One of my weekly jobs was right at the mouth of Norman creek.the big bull sharks we used to see there were pretty crazy don’t fall in the water around there.
Good vid, i've fished the mouth and only got a flat head but i've been fishing inwards in the creek and have managed to catch a fair few catfish and the odd bream. I've seen cod in the creek as well.
Had a fish at the mouth with my brother and a mate yesterday arvo. Servo prawns and worms. Landbased. A few bream, grunter (javelin) and Australian threadfin (putty nose perch). Thanks for posting. Would not have tried here if not for your and another youtuber's video.
Nice one…it’s a bit snaggy if landbased mostly due to depth and current pushing ur line into the rocks..but the shallow side around towards the bridge isn’t too bad..for jew try mullet strips or live baits if not into using lures 👍🏻
@farcanalfishing I had intentions of also trying some soft plastics but the breeze was too strong. I think I would need some stronger gear to land a jewie.
Nice vid mate. Ive been working on that creek myself trying to see whats about. Havent managed a jewie out the front yet so you did well. Cranked a few bream out of the creek. And yes that ramp is slippery. Defs arse up material
I didn’t go any further upstream from the launch pontoon…may suss it out one day…there’s gotta be times when threadies sit out at that mouth to..might be case of right time right place
i have been to this location probs 5 times land-based and haven't caught anything. May I ask what you are using in relation to lure, rod and line weight? what time should I go on an outgoing tide or an incoming tide? thanks.
I’ve only been there twice in the yak…this video was outgoing towards bottom of the tide…got the jew on 2inch holt prawn on 1/4 I think 3-5kg rod with 10-20lb line..I’d probably go heavier next time as does get deep..bit hard land based due to current and depth as will snag u up quickly
Shame on the lost atomic they are nice, I see some other yak fishos zip tie on what looks like thin pool noodle foam to the shaft been thinking about that myself for ours. Crazy how little boats 🚤 are about Brissy river.
Any luck with the thready yet? Ive fished from those parks at the mouth and only caught sharks, catfish, and one tiny thready on a live prawn. Watch out for them rowboats when handling the jewies hey!
Good vid mate. That spot certainly warrants further investigation. Love fishing areas with eddies and whirlpools around drop offs. Shame about your donation to the gods of fishing!
Thanks mate…yeah I think at the right time it could produce..I went back last week but was complete opposite, barely any bait around and didn’t mark anything decent…only 2 nibbles
I used to work at Norman Park Boatbuilders 40 years ago. Great to see the area again. Nice fish too well done . Big Jewfish

Nice man, good video
This vid came up in my suggestions, I subscribed because of the name of the channel.
Then it turns out to be nice, relatable content. Cool man.
Haha thanks mate!
Geez just going behind my house, thankfully the houseboat is gone

Is there any fishing safari's/guides in the Brisbane River or around the Port in calm water?
Pretty sure there is a bloke that does a sport fishing charter out in the port/river in a boat. I don’t know of any kayak based ones though.
@@farcanalfishing do you know the name of his business by chance?
Back to basics smooth water charters on Facebook…no idea on price or experiences thou
@@farcanalfishing thanks mate. I appreciate your time
I thought me and my mates were the only ones who fished Norman creek. Good to see there’s some Jews.

Nice looking spot, pity about the sketchy launch.
That pontoon isn’t as bad as it looks…the outback would be a struggle in and out thou

Are grunter common in the river love your vid
Thanks mate..Wouldn’t have thought that common but more and more different species are making their way up the river
