    You did a fantastic job at vlogging your trip to PR. Fun fact: El Yunque rainforest is not the tallest mountain in PR but its summit is always sorrounded by clouds. The natives belived that it was the realm of their god Yukaju who battled against Juracan, god of destruction where the word Huracane comes from.

    • @DeathByVlog
      @DeathByVlog  7 років тому +1

      Whispers of a Sorcerer thanks for watching 🙏 I love that fact!! Adding it to my stash. The clouds were so prominent the day we were there... it's cool to hear it's always surrounded by them. Special, special place.

    Isn't El Yunque great?? I was just there in January! How lucky were you to have the falls to yourself! It was super busy when we came! Renting a car is the best way to see things for sure! We had one for 6 days and explored practically the whole island!

      +Josh the Travel Guy We are still shocked we had the whole place to ourselves. So lucky lol. Next time we visit we will be staying for at least 2 weeks and rent a car to really see the sites.

      +Mitch Wolfrom Not sure. The app gave me clear go ahead that it wasn't a no fly zone. Plus, we were the only ones there. Not a person in site and I wasn't able to fly more than 15ft in any direction. So, I'd say it was a pretty safe flight lol 😎

    The coquí frog isn't "only found" on El Yunque, you can hear it/see it everywhere in Puerto Rico, actually. Another place you can find them is in Hawaii, even tho it's native of PR.

    Dear friend, la Mina falls mean mine, because during colonial times the spaniards mined a lot of gold there. All of that gold was sent to Spain which the king there used to pay for the many wars that Spain carried on against their other European enemies such as England, Austria, the Netherlands, France etc.etc.

    When I saw the title and thumbnail, I clicked to see what waterfall was so private. It's funny, because La Mina is probably the least private waterfall in all of Puerto Rico. • @razuuk004
    @razuuk004 7 років тому

    Hey there, Just some Info so you can know. I go on Vacay to PR every year. So i noticed that you took the trail to La Minas Falls. You took the first route to it from the parking lot on the road, there is another parking on the road a little further up the road that also goes down to La Minas Fall with the exeption that it is way better than the first one because you are walking down to the falls while the river is next to you (on the left side) all the way down and you get way better views from the second trail than you do from the first. it is also much better to manuever than the first. So if you go again, pass the first parking lot, pass a second parking (that does not have a trail down to the falls) and stop on the third lot. It should have a sign that says This way to La Minas falls. Trust me, you will love that trail much better than that winding one you took.

    Did they finally open La Mina Falls? I was there last March/2018 and it wasn’t open:(

  • @razuuk004
    @razuuk004 7 років тому

    When you were down there, you saw a bridge that continued to the other side of the falls. That is the second trail to the falls. Much more to see on that trail than the one you used. Just pass the first Parking, a Second parking and stop on the Third parking and go down that trail.

      i_hollywood we had no trouble finding an Uber any time we wanted to get anywhere. The family we met up with took one from the Rainforest area to old San Juan and it was $140 round trip. Our car rental with insurance was $70 for the day. Definitely up to you but I think renting a car is more affordable.

      Stacia Sleight hi!! I send y'all a pic on instagram! When I went to batey bat and I took a picture of dbv in the wall when I found it lol that's the reason why I went to the bar lol anyways , we didn't end up renting a car that day.. but we might go again in October, for a concert . Did y'all had to pay deposit? For the car? Did y'all get it at the airport?

    Correction, the coqui frog is found all over Puerto Rico, it has been estimated by scientist that there are close to 800,000 coquies per each acre of land. They are very tiny about the size of your smallest fingernail. Although they are called frogs they are not, they give birth to live coquies they do not lay eggs the way frogs do. There are about 16 or 17 different species of coquies but they all sing and they are native to Puerto Rico only.

      You're Welcomed. If you want to see some breathtaking views...hire a Yunque tour. Its a hike on the back side of the mountain. You will be jumping of cliffs and swimming in private waterfalls just you and the group. IS the part of El Yunque a lot of people don't get to see or know about. I did the hike with my son and he loved it.
