I live in Sweden, last summer was our hottest on record, we always put saucers of water out for the hedgehogs and birds, but we noticed one (under an apple tree) was emptying multiple times a day, so we set up a little hide and watched and it was these beautiful little honey bee's, no-one round here has a hive so I'm convinced it was a wild hive, but they found our little saucer and were coming and going all day long for days on end, it was like aircraft control, 9 would come in, land, have a drink and takeoff, then the next 9 would come and do the same. This went on for weeks. Kinda silly really but we got such a kick seeing them every day, they never gave us any bother and my kids were all so thrilled that we'd been able to help the ladies.
It's honestly insane that you only have 17k subscriber especially since your commentary is very entertaining and informative and the videography is so amazing. Always looking forward to more episodes!
Congratulations on the hundredth video,I’m keen to join in on a training session,I’ve been studying for the last two years,I just got a license and I’m trying to catch a swarm to start off with.A big kudos to you and your son for the great series of vids you deserve the accolades for your determination and education style, thanks.
ALSO... You should check out the Essential Craftsman's channel. They are another father and son team that make excellent instructional videos broadly about their business and experiences. ua-cam.com/channels/zr30osBdTmuFUS8IfXtXmg.html Maybe you could do a crossover episode? I'd die from happiness.
i would definitely watch all the training vids you make. laymans terms and easy to watch. calm and not overwhelming at all. great job breaking down a simple hive inspection. it can be overwhelming at first.
This is the first episode I saw and I'm going to have to watch more. I am going to begin my own bee keeping soon and found this video. Bush bee man you are fantastic. Training videos would be great
Mark, beginners aka: noo-bees, often ask what is the difference between the different types (material used) boxes, what is the best and also what is best for them for a first hive? The only thing I tell them is to buy the best suit possible, to avoid the ouch. I have only 24 hives, and most from recent swarms. Still on a very big learning curve and making mistakes every day. With your multitude of box types, what do you consider the pros & cons?
Just watched my first show,, my misses reckons I swear too much and I’m a bit of yobbo,,at times,, so I’m totally on bored with ya bushman! Funny informative honest,, love it. Brilliant in fact. I haven’t got a hive yet but just moved onto some acres so it won’t be long! Cheers
i love how u can break it all down and explain it to the bogans amongst us hahaha. one of the best channels for helping out new keepers :) cheers mate keep up the great work :)
Bloody awesome job boys very educational keep up the good work and congrats on the 100 episodes we all do really appreciate all the hard work and time you take to make these killer videos awesome job boys 😂👍🏻🐝
Thanks Mark. It looks like you have quite a bit of messy burr and cross comb in the brood box. How do you find those Paradise boxes in relation to frame spacing and bee space?
Great information! Loving the education and the accent! Would love to get some training before I actual have a hive. The more I know before hand the better success I will have! Thanks for all you do!
I'd love to see more bee man training, I'm a new newbi, I've got the whole set up, hives, super, extractor but no bees! And I so want it to happen, happy to collect a swarm anywhere. My dad got me into it he lives in tassy and has 2 hives. I just want to get it started but am stuck???? Help bee man!
I have a couple of flow frame hives as well as traditional. I started with the flow frames, and they’re good for beginners with backyard access - for shits and giggles. But they’re way too expensive to have a giggle when you have several hives, particularly when your flow frames candy up or fuck up in some way. Traditional or flow, it depends on where you are and your commitment to large scale bee keeping. Love your vids!
Really glad to have gone this far in your guy's journey. Your videos have helped me in more than a few ways. And for that I thank you guys. Always looking forward to your guy's content! Keep on keeping on :)
We here in Washington. State have been watching since #4 video Now you need a battery bee vacuum. On episode #101 at the park when you caught the Queen you would use the vac to pick up the flyers on the outside of it the tree and your off M8.

Queen Cells are like drawn down "Peanuts"in their Husk Shells. Either keep them (Remove the Queen with some bees and make a Split. Or... Cut them out with a clear boundary of Wax, and place it in between two Frames, in a Hopelessly Queenless Colony. (Aka, one where they have no Queen, one that has Swarmed and raised a dud Queen : not mated properly so poor egg laying... A failing Hive.) Or add it to a few Frames of Bees, and build it up a a little Hive to Sell for £££$$$€€€ as Nuc Colony (a Half Hive, eg Langstroth x5 Frames, to that of a Brood Box which is x10 Frames.) Very good video, thank you. Way too many of the other 'beginners' video's are too busy yelling at you or telling you what you need to look for but don't SHOW YOU what you are looking for like yours does. WIl be watching more of your vids.
The ZEST hive has proven itself to be functionally free of Varroa. The probable cause is that the ZEST is a naturally humid and consistently warm environment. Varroa do not thrive in a humid environment. The ZEST hive is up to 20% more humid. Varroa also does not like a shortened bee pupation period caused by the 39 times better insulation than a conventional thin walled wood hive, which gives the varroa less time to mature in the cells.
