Hi, I'm considering buying a kayak, but have no idea which one is best...I've decided I'd like one that I can easily paddle and carry around (SOLO), BUT it should also be able to accommodate a second person with me kayaking should I want to take the wifey....I'm leaning towards the Fluid Synergy.... 2 questions I have if you can help me please:-
    1) How is the Synergy with two people on top? stable? easy? comfortable?
    2) How is it with only one person? - I see there is a 3rd seat in the middle - which Fluid state is for solo paddling, but I see you sit at the back seat? does this not feel like you are out of balance when kayaking and also should you want to use the 3rd seat can you set up the seat/back rests on that seat as well?
would love to hear/see a review from you on this Kayak... :)
    thanks

      Howseeeeet Henrico!
Okay first off there's no such thing as the best kayak. Only the Legendary ones and then the rest... haha just kidding but for reals my motto sticks to this "Different strokes for different folks".
So firstly where would you be fishing?
      Inshore, offshore or estuaries?
If you aren't fit then offshore on a Synergy won't be too lekker.
So 1) the max capacity is 195kg/200kg, so if both of you weigh 100kg it's going to be a difficult paddle. Getting the paddling right takes practice as the back paddler follows the front ones strokes and steers.
      2) It paddled pretty well with me as a solo paddler. I sat at the back as my weight in the middle wasn't great for paddling as the nose caught a lot of resistance.
Also at the back I was right by my rod holders so I never missed a strike.
Maybe I will get a review under the books for the Synergy then bud 😁👍
Never thought of it as it is a basic kayak, but you have some really valid points.
      Cheers

Thanks for the quick response, still busy watching all your vids! :)
So....to be honest, I'll probably use it 8 out of 10 times for recreational/fun - offshore - Algoa Bay / PE - area - but not when the waters are too choppy. Then 1 out of 10 times for fishing, and the other 1 out of 10 times for inland rivers. I'm moving to PE from JHB, and want to start a new hobby....I've kayaked probably 6 times before - never offshore before...but I'm SUPER keen to start.
I'm relatively fit, did half ironmans etc, but I've been "on break" the last 2 years hahaha, so unfit now.
.....1) Me and wifey about 150kg together.....so way below the 200kg threshold.
.....2) I'm aiming to solo paddle it 2-3 times a week as exercise - 10 to 15 km, my concern is - when I'm paddling alone I want to be able to enjoy it and do it easily- not want to struggle with carrying it alone, and kayaking it alone - so I'm guessing my question is...would this be the wrong kayak if I'm going to be doing more solo recreational kayaking with it?
appreciate your feedback! and great vids! subscribed!
      Regards
      Henrico
