Since there is no Internal Combustion engine inside a Mirai, what exactly is being jump started here? An electric motor doesn't need a jump start. Secondly, the Mirai has a Fuel Cell and a separate 1.7KWHr battery. Why can't that be used to provide the 12V if the Lead Acid battery has died?

Most likely it is jumpstarting the 12 volt battery to power the fuel cell or the fuel cell directly. As for your second question I can only guess... fire risk maybe??

All EVs have a 12 volt battery.

I think its a cool toyota why didnt they include a panel on the roof to charge the 12v!?!?! I doubt this car will ever need a jump start, I wouldn't be surprised if someone in California figures out how to get this car to power their house... people have just it the the volt, just saying. ...

Wait a second isn't Hydrogen highly flammable? I posted in another Mirai video to you and I want to know how does a perspective hydrogen industry differ from the oil industry, when you look at the fact that solar panels can operate a car (Tesla). This makes the entire industry obsolete, and keeps more money in the hands of the consumer. Sun to battery to driving. Easier equation. Easier logistics. Get back to me Toyota. I'll keep and eye out for a video and hope that these questions inspire you to greater heights.

Timothy Hammer hydrogen itself is safe. The process of extracting hydrogen from h2O is the dangerous one. That's the reason why Toyota uses the principle of using hydrogen itself, and not water. No combustion involved, hydrogen produces the electricity for the motor plus charge the battery on board for storage.

Timothy Hammer The hydrogen industry isn't even close to the oil industry. In fact, the hydrogen industry is more like the continuation of the electrical industry. Oil is mined from the ground and produce green house gases when burned. Hydrogen is made by running an electrical current through water, splitting H2O into elemental hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen fuel cells don't burn the gas, and even if they did, burning hydrogen doesn't produce CO2. Simply put, hydrogen is stored electricity. It's easier to transfer, can be used to quickly refuel a vehicle unlike a battery system, and will store indefinitely unlike a battery which slowly loses power.
