Here's the story from what I understand:
The girls are all trapped within the system and their real bodies are in a coma state except for Jiu. This is because Jiu is the only who noticed they are not in reality. In reality, you can't directly look at the sun or it'll hurt your eyes but she did it easily which shows that she's not in reality.
Since Jiu is the only one who figured it out, she managed to escape but not for the rest. Fortunately, Jiu has a weapon/tool that can help them escape the system but it only has 5 bullets. She sacrificed herself to let them all escape that's why you only hear a gunshot aimed at Gahyeon and not when she aimed it at herself because the charge is at 0 by then. It also explains why they disappeared when she reached out for them.
Also, Sua is in chains because she knows Jiu is sacrificing herself and is trying to stop her. Meanwhile,Gahyeon didn't know which is why she reached out to her with so much trust in her eyes. (@AtrinaLB theory)
So she's trapped in the system forever, sacrificing her life for the rest out of love. Imagine how lonely she must be. What a true leader 😢

that purple crystal was the reason that the members were stuck in their own words and dreams...
JiU had come to save them..
in order to pull them out from the crystal...
she had to inter the crystal..
and kill the members with the bullets of that gun...

Story of MV: JiU is not killing them, she is saving all of them with the gun. The purple crystal corrupts the world and minds of people.
JiU is out to save her friends from a world of illusion brought about by the purple crystal. She was looking at Yoohyeon beside the crystal as she did not expect Yoohyeon (her romantic partner) to be trapped (She knew she had to sacrifice herself to save everyone at that moment). She enters their illusions one by one after touching the purple crystal and saves them by shooting them. After she done it, she gets caught in the same false world and that's when she sees all her friends together but then the illusion breaks as JiU had saved them. JiU, in great despair, tries to save herself but she only had enough bullets for her friends so she is trapped forever and consumed by the crystal.
The starting scene shows JIU realising she is trapped in the false world as she could look at the sun without flinching her eyes. And then the scene cuts back into the real dystopian world where she tries to save her friends.

My perspective on this MV
Each girl caught in the crystal's spell has a nightmare:
-Siyeon - Disconnection from the world
-Yoohyeon - The fears from school times( bullying, stress, expectations ect.)
-Dami - Having all the money but can't enjoy it
-Gahyeon - The toxic environment keeping you down (the background looks like a junk yard)
-Sua - Not having freedom by being held in chains(/limitations)
-Jiu - Loneliness which is the main thematic of each nightmare
In the end Jiu saves them taking all their nightmares remaining all alone :(.

The lore is something only Dreamcatcher can pull of. Not just an emotional story, but the little details are what hit the most.. and the ending which I was not ready for... and I will never be ready for it, even after 100+ times watching this I still feel a weird, sad feeling in my chest.

Gahyeon: A sisterly feeling. Gahyeon trying to reach out and the pain in Jiu's eyes is something you feel when you have to make a hard decision for family. Jiu finds it the hardest to kill her.
Yoohyeon: They are lovers, their gazes and the fact that JiU saw her first of all when she entered the crystal room. Yoohyeon's expression when JiU points the gun at her 'Babe, you are in love with me, I am sure you can't kill me'.
Dami: An old friend who started hating her due to some misunderstanding, the indifference is on both of their faces.
SuA: The friend who perhaps thought that JiU betrayed her but JiU did not and still wants to make amends. SuA's bonds are holding her back from doing something radical in rage to JiU.
Siyeon: The friend who is distraught and lost and in the most pain because of their innocence (since she's hugging a soft toy) cuz the world keeps taking advantage of her and JiU has always been there to care for her, almost as a Mother.

Jiu is so good at expressing feelings with her facial expressions, I can tell that she is empathetic and has a heart of gold. Sua and Jiu need to act.

MY THEORY (WITH THE CONTRIBUTION OF OTHERS):
there are 3 worlds; the field, inside the gem where JIU goes to shoot each member, and the real world (where they are sitting in a circle). Each member is trapped in their own nightmare realm but they don’t realise it because they see themselves in a peaceful field (their mind is tricking them into thinking they’re living peacefully) while their bodies are asleep sitting in the real world (where the big purple gem is), JIU is also trapped but she looks up to the sun, the theory is if you’re in the real world it is hard to stare at the sun but she is able to do so and realises she isn’t in the real world, which woke her up which is why she isn't sitting in the circle with the others. she then travels into the gem which gets her into each member’s nightmares and shoots them to wake them up. after shooting each member she wakes up back into the peaceful field world because she thought her job was done and so she was taken to where they started (aka the field) but because she traveled into the gem she was stuck IN the gem, which then she realises she has to shoot herself but she ran out of bullets so is trapped in the gem

edit: in my opinion the field isn't JIU's nightmare because each member is seen in a sitting position (yes, SUA too) in their own nightmares, if the field is JIU's nightmare she shouldn't be walking around like that. I think that the reason they aren't fighting back is because their mind isn't where their body is (I have no explanation for SUA), i say that their mind is tricking them into seeing and thinking that they're living happily together. When JIU touches the gem and travels to each member's nightmares they are slightly awaken (see that they slowly look up at JIU like they just woke up from a dream and their eyes are still hazy) because they realise someone is present inside their nightmares with them. And when JIU touches Gahyeon's hand and her hand turns into butterflies that symbolises freedom and going back to reality, they leave the field world because their mind isn't tricking them anymore. Also, i don't really see their respective nightmares as being labeled (like Siyeon is disconnection, Gahyeon is toxic environment, etc) i just think that these places are where they are each placed without a real explanation because some of them are very vague.

Sooo I got a theory about that mv : each girl trapped in a "dream" represent a sin.
Gahyeon: Probably Lust since there is a lot of red (sexy color) and she is reaching forward and smiling, as if she's yearning for love and physical affection.
Siyeon: Sloth because she's got a pillow and seem disinterested and apathetic. There are also Tv surrounding her and watching tv is kinda lazy.
Sua: Wrath obviously: She's thrashing in her chains and her face is full of hatred. The chains may be present because she needs to be restrained because of her wrath.
Dami: Greed: she is surrounded by luxuries and wearing gold.

This is just my theory:
I think Jiu realized that she and the other girls were all trapped in a dream world or an alternate dimension. By shooting them, she freed them from the dream world, but she doesn't have enough bullets for all of them (at the beginning of the video, there is a "5" on the side of the gun). After freeing the other girls, she tries to shoot herself to get herself out of the dream world, but can't. In the real world, the other five girls wake up and realize Jiu is still in the dream world.
(Edit) After rewatching it, I think Jiu starts out in the real world, where she finds the girls trapped in a dream world. She touches the crystal to go into the dream world to save them. The butterflies might something like her avatar?? (In the Fly High MV, Jiu was also associated with butterflies.) That's how she appears in front of all of the girls in different places, and at the very end, when the girls wake up, Jiu is physically trapped in the crystal, but her avatar (a butterfly) joins them, landing on the dreamcatcher.

0:09 everyone is having fun playing around with each other. Jiu realizes something is off and finds out that this is not the real world
0:27 Jiu has a mission to save all the members by shooting them with this gun that will take them back to the real world she looks at the gun which tells her there are only 5 bullets which means she will have to leave one of them behind
0:38 Jiu is in a hallway full of doors behind each door is a different member in their dimension
0:50 Gahyeon is singing the lyrics "For a long time, meaningless blooming days, dreamlike stories that will come true at the end" she is saying how she has these dreams of all of them together and that she wants it to come true and wants to get out of this hell-like world that she is in not knowing its not the real world. *Quick Summary of The Story*
If you ever watch INCEPTION you must be understand where this is going. So in order to save the girls and bring their consciousness back to reality, Jiu need to wake them up from the dream.
To do that, she need to enter their dream through the crystal and "kill" them all in their respective dream. Each and every members doesn't realize that they are living in the dream world.
Long story short.
Because now Jiu herself is inside the dream, she need to "kill" herself to go back to the reality. The problem is, Jiu only has five bullets and she already use it all for waking up the girls. So now she trapped, in the crystal, in her own dream as she sacrifice herself in order to save the girls.
Looking at the last scene where Dreamcatcher ornament was on the floor, I believe if there's a continuation for this MV, it will be the girls' saving Jiu.
I hope for doing that the girls need their last remaining pieces, Handong, and they will return back with all seven members. It will complete this beautiful story.
I love this MV because I can see real-life Jiu is relate and reflected on the story in this music video. But, there's no Dreamcatcher without Jiu, Our leader, and the other six.

Mini theory: (idk how relevant this is to anything, this is just something I noticed)
The girls trapped in the other world kinda resemble the 5 stages of grief
1- denial - yoohyeon - this one fits the least well, but I kinda see it as she’s in a classroom with her back facing the board like she’s ignoring the facts of a situation/in denial about them
2 - anger - sua- kinda obvious, she’s lashing out at her restraints in anger
3 - bargaining - dami - she’s surrounded by expensive things that could easily be used as physical things to bargain with
4 - depression - siyeon - she appears the most melancholy, the TVs are all either off or full of static which could mirror the state of her mind
5 - acceptance - gayheon - shes smiling/ happy, there is a junkyard(?) behind her with broken wheels(?) and furniture (?) and she’s sitting on an intact chair, which mirrors her moving on from a difficult scenario, she reaches out to jiu when she goes to shoot her, as if she has accepted her “death”
