  • Hey Guys!
    Long time no see, I wanted to put together a more in depth video talking about car setup. This video is about me talking through some of the key settings on the Brand NEW Team Associated B74.1 on how I took my car to the Front at the 2020 Masters Of Dirt at Beach RC. I'll be going through what changes I made along the week and explaining why I made them. Hopefully the idea is to give you guys a better understanding on car settings so you can use this knowledge for your local tracks.
    Products I Used:
    Car: Team Associated B74.1
    Electric: Hobbywing XR10 Pro ESC / G3 6.5 Hobbywing Motor
    Tires: JConcepts Aqua Ellipes
    Body: JConcepts F2
    Battery: Protek 6100
    Servo: Savox SC-1267
    Radio & Receiver: Futaba
    Setup Link - drive.google.c...

    Hope you Enjoyed
    See you on the next one!

    Great insight into how you tune your car and, more importantly, why! 👍 Lots of excellent info. Love to see one like this on the 2WD platform. Also, glad you're enjoying all the travelling, just be safe! 🙂

    Thanks Spencer! This really helped me begin to understand some aspects of set up changes and more importantly, why to do them and what they do.
    Would you consider making a bunch of short videos that follow this thought? For example; a clip with your 2wd, focusing on when, why, and what it does to the car when you change the pills in the c and d blocks.
    I would love a whole tutorial series that clears up a lot of the misconceptions we amateur racers are struggling through to maybe make the hobby more enjoyable for us.
    Thanks again for the great video! Keep them coming! We really appreciate them!

    Thanks to Spencer for all you do. Great kid!
    Anyone willing to help an old racer, it will be GREATLY appreciated.
    I started rc nitro racing with the Jammin' x1 Truggy, WAY back in the day!
    Now, I'm 55 and still love 1/8th racing (Tekno e-buggy), but our shop now also has a small/medium indoor, hard packed, red clay off-road track. I've raced my buddy's 2wd 17.5 a few times, and liked it, but at my age, I'm more comfortable with the easier driving 4wd's.
    So, I'm building a B74.1d for our 13.5 class.
    I'm looking for non twitchy, EASIEST to drive setups/tips. Spencer's video hinted a lot at setup adjustments being "easier" or more predictable and forgiving, but does that mean easier for a pro, or would this complete setup make for an overall easier driving car, even for a club racer like myself?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Trump 2021!

      @@spencerrivkinracing Why are you guys chancing a DNF with plastic servo horns? I see them listed on all of the top AE driver's setup sheets.

    • @KacKLaPPeN23
      @KacKLaPPeN23 3 роки тому

      @@mgers75 My theory is: both a dead servo and a broken horn cause a DNF, a dead servo is more expensive and time consuming to replace than a broken horn, so that one is chosen as the weak point.

    Do you ever run the Savox low-profile servo's? Curious if you run the full size just for durability or are you tuning for a little more weight? Great video! Please keep them coming and look forward to seeing this for the 2wd buggy, stadium, and SCT.

    I’m a little confused. This is a 74.1 used for dirt or clay? I thought the 74.1D was for dirt…. Does it really matter if it’s a D or not?

    • @spencerrivkinracing
      @spencerrivkinracing  2 роки тому

      The b74.1D is for dirt because it comes with a center Diff. The B74.1 comes with a center slipper and thicker sway bars

    Are these changes in shock bodies and new rear shock tower going to be a running change to the kits soon? Kind rough to buy a new kit then immediately need to change the out bodies and shock tower.

    • @spencerrivkinracing
      @spencerrivkinracing  3 роки тому +1

      No, the kit was just released not to long ago. The shocks are an option. Unfortunately it’s difficult to be able to put everything in to production. So that’s why we make options parts :)
