I will forever like the original better for the environment. I’m so sad I couldn't replicate the particles that the original had glowing in the background haha haha. As for using the environment I felt like they lost an opportunity to explore some unique acting and dialogue because the original only had them both standing ten feet away the entire time, I will say tho, Link running after sheik as she vanishes said a million words when I was a kid. As if Link really wanted a solid chance to talk to Sheik and learn about him cause in my brain I think it's fair to think that Link doesn't know how to feel about Sheik is he good or bad..
I had fun making the environment from scratch just tossing props together!
Jay the guy who does my sound did an absolute KILLER job on the ice and snow sound in this one big ups to him!

It actually makes sense, Link is pretty heavy with all the gears he’s carrying. Super Smash Bros Ultimate even shows it.

This short was absolutely gorgeous! Link's flashback of him and Ruto was amazing, and what Sheik said about people changing was very inspiring! Also, your rendition of the Serenade of Water is truly enchanting! I also didn't know that Sheik used a Deku Nut for her disappearances! That's amazing! Dear Majorlink, after playing through oot over a dozen times i feel like the story has less of an emotional impact for me than it did through the first few play throughs, naturally. However watching these recreations of the cut scenes, you have mannaged to bring back those same feeling and bring back the magic that is playing oot for the first time. Watching this brings back gteat memories of my childhood. Thanksyou

In all honesty MajorLink never ceases to amaze me. It is just incredible as this animation gave me more nostalgia than anything else, but I was left with a smile on my face. Truly these little animation are the highlights of my day. MajorLink has very well done it, again.

Ocarina of Time was poetry.
To me this animation shows that throughout time when we see our reflection we see who we truly are and think about how we could be better. Thank you for reflecting your hardwork with this animation
The Serenade of Water is nostalgic for me. When I got my own ocarina, that was the second song I learned, the first to memorize. To this day I can still play it on my little ceramic 12 hole ocarina
This scene was just one of many bland Sheik scenes, but as usual just like the rest so far, you brought it to life. the animation looked gorgeous and flowed naturally. SFX were a nice touch too. I adored that Link reflection at 2:53. it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling and it symbolizes Link's transformation and how far he's come since he started but in a way also has a tragic undertone to it cause that maturity was rushed and shows the inside of his soul that's saying maybe this isn't what he wants at all. he may be an adult on the outside but he's still an innocent child on the inside and on top of being beautiful to look at really sells how sad OOT Link's life really is.
I also enjoy how over the course of these animations you've shown a type of dynamic between Link and Sheik that just isn't there in the game. It's nice to see these two act like human beings and emote to what's going on cause in the game, you don't get a shred of that from Link or Sheik. Sheik emotes less and it's harder to tell because of his mask, but it's there and that's how it should be. The way he moves and emotes also makes Sheik's normal time philosophy shtick not seem nearly as dumb and could just be viewed as a character quirk instead of just unneeded filler just to give him more to say when you encounter him cause it's not necessary in the game at all. You also put more emphasis on the fact that *Sheik saved Ruto* which was just kinda glossed over in the game. It feels like Sheik is really helping to make this world a better place. maybe the rest of the things Sheik does just doesn't effect the player and this animation shows me the possibilities of what else he may have done to help. things that we may or may not even find out about
I do have a few problems with this one though. I'll start with the one you're already aware of. The background like you said, is much more memorable in the game with the little sparkles in the walls that make it look so pretty. but the fact that you're already aware of this tells me, you may have already tried but it just didn't look good with the higher quality models and if that's the case then that's fine. if you couldn't even get the room, then that's fine too as there's nothing you could've done on that one so I'll leave that one as a nitpick and move on. Link's hand at 1:12 is clipping through the floor slightly which normally I wouldn't comment on since I'm sure it's much harder than it looks to fix, and when I do notice it in your animations it's not a big deal and I know that you'll be able to fix little things like that as you grow so it's not really worth mentioning. but when the camera is fully zoomed in like that, it's much easier to notice and becomes a much bigger issue. With no better way to say this, it looks kinda sloppy.
The biggest one for me however is Link's tunic. Link wearing the blue tunic here makes no sense at all. The way you normally get the blue tunic is by unfreezing King Zora from the ice with the Blue Fire you can get in the Ice Cavern... the place where this very scene takes place. It doesn't make sense for Link to be wearing the blue tunic here since he shouldn't even have it by this point in his adventure. and while it is possible to get it earlier, by getting Blue Fire, unfreezing the entrance to the Zora shop and buying one, there's no reason for link to do so in the game, or in the story since you don't need the blue tunic for the ice cavern and there's no reason to backtrack to get it since King Zora will just give one to you for free anyway. And I doubt Link as a person would know to do something like that on his own cause why would he? why would he backtrack like that to buy something he may or may not even need when he's right there in the cavern to supposedly save the rest of the Zora race anyway if he knows it's even there at all. I might be overthinking the fuck out of this but it just doesn't seem that well thought out in my opinion.
Still does little to detract from this beautiful scene remake. It goes without saying but Imma say it anyway... wonderful job.
Absolutely stunning work. OoT was my first videogame, and I've played through it probably a dozen times. The sound design in this really made me feel what link would have felt, learning that an entire race of people was gone. Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood so strongly
The animation is so fluid! You can see the pure emotion of the characters and the storyline connects so well to the actual Legend Of Zelda games! another solid piece of work you made my day so much better 👏👏👏
It was a great video. The start with Link opening a chest is welcome because it reminds me of the few times he smiled in the original game. I like how Sheik becomes more emotive with the way her eyes move. Link's memories of Ruto are appreciated. I hope someday the meeting with her giving him the Zora Sapphire can be animated.
You have impressive eye for details as the Serenade of Water shows good placement on Link and Sheik's fingers as they play their instruments. The last frames where Sheik holds the Deku Nut in her hand and lets it fall shows how much Link means to her. She doesn't need to escape from him as much as she used to do so.

I cannot stress how much I admire your work on the 1:27 - 1:40 sequence. You managed to preserve the continuity of the game with non-talking characters thus all the non-verbals have to emerge otherwise, and you delivered it so accurately and in a well-paced fashion with this beautiful music. In the original game, I remember this scene which was not my favorite. Yet, starting from something without flashing actions, you turn a static scene into a smooth succession of emotional shots and transitions, which makes me appreciate this video even more than your previous work on the Legend of Zelda saga.
It's thanks to passionate people like you that video games / movies and tv shows can be passed onto younger generations and bring all those dear memories back to those who were blessed with growing up with this masterpiece.

You do great with these scenes as always. never change! I love what you did with the use of flashbacks and the transitioning with the flashbacks too. Also the use of emotion but with hand gestures is a unique take on portraying the characters. My suggestions would be to add more detail to the ice and show that the Zoras are actually inside the ice much like Twilight princess did. Also add more reflections with the ice too although you might not have too.
You should make a movie out of these. They're incredible!

You know MajorLink, watching these videos of yours reminds me of a rumor I heard a few years after Ocarina of Time was released. I remember that the rumor goes that Shiek was originally supposed to be more than just an ally you'd see as you progress through the game. Rather, that Shiek was supposed to be an ally who actively fought and cooperated with Link.
I know now that it was just a silly rumor thrown around in the playground but...watching these videos and the emotion behind them. It always brought me back to that memory, making me wonder how the game would've been if that was the case. At any rate, thank you for giving me a reason to smile today.

on a side note: Where did you find that sheik model? The only ones I could find for SFM have no face posing (well no eye posing I should say) and very limited in movement.

This was such a beautiful experience to watch. You put so much emotion and wonder into your work. And it's getting better with each one you produce.
