I’ve been following you for a few months now from searching the combination of the A7Siii x f1.8 35mm and I’m so glad I found you. Your organic style, the way you’re transparent with the BTS about how you go about the process, you don’t leave things to the imagination of the viewer to figure out. You’re going to go far mate and I’m all for it. Keep up the good work!
Thank you MABO to sharing with us your expertise and recipes of your style and talent. You are an artist and all starts with feelings and inspiration. I like this. Hello from France! :)
Great style MABO, love your work and you inspire to make more videos and create up my channel in UA-cam. Thanks for your tips that help us to improve our filmmaking and push us to be more creative, keep it up mate.
I didn't expect you took all shoot with handheld! Handheld shooting looks more stable and cinematic more than I thought it would be. I was obsessed with using a gimbal to shoot all the movement before. I will try as you do!
Such a great model and loved the POV, would have liked to have seen a bit more leading into the pose and then holding those model moments, quality video portrait, loves it. 😀
So I've watched this video like at least 100 times - this is one of my favorite songs ever and you definitely did it justice with the visuals. Regarding those orange transitions - are they light leaks? I love the fact you consistently use those in all your videos!
Great information and content as always. But there is something I would like to mention. In my personal experience, if you using vintage or cinema lens, there is big chance that you probably going to need a matt box or your hand to protect direct or sime direct light to lens since those kind of lens usually looks super washed out that makes the image beyond useable when shoting against sun when its still high, but you don't need to worry about it if you using modern lens like sony, canon, sigma, tamron, their image style is flat and boring, but will help a lot if you plan to do a lot of back lite shot. I love such compact shoting style, but since I only like lens that with characters, which leave me no choice but to bring out a lot of accessories every time.
I would love to know how much you make use of the new IBIS system in the A7S III. I am currently using the A7 III but when i do handheld shots it looks more like there is an earthquake happening especially while moving :D Your shots still have a handheld look but they are way smoother than anything i can create... (I don´t like to use warp stabilizer that much because there is always at least a little distortion going on)
this video makes me comment,,, it was too good, it cut things into pieces that i can process better, and i have a question for you and the comunity, i have the sony a7 iv that makes a huge crop when you are recording at 4k 60p, do you recomend buying the 24mm instead and and i can crop when is needed ????
What I am really interested is how you set the color in your LUT. What exactly did you do there to achieve that kind of look? Do you have some kind of formula to tackle the colors or you just basically tweaked it to your liking?
Hi Mabo, first of all...very good BTS which shows perfectly your work flow. But there is one question lI still have...what about the Song? Are you not afraid that UA-cam is complaining? I usualy use Artlist music but it's not always the best choice.
Hey, on which camera the behind the scenes where shot? and can you tell me if the 24-70 mm 2.8 gm is powerful in minimal light situations? I would really apreciate it. If you are german you can also answer in german but I was not sure haha
Incredible work! And one of the best explanations of a work flow I've seen! I will be purchasing your lut pack. I assume you are shooting slog3. How do you expose?
Awesome, thanks! Are you working with a 24p timeline? Looks like you shoot mostly in 60p for your slow motion? Might have been some 120p in there too. Great work.
Hello ! Very good Job ! Different questions : You shoot at 4K 120FPS but you are normally at 1/240e shutterspeed ? and after in edit , your timeline is 25FPS ?? that is exact ? thanks
great video MABO.. we want to see more of these bts and your thought process behind a video.. btw, how do you set your wb in camera on such cloudy days when the clouds passes randomly??
thank you so much for sharing this video with us! I would like to ask you if you use in-body image stabilization or not. Your footage look very distinctive, and I wonder how you do it! Thanks again!
great work and thanks for sharing @MABO.The focus is so good while you moving. What specific focus settings you using on your a7siii? Greetings from Lübeck
Thanks for the BTS really appreciate it! I use the GH5 and shoot manually with a cage and monitor with peeking because the autofocus sucks. Any tips on how you would shoot in fully manual in an entire shoot? Cheers 😎🍻
Amazing work, Mabo and what a lovely convertible car! May I ask you about your color profile and settings while shooting? I really appreciate your tutorials, keep posting more :)
REALLY COOL ! thanks for sharing! 1 question, I see that your footage has like a gloomy/soft look to it! Are you using any Soft filter (Pro-Mist, Cinebloom etc) ? or you've added it in post? many thanks
What is the end goal with these portrait videos? Are you making money with them? Are the models making any money? Is this just portfolio building for you? Are companies seeing these films and you're getting other work from them? Is this just a hobby and your day job is something else? I'm super curious. These are amazing videos, and I'm wondering how this fits in with your overall business model. Thanks for sharing!
Hey! It really began as a camera test and became a format of mine over time.Multiple companies digging the style contacetd me already so I guess it is also good for the portfolio :)
Amazing! Your style is insanely good! As you said, very organic, storytelling and very intimate. I am amazed of what you manage to create with so little gears in hands oO No gimbal, no monitor, not even a camera strap, just a man, a woman and a camera xD Also your music selection and edition is incredible! I am a big fan, and I'm following you for a little while now 😊 I have some questions though: What lens/focal lenght are you using mostly ? Do you usually keep the same lens and only varies focal length all along the shoot ? How do you do your focus, I guess you rely mostly on autofocus + wide seeing your style and movements, am I wrong ? And you film everything in 120fps (or 100fps for europe) ? Thank you !
Awesome work as always. I finally tried handheld this past week with a combination of Gimbal and it really added that organic feel you mentioned. Btw how did you do that shutter transition in this video portrait? It almost seems like a transition between frames on an SLR.
this video is unbelievably helpful for all of us creators. Thank you so much for putting all these valuable tips into it for us. We appreciate you!!

Great behind the scene video. I love your style combined with a beautiful song. Great work as always 👍🏻
I didn't expect you took all shoot with handheld! Handheld shooting looks more stable and cinematic more than I thought it would be. I was obsessed with using a gimbal to shoot all the movement before. I will try as you do!

TQ for the BTS!
Mr Mabo, can you make a video while using a MF lens? Explaining how do you focus, distance movement etc?

Sad that the videos don't have subtitles anymore. I'd like to watch your videos and learn more with you. I'm Brazilian, and de subtitles help a lot.

thank you so much for sharing this video with us! I would like to ask you if you use in-body image stabilization or not. Your footage look very distinctive, and I wonder how you do it! Thanks again!
Hi, i love your video portraits
I have one question. Do you always shoot in higher frame rates? And render it in 24p? Thank you
great work and thanks for sharing @MABO.The focus is so good while you moving. What specific focus settings you using on your a7siii? Greetings from Lübeck
hey brotha, do you use your promist filter with ND filters if its too sunny?
looks like you have a peter mckinnon ND filter on, but do you also have a mist filter on or just one ND filter because I see a lot of glow.
May i know the fps and shutter angle
what is the adapter ring that you use for the filters? do you use both filters? loved the behind!!
Great BTS! Can anyone tell if he is pulling focus on the tracking shots?
Tracking for most, as you can see on the video,
obviously ;)
Thanks for the BTS really appreciate it! I use the GH5 and shoot manually with a cage and monitor with peeking because the autofocus sucks. Any tips on how you would shoot in fully manual in an entire shoot? Cheers 😎🍻

Bro, you overexposer about1.7 with your Slog3; Thanks and good job!!!
sir u used s-log with s-cinetone please mention wht picture profilr u used
Hi Mabo! Do you shoot with a mix of 60 and 24 fps?
nice
Thanks for this. Is it 4k at 60 or 24?
You should try a shoulder rig.
Are you shooting with IBIS or you prefer it turned off? I am asking because for handheld shots the IBIS can ruin some motions.
Did you shot Auto Focus or manual focus?
Great video. What was the first song?
do you use both filters on the same lense at once if so? How?

@@MABO Thanks for the reply. Your work is super inspiring. I'm looking into applying these concepts to family portrait videos.
@@MABO Also, when is the final video coming out?
Did you use any mist filter in your shot?
this is amazing, you are very talented, but how do you deal with shaking? are you using catalyst?
nice~
Amazing! Your style is insanely good! As you said, very organic, storytelling and very intimate.

He said that 90% of the time is using the Af, and sometimes, when the camera don't work well with it, turns off the AF and use Manual...
@@vecerra Sorry, true 😅
Also I noticed that on the original video it is written 35mm 1.8 ;)
Man I love your titles. What is that font?
Do you use "in camera stabilization"?
Awesome work as always! Question - Do you use the active shot with the ibis of the a7siii during the shoot or do you turn it off for just normal IBIS?
amo karl marx
Which filter you did use?
Awesome work as always. I finally tried handheld this past week with a combination of Gimbal and it really added that organic feel you mentioned. Btw how did you do that shutter transition in this video portrait? It almost seems like a transition between frames on an SLR.
Looks to be just a colored transition of a few frames that move into and out of view.
@@broskivisuals Ah, with an audio cue to sell it.
Have you perhaps found this transition somewhere to download?
Hey ! Do you use any mist filters to get that glow in the highlights ?
He’s using a promist 1/4 :)
How do you get models? I've tried doing something similar and 99% of the time, models don't respond or say no.
deepend on how u speak dude
He made a video about this. Usually hits them up on insta
As a percentage, how many times do you use gimbal and how many times do you record by freehand?
He said 90% handheld 10% gimbal. But in general it really depends on the shots you want.
Hi MABO :) are you using PolarPro Signature or Mist Edition?
Polar Pro Peter Mc Kinnon :)
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
what is the name of the transition you use? the one that looks like a slide step
Have you perhaps found this transition somewhere to download?
🤩👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
