You CAN use spray paint, just follow the advice of tech ingredients - hold the can about 30" away and use multiple light coats. I hang mine with rubber bands, I simply screwed 2 1/1'4 screws in the top of each panel (no need for glue) and the screws hold the rubber bands in place on the speakers nicely. works great. IMHO a sub woofer is needed to get truly awesome full sound from dml speakers.

You can use spray paint. Any.
You just have to keep a distance of at least 40 cm when spraying. So , the aggressive part of the paint will evaporate before reaching the styrofoam.

I'd like to see someone use magnets to suspend the panels like they do with the floating globes and stuff. It would probably take a lot of magnets on the edges of the panels and a frame with magnets arranged to keep the panel from moving forward and backwards as well as up, down and side to side. You guys seem pretty smart. Must be a way, but not sure if it would help with sound though. Just a thought

That is a very interesting thought, the only fly in the ointment that I can see is attaching magnets to the dml speakers would change the sound output from the speakers. Tech Ingredients experimented with placing weights (dampeners) on the back of dml speakers and the results showed that this wasn't a good idea, I'm not sure how placing magnets (weight) on the edges would affect performance. It certainly would look cool to see floating speakers.

Limiting the panel traveling with magnets would be counterproductive. It's a speaker after all and forward/backwards movement is kinda important for the sound. Also the magnets would add weight and make the panel harder to tune. Tech ingredients made another video on these and if I recall correctly he concluded that the weighted tuning was unnecessary/detrimental.

I'm about to build some of these speaker for a home theater/ gaming room. I'm sure its only the video and the mic, but all these video ive seen, these speaker doesnt sound all that good. seems to lack in bass big time
I plan on using a subwoofer with them. How's the lower end in person ?

Why did you make the panels so long? Does that give you more bass?
