Honestly, this is pretty accurate. The majority of imperial night and titan battles consist of little movement and blowing the living sh*t out of your enemy's void shields till' they fall over.
Yeah Warhammer 40k armor and vehicle combat is aesthetically similar to WW2 combat in that there is an arms race that one side or the other hasn't completely caught up to yet so that side or both sides throw huge volumes of firepower at each other in an effort to compensate.
Titans yes but most Knights, especially melee focused Knight pilots, tend to rush in and rip each other apart in a whirlwind until one is standing tall and one is a pile of scrap on the ground.

In the case of void shields specifically, melee is sometimes the only way you can get through, as slower-moving objects actually get through void shields easier than fast ones.

Imagine seeing Imperial Knights for the first time, *then* Titans behind them and realising the Knights are the proverbial "light" option as the bastard offspring of a cathedral and a munitions factorum charges your lines.
I'd imagine the concussive forces of the munitions of that size and its accompanying noise would outright kill most normal humans near it. Similar to the Krakatoa explosion in history.

Trust me man, being on the ground and watching these things is nothing compared to the rush of being in one. It was both terrifying and exhilarating getting into melee with that Knight, especially since I almost died in a duel earlier in the mission.
You know, i was watching this and im like "Ok thats not all that big" but then i realized that small foot path and all the "Grass" around him was actually a whole ass 2 lane road and trees/bushes entire squads can hide in and got the grasp of how big these were in the game world
My dream game would be playing as an Imperial Knight on the battlefield, fighting enemy heavy units, providing support for allies, subjugating tanks and infantry, dodging/ambushing enemy super heavy units like titans/gargants, charging though the enemy lines to hunt the artillery/supply lines. There are Wandering Knights in the Lore not associated with any noble house, so managing the cost of staying in battle ready condition, hiring crew who would support you, choosing where you would be engaging or retreating, customising weaponry for the missions, negotiating with various imperial factions and many other things would made an amazing adventure in the Warhammer40k world with some story missions to get the plot moving. Graphics could be the primitive isometric as long as you would have enough freedom and options to be awesome. And most important being able to say "ENGINE KILL" when you are felling someone worthy.
There was a mobile game created called Freeblade where you could play as a Knight, but at its core is just another P2W mobile game. It’s fun for the first few hours but then it starts to get really really grindy. If only it was made for PCs. How different the world would be is that happened
I will never understand how there hasn't been an AAA 40k title with knights, tanks and infantry. This universe is made for awesome videogames. There is even the possibility of universe conform skins that players would love to get
I think the humanoid shape is due to the fact that the human pilot interfaces with the AI inside the machine on a very personal level, like a twisted bond of biology and metal. Also yeah, they usually have a giant rocket pod on the top.
Can you imagine a game like War thunder where you can be from a Guard of the Astra militarum to an imperial knight And listen to those sounds being the guard

Mechwarrior's UI and control scheme would fit a game with WH40K titans perfectly. Only the reasonably-sized titans that don't require a bridge with an entire crew to run, of course.
Even if there's a little jank (when isn't ArmA janky?) this mod is total blast. Fighting a player controlled Chaos Titan as a pack of Knights was exhilarating, an experience no official 40k game to date can emulate.

You have no idea how maddening it was to try to fire on the move. Even then, Knights don't have a penalty to hit when moving and firing heavy weapons on the tabletop game!
The mod is called WBK Imperial Knights, it's on the steam workshop made by WebKnight. He's a gigachad by the way, this guy has pulled off some CRAZY cool stuff with ArmA modding.
Every boom and big shake of the camera was him shooting at me. Why my shields didn't drop? Idk maybe I made all my invuln saves I did take shield damage from a Warhound later in the mission, but I never recorded that bit.

You have no idea how maddening it was to try to fire on the move. Even then, Knights don't have a penalty to hit when moving and firing heavy weapons on the tabletop game!
To be fair in 40k it’s meant to be the same as a human shooting a rifle. You *are* the machine and you stabilize your gun with relative ease.

The mod is called WBK Imperial Knights, it's on the steam workshop made by WebKnight. He's a gigachad by the way, this guy has pulled off some CRAZY cool stuff with ArmA modding.

Every boom and big shake of the camera was him shooting at me. Why my shields didn't drop? Idk maybe I made all my invuln saves
I did take shield damage from a Warhound later in the mission, but I never recorded that bit.
