Nailsea & District Model Railway Exhibition - Virtual Model Train Show

- March 2021 would had seen the Nailsea & District Model Railway Club host their annual Model Railway Exhibition, at Nailsea School, Somerset.
However, like many Model Railway Exhibition over the past year, the event had to sadly be cancelled.
So to mark the occasion, I've picked some of my favourite layouts from previous years to create this Nailsea & District Model Railway Exhibition highlights video, showcasing a wide selection of amazing model railways, in a variety of scales and gauges.
All being well, the show hopes to return bigger and better than ever next year!

Hi Callum, member of the N&DMRC here.
An excellent collation of clips from the past several years, even if it is a bit odd seeing the faces and hearing the voices of my fellow members and friends from the club and Avalon Railroaders with our Port Washington layout.
It's good to see so many have enjoyed our shows over the years, and we're looking to try and make up for the hiatus. We're hoping it's going to be a good show this year, in spite of the recent difficulties around you-know-what, and to get a good number of people through the door. I for one am optimistic. Perhaps we might see you next weekend?

At approximately the 50:00 mark I noticed the railroad potion of the ferry hooking up with the stationary rail lines.....amazing detailing, as always !

I have visited this exhibition a few times and there are always quality layouts. great to see some of them again, and even better to actually be able to stop the video and see the detailing. I learn so much from this type of video.

I can hardly believe that DCC Sound hasn’t become the most used system in a show layout!! It adds an extra touch of realism to ANY layout!!
Depends, I've got a few sound locos which are great, but they can get a bit annoying when in a hall full of them for a weekend
@@SDJR7F88 I can believe that. I only have two sound-equipped locos at the moment and they are loud. (Bachmann 94XX and Johnson 1P S&DJR)
Especially when it's a tmd with at least 7 locos ticking over 😅

@@SDJR7F88 20 of them! One steam and the rest diesel, my current obsession. I bought lots of steam for my WWI and WWII layouts, so it is nice to have a change. I got carried away in the moment :) This morning I had email about another and there are a couple of steam trains I really want in that auction. Good job I went back to work from retirement.
This video is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone else with an APT-E with more than four vehicles.

@@SDJR7F88 I’ve got three extra coaches on mine. I think they were about £50 each. It looks really good. As soon as I’ve got a reasonable layout I’ll be sharing it.
This is a great model layout. Yet I still prefer the heavy attention to scenery detail as is evidenced here but I would opt for less rolling stock and engines. I would prefer the beauty of a simple point to point freight operation with seriously big scenic complexity. Also, I would use autentic RR sound effects found on a CD and it play in the background.

I have both Craig and I also had a much bigger n gauge setup which I sold a month or two ago
I find it a little restrictive with my fingers as I was a big guy before and my fingers are still chubby and I shake so control is not good also eyesight has to be spot on bro
I understand how you feel but why could you not developed what you have there to extent and go round the room till you could get somewhere to make a turnaround either up or down using a helix now I’m sure your viewers would love to see that built Craig

Still disappointing in that some modellers, although producing fantastic infrastructure, are sending ghost trains, that is, locos with either blacked out windows, so not needed, or blatently empty cabs. I drove trains for over 20 years, apart from Docklands Light Railway, i have never seen operating trains with no train crews.
As in nearly every exhibition vid To Much Background noise! Please dubb it out
But that's the atmosphere of being at a show. Plus if dubbed out the video would be silent, as you would loose the noise of the models too

Just as well there were no passengers on that train, as there was no driver either, so back to the couldn't be bothered to do the job properly brigade. Sorry but i drove trains for a living and am always critical of those who do not include a train crew of any sort. Sours the dough. Traction maintainance depot with all those locos but not a driver in sight. Populate everywhere except in the cabs and on the trains, whatva shower you all are.
