- Lahore Elevated Expressway Inauguration Finally | New Motorway In Lahore Connecting All Roads Of City
The Elevated Expressway project will be built from Main Boulevard Gulberg to Motorway M2 (Lahore Islamabad Motorway), a project that connects viewers to the entire city, officially known as the Elevated Expressway. The plan was drawn up in 2014 by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the agency responsible for development and planning in the city, it had called for a public hearing on the expressway it intended to build in the city. The major eight-lane expressway to be built will connect the public to the main motorway, the M2 motorway, and in doing so it reduces the traffic congestion on Canal Road and Multan Road. Traffic on Multan Road, Canal Road, Ferozpur Road will be reduced and the transport system will be changed. In view of increasing population, projects like Expressway are necessary. Traffic congestion on busy roads of Lahore will be reduced by 65%. The elevated expressway will connect Gulberg with the motorway, where intersections will be made on Canal Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Band Road and Multan Road.

یہ بات تو مصدقہ ہے کہ اگر سڑک شہر میں پل بنا کر بنائی جاۓ تو شہر کی خوبصورتی کا ستیاناس تو ہو ہی جاتا ہے گھروں سے اوپر بنی سڑکوں سے ہوائی آلودگی شہر میں رہنے والوں کا صحت کا بیڑا بھی غرق کرتیں ہیں.
اس لئے یورپ یا کچھ اور ترقی یافتہ ممالک میں دیکھا جاۓ تو پل صرف اور صرف اس وقت بنایا جاتے ہیں اگر کوئی اور راستہ میسر نہ ہو. اکثر اوقات پل کی بجاۓ سرنگ بنائی جاتی ہے.
پاکستان میں تو ویسے بھی جنگل کا قانون لگتا ہے ... اس لئے اگر یہ سڑکیں بن بھی گئیں تو لوگوں نے قانون میں لکھے ہر قانون کو ویسے ہی توڑ دینا ہے.

This project is very high budget project and it's usage & benefits are not for a big population. We recommend to postpone it at the moment and utilize this budget on other benefits for the nation.

As far as "Bhutto" will stay alive in Sindh, I doubt you see any benefits. The people live in Karachi need to sort out a lot of issues in the geo political system of Karachi / Sindh, once solved you will see the progress.
Lahore DOES NOT need more flyovers and roads for god sake. This is passing through some very peaceful residential neighborhoods. This city needs planning to be built around pedestrians instead. I hope this project never gets approval. Stop destroying the city. Why can't these dumb politicians hire good city urban planners??

@@Englishpracticenow96 going underground is very expensive but this area genuinely don't need any more roads. More roads are not going to solve the issues. We need to involve urban planners to design our cities which are already a mess.
The Elevated Expressway in Lahore will be a WORST example in urban planning, wasting too many resources to benefit so few.
Recent past has seen ORANGE train as an EXTRAVAGANZA. How can we justify PKR 350 Billion , on a train that less than 10000 people per day will use? Compare it with Universal Health Card project for the WHOLE population of Punjab that cost PKR 450 Billion!
Spend to benefit MASS population, not just few in elite areas.
Also, elevated roads cause more pollution in air, that in return causes more health issues in population living around. With health facilities in Pakistan specially to poor people anything elevated with no control on vehicle emissions is open call for future health hazards.
