    It's likely a combination of several factors. The pitted surface of the mentos, and possibly a chemical reaction between a chemical in the mentos and aspartame or some other ingredient found in Diet Coke. That would explain the increased reaction found in Diet Coke as opposed to plain soda water.

    The only thing that happens is that when the person opens the bottle the line that is hanging the mento will loose (because it was stuck by the bottle screw cap) and it will fall right on the bottle. As the bottle is already opened there's no risk of explosion or anything, It's exacly the same as dropping a mento inside a bottle of coke. Nothing more than that, except that with this technique the mento is a ninja and the people don't know.

    If I remember right, the conspiracies they hit on and disproved were:
    1) The lighting on the landing photo
    2) The speed of the film for Armstrong's walk
    3) The waving flag
    4) The footprint
    5) Using a telescope with a light emitter (I think that's what it was) the shot a beam of light at the moon, hitting a reflector that was placed there having it reflect back proving that we've been there since there's human technology sitting on the surface.

      +perfectbonzia124 Not really, the tzar bomba was a bomb that used fusion and fission reaching about 50 mt. 20 gallons of coke and 100 mentos would not cause any explosion. It would just create a lot of gas and dissipate

    • @Volvary
      @Volvary 10 років тому +4

      The problem is that replicating such a complex surface with machines and such on plastic is near impossible as such surface is caused by the solidification of the candy.

    • @saiyaniam
      @saiyaniam 10 років тому

      Could do it easy, lasers.

    • @Volvary
      @Volvary 10 років тому +2

      saiyaniam It might not even be fine enough. Crystallization can create some pretty fine structures. But maybe it could be done. I'm not an expert of this after all.

    • @joeytje50
      @joeytje50 10 років тому +10

      Volvary this is easy. Just scrub it with a little bit of sandpaper and see if it has any effect.
      You don't need to have a 100% reproduction of the effect. If the roughed surface of the plastic has an effect at all, you can extrapolate that to the mentos' roughness.

      You deny the existence of redshift, a understandable and observable natural phenomena. All the while supporting a young Earth theory; a theory which states the world was Completely covered in a flood.. a flood which left no trace of it's genocidal embrace?
      Honestly singularities are not even uncommon in our current universe, as all blackholes are formed with one.

      @@robinhyperlord9053 Who said I was an atheist, I might be agnostic.
      Its probably a waste of time judging by your comment, though honestly; to reject understandable happenings in our universe because a book told you too is madness. If you don't know, look up how the bible was compiled. You will find it leaves a lot of room to guess at the authenticity of the sources and question if any of it is a fair representation of gods word.
      Some say that to even attempt to write down what god has said is insulting, as god is perfection. Because of this, no man could ever depict him fairly. Hell, there is a commandment about that.
      All in all, assuming everything in a 3000 year old (or so) book is direct word of god, when even modern translations have obvious failings, is not only immodest, but also self-delusional.

  • @moonarium

    it wouldn't do that because the mento would never be in contact with the coke before someone opened it. basically what happens is that the mento is suspended by the line that is stuck right at the top of the bottle and when someone opens it the line isn't stuck anymore and the mento falls inside the bottle.
