  • In this episode I headed up the river to fish around the Kookaburra Park stretch. With all the Wivenhoe water releases a few months ago plus last years floods I assumed there may be a few bass in the system. I assumed correct and had a crazy Bass bite and even found a shark. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great video. You had a sensational session. I admire your confidence and ability to balance your kayak with that expensive sounder hanging out the side. I’d like to have a go up there sometime with my tinnie but I think it mightn’t run shallow enough.

What a top session. Is there much depth along that area. Just wondering for larger craft.

Going left from boat ramp is fine..enough depth going right on higher tide to the first bend…lots of submerged structure though

Great video! Do you think low tide running in for the bass, or not much difference?

Thanks mate, not much difference. I find early hrs until 9am is best. Haven’t tried afternoon yet.

Thanks mate! Yeah was a bit of a surprise, just a hot bite. How deep do you catch the threadies? I’ve sounded around for them in the past but no joy.

Well like I said no sounder for me so as the tide starts to run in there i fish the shallow gravel bar with hard body like atomic slim twitcher 110 or unwaited 6 inch zman jerk bait you can see them in the shallows at times then as the tide fills i fish the first backwater drifting with the fish trap and alternate all the lures deep an shallow I work for my fish ay haha you'll also get tarpon around white rocks to happy days i havnt been for a while there got me keen again maybe next weekend cheers
