I remember in middle school I read a book that has the definitions of identities and such and decided that demigirl was the one for me. A few years later after meeting a trans guy (my friend) in school and after quarantine hit I decided I was a binary trans guy. Then genderfluid cause I couldn't tell what gender I was so I decided to switch between them. Then I realized I only had masc day cause I didn't like being a girl. But I still had some disconnect to being a boy. So doing a 180 from middle school me I've decided demiboy is right for me :) Sorry for ranting but my point is it's okay to be confused for awhile. Or for forever if you're cool with being unlabeled. Ps I also identify as queer :)

non-binary just counts as anything that is not strictly 100% male or female (society's percieved Gender Binary), so anything outside either of those is non-binary! Genderfluid, Demigenders, Agender, Genderqueer, Non-binary, Xenogenders - it's all there :)

Okay so fun story; When I was in primary (I found the Rick Riordan books a bit young) I read the mcga series and at the exact moment I learned of Alex Fierro I loved her/him. Like this was the first time I had heard about someone being anything other than cisgender (as someone who's parents are very.... strange about LGBTQ stuff) and so I didn't entirely understand everything. I mean , yes Alex did explain some parts of genderfluidity to other characters, but more elaboration on the whole wide world of nb peeps was not really included so I really only understood genderfluid= she to he and he to she. (I think there was another term included in the books for Alex but I don't remember and I haven't reread the series in a whillllle so) Just a slightly sidenote part of this whole thing, I used to be very enthusiastic about discussing Alex f-ing Fierro with every living thing I could find, which would include my busmates who I would rant to . So basically this one kid got tired of it and said 'oh my god at this point your going to grow up to be a crazy gay genderfluid cat person' (sidenote for context I had this weird ass phase where I would hiss like a cat and sharpen my nails like talons...... don't ask) But anyway even though there were a lot of other factors I definitely have Alex Fierro, and more importantly, Rick Riordan to thank for me figuring myself as an nb (genderfluid) individual. Riordan put in a bigger effort to incorporate LGBTQ rep in children series than I had seen before and that really did a lot for me, once being a little fourth grader learning about things that would definitely make me more comfortable with being in my own skin. So thank you to mcga and everyone else with me through that . You were amazing, anf also to whatever person reading this, thank you for letting me waste your time with a story that I felt like sharing even though I had no idea where it was going (or where it will go) ((Ps to that kid on the bus... You were right motherf*cker!!))

We dont need to go pushing people into boxes again, that defeats the whole point of being nonbinary. If we try to push people into smaller boxes, even if there are more boxes, it defeats the purpose. Even if you dont understand a gender identity its important to recognize that they do and theres no need for them to change their label or identity unless that want to. Not everyone likes labels either. To many people it feels confining. To other people it gives them a sense of community or pride. Its all personal preference. So Id suggest not telling people what label they "should" be using if they didnt ask for your input first.

If you don't consider gender-fluid nonbinary that's fine I'm not going to try and change your mind or anything, just don't comment about it. @@briellehamilton704 hmm if you mean female then maybe look into the label genderfaunet, maybe even bigender, if you mean feminine, you dont have to be masculine to be trans so 🤔 But yeah same kind of, most of the time I feel pretty male but there are days that I feel feminine, but they are very rare and it's not as if I'd like to be a female or be referred to as a woman, yk? Best advice for you rn is think about your gender, maybe for a couple minutes a day and write down what you like each day - try out new pronouns, clothing, and observe dysphoria and euphoria, stuff like that and see where you get :)

ive always felt different, but i chalked it up to just being an asexual demipanromantic autistic fat woman who just didnt like feminine things, which i assumed wouldve accounted for everything but xD. 8 months ago i figured out that i actually wanted to use she/they?? still cis tho,,, right? wrong. i once again heard about demigenders and demigirl matched me perfectly, so i gleefully started identifying that way. and then i realized that she/her was grinding me down the more people used it so i said screw it and now use fae/faer! i consider myself both nonbinary and trans

Yes and Gender-Fluid is under the Nonbinary umbrella :) nonbinary isn't always specific and anything that isn't considered binary or "normal" when it comes to gender is considered nonbinary so Alex is gender-fluid and nonbinary.

But yeah same kind of, most of the time I feel pretty male but there are days that I feel feminine, but they are very rare and it's not as if I'd like to be a female or be referred to as a woman, yk?
Best advice for you rn is think about your gender, maybe for a couple minutes a day and write down what you like each day - try out new pronouns, clothing, and observe dysphoria and euphoria, stuff like that and see where you get :)
