Which video do u want? The one when mom grimaced 😬 and ran then Casi ran to rescue. People forget these wild animals don't feed strays. It's truly remarkable that Casi did at all. U see the other moms didn't interact with him at all. A couple showed curiosity but that's it.

It wasn't Celine who took away Calvin's peace, it was the people. Calvin was abandoned by his mother because she deemed him unviable. Then people dumped Calvin on Casi and wanted Casi to adopt him. Casi only had enough milk for one baby. Calvin often pushed Celine aside and stole so much milk that Celine nearly starved to death. Don't be unfair! Casi's baby is Celine, not Calvin. Calvin was abandoned by his mother because he was not healthy. His legs were weak and he had problems with his balance. Casi's maternal instincts dictated that she feed her own baby. Celine was a healthy baby.
Chiko the baby thief kidnapped Calvin and wouldn't let him eat. Calvin starved to death.

The beginning of this video Calvin was actually licking stuff up off the ground.. I think if there had been more soft things for him to est he could of been perfectly fine with chiko even.. like if there were bananas or soft mangos or watermelon, that kind of stuff that he would have been able to chew without teeth..because he would of been able to figure out how to est those kinds of things, and him being with chiko for awhile was good because it taught him how to actually be more independent and not ONLY ever care about sucking on the nipple all the time. Everytime he was with casi that was all he EVER even tried to do or look at or think about, casi got so frustrated with him because of that, he wasn't doing the things all the other babies did, like trying to walk on their own or play or climb or do anything other than fight for the nipple, and I think thst really made her confused and annoyed with him, and he DID know how to do those things, because when he was woth chiko he was able to walk and do more things, but soon as casi was there that thought of milk drove him crazy

Monkey adults must always wear diapers as well as they poop and urinate where they sit, sleep, eat, play, mate, groom...no bother to even get up and move. They will destroy your property and everything in it, but worse of all would be YOU...as everyone who keeps monkeys as pets , eventually releases back to the wild, which should be criminal. You just made that poor animals life a living hell. But oh yeah, give them to you, you'll take good care of them. What a joke.

Does anyone know the name of the juvenile he was looking at. There was a juveniles that followed Chiko around who looked like Coby, Casi's son. Perhaps Calvin thought this juvenile was his foster brother Coby and was trying to ask Coby to take him back to Casi. Wouldn't that be unnerving if they were actually able to communicate at that level.
Casi would have been sitting in another tree waving her hand around signing, "nope don't bring him back yet".

At 3:41 when Calvin is imploring that adult to feed him with mouthings and tongue rollings, that may be the hardest he ever worked to communicate his hunger. At 4:13 he makes a cup of his hand and makes a supplication for food, touching his chest, watch on .25 speed. Pretty astounding. He didn't have an easy time of it, none of them do really. RIP Calvin.

I understand you feel sorry for Calvin, but he wasn't that intelligent. Animals do not know the concept of a cup. Baby monkeys are always moving their hands and feet. When Calvin was hungry, he didn't ask Mama Casi for milk, he stole it. He was often seen pushing Celine aside, who was often starving because Calvin stole all the milk.
Calvin is not an orphan, his mother abandoned him right after he was born. Calvin's legs were not healthy. People wanted to force Mama Casi to adopt Calvin, but Mama Casi only had enough milk for one baby. Mama Casi could not feed two babies with milk. Casi's maternal instincts dictated that she feed Celine. Here you see when Chiko the baby kidnapper kidnapped him, Calvin feels that these young monkeys don't have the smell of milk, so he didn't ask for food.
Because of his leg, Calvin was not viable. I'm sorry.

Watching all of these videos about Calvin, here is my impression: Chico was an older daughter of Casi’s that Casi assigned to take care of Calvin and keep him away from her but nearby for Casi to feed whenever she felt she had milk to spare, which became less and less as Celine grew. Both did the best they could with an impossible situation and were blameless for Calvin’s death, as he, an innocent baby, was.
Chico's mother was called Cesca. She was in the same troop but a different bloodline.
Also, Calvin's mother, Christy, is Chiko's sister. Casi is not related.

The smell and the difference in the treatment. He was obsessed with something that never was his. Infant or not, He soon learned it could never be.

@@CreativeByAnna No one watches nature photography to see humans intervene in the natural world. Not all infant macaques survive and everyone knows this. Calvin was an aggressive little freak and didn't deserve any of Celine's milk, nor did he deserve help from humans. People don't want to see humans intervene in nature. We want to see what happens in the natural world without human interference. If you can't record nature without interfering, you shouldn't be a nature photographer. Interfering and feeding the monkeys only makes you lose subscribers. Monkeys have a natural ability to forage and don't need human interference. If an infant macaque is starving that's called nature and the natural world. Don't interfere and just record, that's your only job.

This is nature and the natural world. If it's too much for you to handle, maybe you shouldn't watch. Humans should never interfere and feed the monkeys. When humans interfere, they make themselves a food source and this is why monkeys break into their homes and steal their food, raid their gardens and steal their food and even grab their grocery bags right from their hands as they're walking home from the market. People in these countries starve because they feed the monkeys and the monkeys subsequently view humans as a food source because of it. Monkeys don't have any idea what personal property is and the difference between a human's food and their food, so they steal it all. Educate yourself before making stupid comments. That's why the fuck humans don't interfere, since you wanted an answer in that manner.
