@@BUILTFORDTOUGH79I just wanna say, I'm from a city in the UK whose accent also gets a lot of stick for also making speakers 'sound stupid', so I understand fully.
I’m a Bostonian and obvious diehard psychotic Boston sports fan. With that being said, one of my best friends from the navy is a yinzer. He got me into yuengling too. Nothing but respect to cope/Hargrove and the Steelers.
I have very fond memories of sitting around the tv watching the Steelers games with the volume turned down and with the radio blazing Myron Cope calling the game. He made the games more exciting to watch and listen to. Thanks for the memories Myron. Love and Miss you!
I still have no idea why, maybe it was just destiny but when I was younger I could get the Steeler radio broadcast where I lived in New York so before streaming I got to listen to Myron Cope call a lot of Steeler games on Sundays, I was always a Steeler fan but that was still so awesome
To all of us who live in the Steeler Nation, Myron was our Dad, our Uncle, our Co-Worker, our Neighbor, our Friend....We are the collective roar of the Black and Gold, but he was the voice that told the world how we felt. We'll tell our decendents all about him as time rolls on. Farewell to one of Pittsburgh's most unforgettable personalities..
I will always look at u as one of the greatest announcers in the NFL, I will never forget being in the back of my pap pap's car listening too u and u taught me football . U will always be missed!!!!!! Love u!!!!!!!!!!
I had the great honor of serving Myron Cope a bottle of Iron City beer back in '79. he said "Thank you young fella, how ya doin' tonight "Very nice man.
A triple Yoi to you, Myron!! You will be soo missed... As a matter of fact, you've been missed by those of us Steeler fans who have LOVED your uniquely Pittsburgh accent on our broadcasts for two years now. I hope that wherever that next place our souls go to is my father is now enjoying your voice as much as he did while he was alive. I'll see you there eventually myself. Olev v'shalom, Myron... You deserve it!!
Myron Cope was like that cast away dog or cat that you couldn't ignore when you first heard him on the radio but over time you took into your life and then found to be essential to it.
Once in a while I gotta hear Myron Cope Kopelman and so I appreciate whoever uploaded this very much. I got to hear him growing up in Pittsburgh and still to this day he's the most unique color analyst I've heard in any sport. I'm sure there are some out there who are close, I would say the guy from the Washington Capitals has a similar voice but isn't nearly as silly and ridiculous, but Cope was one of a kind. He's really missed and was such a giant part of the Steelers for a long time. Miss you, Myron. Thanks for everything you did for Pittsburgh.
@@GeekTimeTV Oh yes buddy, but he just retired last year or the year prior so we at least still got Lange on the radio until recently. Cope retired when I was young and has been gone for a long time now so once in a while my nostalgia for him really percolates. I appreciate this being on UA-cam. He doesn't get replayed a lot on Pittsburgh radio if ever, I can't remember the last time I heard some clips of his.
Have The Steelers Complete Series on DVD where this segment came from, this is by far one of my favorite segments, save for the segment about the Italian Army. Glad to see it'll always be easy to view. Myron Cope was by far one of the greatest sports commentators in history, every sports commentator needs to learn from him. Whether they are in football, hockey or baseball. If I ever become a sports commentator myself which is my dream job, you will bet I'll pay tribute to Cope by shouting Oi and double Oi! Heck I do that at times in life myself so there is some truth from this NFL Films segment that Cope is the most imitated guy in Pittsburgh.
When Myron put out his book several years ago, I had the chance to meet him at Shults ford in Wexford pa (my dads friend has worked there for decades) he signed my book and we were just sittin there bullshittin and he told me this funny story about a Thursday night game on the road and was saying that during the live broadcast he yelled out "ITS THURSDAY NIGHT AND MILDRED TOOK THE GARBAGE AHHT!" It struck me so funny and sure as hell my mother heard him a few days later on DVE talking about that same thing and he made the DJs at DVE lose their minds! Cope is Pittsburgh! God rest his soul he's missed to this day
I thought Myron Cope was a character that the UA-camr name urinating tree just made up and does his voice…. I just thought he was a myth, never thought that the legend existed.
Ya turned down the TV sound and listened to Myron on the radio if you were a true Stillers fan. Cope & Lange - the best! PS: and don't forget that all monies from official Terrible Towel sales went to the Allegheny School for Autism.
Love it when cope, said God is on the Steelers side. No doubt, God has always been on steelers side. His favorite team in the world. God bless this team.🖤💛💛🖤💛❤💛🙏💯🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛
Whoever had the idea to have a Myron Cope do those corny ass music vids, I PRAY they were fired immediately!! HE'S A LEGEND!! YOU GOT HIM DANCIN' AROUND LIKE MC HAMMER!! WHO'S IDEA WAS THAT?!?
That’s the most cultivated Pittsburghese I’ve heard in my life! 😎
I’m from Pittsburgh, and I can’t stand “pittsburghese”, because it makes us sound stupid, but Myron was for sure an exception. He was awesome.
@@BUILTFORDTOUGH79I just wanna say, I'm from a city in the UK whose accent also gets a lot of stick for also making speakers 'sound stupid', so I understand fully.
he was a golden Pittsburgh mensch

I watch this video before the start of every season just to hear the King's voice. Its not the same without him.
I’ve never heard of this man in my life, now forever my favorite announcer and I’m a bengals fan
Even though he used to call you the Bungles? 😉😁
I grew up listening to him with my Dad and Pap, it was really a special time man.
