Amazed by the plot twist at the end 😲
Behind the scenes of my favorite UA-camr, this is a good day 🙂
I’ve been quite sick today, but I’m glad I now I have something to watch, great video Sam!
Ahh sorry to hear that - hope you're feeling much better soon!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
A great tour and lots of models on a Monday for me awaome!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks
I love how you have so many boxes BUT if you need a certain train box you'll need the army to sort thru it and find it!
Wow Sam, it's very interesting to see where everything takes place.
Cheers Jasper & Willow
Thank you! :D
Very interesting video today Sam
Safety question : Do you have smoke alarms ?
An amazing use of space …Congratulations !
I was wondering about a second exit.
Very interesting! If only my Model room looked like that 😅😅 great video Sam and thanks for sharing!
haha thanks a lot Jack, appreciate it mate!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Awesome video Sam's trains 😊
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains you're welcome Sam's trains
Such as a nice loft mate and that fan above the ladder is a really good idea in case it's summer time, it can get really hot which means you'll dehydrate rapidly.
Excellent. I hope you have a fire extinguisher or two up there 😊
It's crazy to hear you talk about 3D printers in constant use - it feels like only 5 minutes since we saw you get your first ever 3D printer and wonder what could be done on it.
You have an awesome display, mate. You've got more model trains than I could ever dream of, and a great layout to run it on. To be honest, you always made the layout look bigger than it was. Maybe it's just the size of the models, but they make your attic look like a massive place.
Hey Sam - WOW!! I thought I was pushed for space 😂😂 Well done I am a bit concerned though about the fire potential. A couple more fire extinguishers )(including a CO2 extinguisher at the exit) plus smoke alarms in each room if not already installed might be a good option. Thanks for the tour mate. Ernie (NSW Australia).
😅what a great setup
Did this not occur previously?
hmm
Anyways finally it happened, mr. Sam's trains has achieved a tour guide status in his career of doing things more often seen done by people decades his seniours. (just need to get things like cruise ship and actualy owning property). it is lovely to see how good he is at real life equivalent of tetris.
There is an old wisdom about workspaces - if it is clean than nothing gets done there for any activity produces mess and chaos. (i think its from car or other workshop / mechanic field). I would be strangely put off if it were clean and orderly.
Ouf i am jealous now, i am chronicaly unorganised in every single way, no optimalisation talent or skill in my entire body.
Nice to see you have a fire extinguisher. You can't have enough of them, mount one near the access ladder and that could definitely help with damage limitation should the worst happen.
Hi Sam, very nice to see how you are producing your video's, keep on going to do your job! nice greetings and many thanks from the Netherlands! By the way i saw a pic on your wall of fame of a Hondekop train, which i travelled a lot in my student time 🥰
Very much enjoyed the tour.🤓👍 I'm inspired to build a 00 layout but time & funding constraints may lead to the slowest build of the most modest layout ever.r.r. All good fun!😀
Enjoyed the insight into your regular presentations. What did surprise me, was the location of some storage units in the eaves area. With the constant changes in temperature in that area, the packaging can attract moisture.
Not enough humidity to reduce the white dust attraction !
I like how you included djm models with the light locomotive category lol
Love stuff like this. Although it does make me want to take a couple of days off work and come help you tidy up...
Cool!
A tour of such a memorable room I swear I’ve always loved the way it looked
What do you swear about the room ?
W😮W Sam - You have got a lot going on in your loft!!! 😉🚂🚂🚂
At the family home where I grew up I had an attic room including layouts and eves so really understand your set up! Pew, and I thought I had too many locos….
Quart into pint pot - no problem.
The realm of the lost socks, the Scrapman and discarded shopping trolleys.
Happy Shopper Narnia.
Looks as messy as my workbench where I use a testing Gaugemaster controller as a coaster.
All the tools in a tray, willy-nilly.
I'm so glad you consider the trains so they can see where they're going....
Thanks for showing us your Fortress of Solitude.
That's so cool
Thanks Justin! :D
An interesting tour thank you. The name of this video caught my attention; 'Sam Strains'! What I find most perplexing about your world is why you persevere with running trains on the floor. You must have unimaginable amounts of fluff in your mechanisms! Best wishes to you, Dudley
I like the white Fibre and Dust on the unboxed Locos.
