"There was a time period in my life, where I actually just had potatos for 3 months [...] don't do that, ok?" It will be noted for the day I finally leave my parents house and live on my own
English longbow traditions kicked off after the invasions of Wales, when the anglo-normans came into contact with the welsh longbow warfare traditions of south and mid Wales. The southern welsh tribesmen's tactics of ambushing the english knights and footmen using their powerful longbows were so effective, it impressed the norman lords and in particular Edward I of england. So much so, they brought large numbers of welsh professional mercenaries into their armies and later brought the longbow technology into the fore in england itself.
Okay everyone Internet-kun has pulled off all the stops and got this video uploaded 2 days early! I hope everyone enjoys PS. 1. Yep we are a bit early on the 100 year war but it was going to happen anyway why not speed things up ( translated there is not a large Europe mod set later) 2. This will be every other day 3. Check description for mods used ect 4. Members I only recorded this today any future episodes will be released for you all early as they are done :)
IIRC, the first English medieval archery law was passed around 1250, requiring all men aged 15-60 to be trained. I"m sure the Google oracle can fill us in more, if you need details!
Hey man! Been watching you for a long long time now and you were the one that genuinely got me to download bannerlord back in the day. Love your content and I’m glad your back. I hope you’re doin well brotha, much respect for you
"There was a time in my life where I only ate potatoes" Me too buddy, me too 😅😂 This is going to be an awesome series I can see it already. Good work my friend.
As there are noble and Peasant troops this mod makes it more realistic with noble troops that have been trained since their like 5 years old being much better in skill than some random peasant that got paid 5 pounds to grab a scythe and fight for you. Yes the perk icons are messed up.
@@ThreatX I like it for realistic purposes and (I know that’s nothing for a UA-cam series) I play with Battle UI off so they do pack enough of a punch to make it hard.
My grandmother had a grocery store and she would tell us that a orange was only for rich people.Bananas, impossible to get.And when she had a shower installed, people would come inside the store and ask if they could see the shower; haha
Little tip, if you wanna like roleplay one specific region, use My Little Warband and crete soldiers based on the place you wanna roleplay, im roleplaying as Portugal (but with archers stronger then gigachad)
you should be a impoverished noble out on crusade because the 100 years wars are like 300 years later and the timeperiod is closer to the first crusade in this mod
Also, have you seen the proof of concept mod someone made for Bannerlord? They put in a ChatGPT with a list of keywords or character knowledge, tone of speech, for each NPC. Then the player was able to chat with the NPCs by typing in free form conversations and questions. Obvs the NPC responses were somewhat limited in unique knowledge, and their responses became extremely generic/limited if you left the confines of their prepped notes. Eventually, with more time, manpower, etc to populate the unique knowledge base of each unique NPC or NPC type (or better yet, procedurally populate individuals and groups out based on a total set of NPC world knowledge, limited by each NPC's tags like their culture, job class, location, etc). It was cool to see a new iteration of the old text-based games like the Zork series.
This was in fact the golden age of English Longbowmen, very famous battles such as Agincourt and Placey where the English archers were put to lethal effect 👌
Well not quite. Agincourt and Placey are about 300 years in the future from the date the mod is set in. They didn't even call themselves English/Anglish they likely still considered themselves either Norman or Anglo-saxon. This age was the start of mass castle building in England and Wales by the Normans in an attempt to control the native populations and land. The golden age of English Longbowmen isn't for another ~200 years, i think the mod should have been based around 1250-1350 as there is a lot more troop variety and is more iconically medieval.
Maybe you played a bit too much with modded units, but tier 4 regulars are capped at 100 skill. Mercenary clans can get 110, elites 120 at that level. Looks like the mod applies the view that not many type of armies would have elites, or highly paid mercenaries, nor many ranks for their regular men at arms, which is justifiable. Longbows were staple and traditional by the Hundred Years War, which started in the 1300s, but the English/Welsh longbow was around at the 1100s already. Confirmed mentions of the english longbow specifically date back to 1188, but longbows were known by humanity for more than 3000 years beforehand, so I'd think the English/Welsh longbow was developed with the Anglo-Saxon culture, which starts around the 5th century.
yes tier 4 is 100 but base game has units that go to tier 5 so skill level 130 (I will point out ai skill level goes to 330 so they are both under average at fighting)
I'd say this is the series where you lose all your Welsh and Scottish subscribers but I don't believe the savage Celtic lands have internet access yet anyway

irish people for 100s of years whats wrong with that

The longbow was a Welsh invention, adopted by the English around AD950 but not put into real use until the early 1200s.

Man, another awesome looking huge mod. Also 3:13 Finland, completely devoid of any kind of civilization or points of interest - very accurate.

Well played, i dled this mod and it os do amazing, thank you for doing a video on this mod.

"There was a time in my life where I only ate potatoes"
Me too buddy, me too 😅😂
This is going to be an awesome series I can see it already. Good work my friend.
It is like a right of passage the potato diet
Im happy that u gonna play till ur 50's😢
I wouldn't worry about doing night battles/hideouts, I've never had an issue seeing the action!
You say this until the comments flood in with people with low brightness settings
@@ThreatXis it possible to do the night fights and hide outs and just edit the brightness up a little
Thank you brother 🙏❤❤
Hey threat I just saw the community tales 3 of bannerlord and your video 100 day vid was there
What no way to google XD
@@ThreatX you can just see the new in the steam workshop

I get that but it makes the game way too easy they should consider having more advance units for difficulty sake

ALSO CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 40K SUBS LETS GO FOF 50K

The return of the glorious knight!!
Awesome video bud keep it up
Thanks:)
the Hundred years war started in 1337
14:24 i think for one sec is it a moving loading icon (i am talkin about the windmill)
Fun fact (or probably you already know this) it is calledthe 100 years war even tho it actually lasted for over 116 years
100 sounds cooler
@@ThreatX it actually does and yes i switched accounts i still have the account for the Comment
Bobby dies (20:21) "Let's take bets how long it takes for Bobby to die" ummm, Bobby is already dead sir. 🤣😆😂
Good Stuff!
non! vive la France!
😅
Goblin Slayer? banger of a show man, glad you liked it 🤙
Yep cant wait for the next season think I have watched the 1st like 3 times now over the years
I was hoping for a video and there he is 🎉
I really like your latest Bannerlord vids, but I’d love to see some more companions.
We will pick them up as we go though I must admit they do not really add much would love to see them buffed
Agincourt was in the hundred years war. As was showing two fingers to the french. The longbow was huge in that war.
You wouldn't think that the French would still win the war eh😏⚜️
My grandmother had a grocery store and she would tell us that a orange was only for rich people.Bananas, impossible to get.And when she had a shower installed, people would come inside the store and ask if they could see the shower; haha
Lol times may have moved on but with the cost of living crisis in the uk Oranges are still for rich people 😂
Love this game and series💪🏼
im waitng for another episode !
irl th English never fully conquered Scotland Ireland on the other hand got fucked up by everyone Vikings Scottish English probably the French too
Wow this is a new plathrough
Bladestorm was such a fun game I'm glad one other person knows what that game is lmao😂
Love it wish there was another one

I must admit I was expecting the troops to be part of the mod should of looked into it more before hand
@@ThreatX but the mods has its own troops
they are very barebones with game armour
my 'norman' english type of character is also called William lol. I generally go for that or Richard, or Edward..etc
You are doing stupid things!! The Europe mod was created for the sole purpose of seeing all of England burn!
Montjoie !!
thanks for playing this mod !

That's a big map
Thank you for playing this but next could you play samurai mod again . I miss it and wish to see it again as always ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Not until its more developed
Did someone say GOBLIN SLAYER
the long bow is a welsh weapon that the English used. to be a longbowman you had to be a very skilled archer
As far as I know that is up for debate as most sources where written by both nationalities with different claims.
FINALLY
Hello there ThreatX
I wonder if there is a 16th Century mod where you can Travel the Caribbean/Europe...
I wonder if there is a battle map for Stonehenge
I would love that but I do not think there are any custom maps in the mod bar the campaign one
@@ThreatX thats a shame
For king and country good sir
When the series is Finished pls do the same with France!
Well isent thes kinda late for me lol il still watch it

I have seen those for a few game the Skyrim one worked really well
Objective 2 is my favourite sentence.
😅
woop woop
I'd love to see in this playthrough some rp with the bannerlord politics system or marriage system instead of winning wars with op battles
Not really a role player there are tons of great channels out there that love that type of content however!
Did you mention having 140 hp at level 1 in your other playthrough? What is this madness?
the last 2 series I did where the old realms the career paths gives all characters in the game more hp unless they are undead

There should be a Welsh clan if there is a Scottish and English who’s the maker get them to make the Welsh? A thing
How did you get Butterlib to work
at least when this was recorded worked with no issue cant say about now as new patches have come out and I have not loaded the game up since
