I really do love this- these people all worked so hard for their kids, their companies, etc… and now they are just doing what they want to do for themselves. God bless them
I’m 55 and my wife is 52. We just spent a week in The Villages and we had a blast. It was sad to leave. We’re planning a Lifestyle visit this winter. We met Roseann, she was so helpful.
Thanks for a great presentation of The Villages. It truly is Disney World for Seniors. Check out the "original" town square next time you visit...Spanish Springs.... Lovely fountains and Spanish architecture.
This is by far the best video about The Villages, what’s funny is that it’s almost as if we’re programmed to say the same things regarding the number of clubs, golf courses etc…but truth be told, we’re constantly being updated on events going on around The Villages and we don’t always stay inside the bubble. The towns in central Florida have so much to offer and that’s what draws people from all over to move down here.👍👍
Thanks Vic! That's a huge compliment I really appreciate. You're right about the location. I drove here from Orlando and it wasn't a bad drive at all. You also have Ocala, Gainesville and the beaches you can get to easily. It seems like a great place to call home my friend!
Terry, this was so enjoyable and fun to watch. This place is a one-of-a-kind community. Every person you came across was so helpful and kind. It’s definitely a Disney World for seniors. It’s fun to see everybody so active, which is a big plus for your health. You are so funny to watch that I was in stitches LOL This is definitely going to be added to one of my favorite videos, which by the way, is a very long list because most of your videos are my favorites ha ha 😂 I also found the history on Mother Roy’s boarding house very interesting. Thank you for exploring and taking us into the communities and showing us all the different styles. That was absolutely fantastic! Bravo 👏
@@BarefootVlogger That’s wonderful. Definitely worth a visit in the future. And what a great deal they have for visitors. And so reasonably priced as well. Thanks so much!! Onward and Upward
I first saw a vid on the Villages from Pete Sant--- so I started researching and found yours! I’ve been thinking of moving there from North TX! I just learned that a some of my lake friends live in the Villages! Going to schedule a lifestyle visit soon! Thanks so much
I’ve been going to the Villages twice a year for the last 20+ years to visit my folks on their birthdays…. What a blast, sooo much to do and see, the growth since they started that place is unbelievable. Lots of stories about the place and I think the guy from Indiana hit the nail on the head. I think a lot of those stories were started to discredit the place because of it’s explosive growth into the surrounding towns. The Cost of living is on the upper side (lots of money there) and it’s not cheap to live there. It’s beautifully maintained no matter where you go in the Villages. Nothing else like it, that I’m aware of!!!
I have to agree with you, in what you had said, The Cost of Living is on the UPPER Side and it's NOT cheap living there. In my region, we have 4 cities , that's has all the activities ( over 400 plus ) , each city is different. ALL citizens, in each town , are taking care of and it's ALL FREE. Gyms, Theaters, basketball courts, Tennis courts , Soccer fields, etccc. This is for the age of 6 months old - 100+ year old. We don't advertise anything, never mention where it's at . If you have family or friends, they can do the activities, but there are restrictions. This place keeps me busy, right now I have a doctors appt other than that I would be doing more activities. I work out daily at the gym, after that I'll go swimming, go to class for kickboxing. Like I said we have indoors and outdoors activities.

Disappointed you didn't make it up to Spanish Springs & the Historic district, where it all began. Check out 64 minutes Through The Historic Side of The Villages. I'm 2nd gen Villager, loving it here.
I stumbled into The Villages back when a news article on TV was demonstrating a Trump Rally on golf cars. Next thing I know, I researched it and have been a frequent visitor, as I am not quite 'Villages-age' ready yet. My takeaway? The Villages is not a place where seniors go to die. It's a place where they go to LIVE their golden years happily.

Here's what mystifies me. The Villages has a large contingent of conservative Republican homeowners who claim to value personal liberty and freedom, yet they will live in a place that tells you that you cannot have a FENCE in your yard, or chachkis on your lawn (Does the chacki restriction include copper wind scupltures? Those are really big up here in Missouri), and requires approval for what color you can paint your house? Why would someone tolerate that? I'm a centrist Democrat, and I would never tolerate it. I landscape in in some of the most exclusive areas in Kasnas City... homes that are over 1 million dollars, and they have far less deed restrictions. Yet one thing that never seems to be required in deed restrictions that I feel NEEDS to be there, is that I think all utility boxes should be masked with some type of plant material. I think there is nothing tackier that seeing utility boxes in the yard.

We retired to The Villages 3 years ago. It has been a 3 year vacation in a resort. 150,000 residents, 111 pools and rec centers, 60 golf courses, 3500 clubs, etc and so on. 150 miles of walking, biking and cart paths. Nature trails. Dog parks, etc
Thanks for sharing….but this isn’t for me. I’m a homebody, and I enjoy the gritty city. I did enjoy watching, and the place looks pretty cool….it does look like Disneyland, too perfect…if that makes sense.
Would a single disabled veteran, who navigates the world in a power chair and is always accompanied with a service dog fit in? What about handicap adaptations? I’m not a stick in the mud, but I do have limitations. How many libraries?

We retired to The Villages 3 years ago. It has been a 3 year vacation in a resort. 150,000 residents, 111 pools and rec centers, 60 golf courses, 3500 clubs, etc and so on. 150 miles of walking, biking and cart paths. Nature trails. Dog parks, etc
Once I hit the double nickel, I'd seriously consider moving there! Excellent video BFV!!
Man, I'm 2 quarters and a dime Tbp! lol Thanks my friend
I'm only 42 and already planning for my future move :) lol
Thanks for sharing….but this isn’t for me. I’m a homebody, and I enjoy the gritty city.
I did enjoy watching, and the place looks pretty cool….it does look like Disneyland, too perfect…if that makes sense.
Would a single disabled veteran, who navigates the world in a power chair and is always accompanied with a service dog fit in? What about handicap adaptations? I’m not a stick in the mud, but I do have limitations. How many libraries?

Yes you would fit in here in The Villages. I’m 100% disabled combat Vietnam veteran, mostly with PTSD. Am a widower and now single the VA agreed that this place would be great for me I was at The Villages in 2011-12 renting finally made it my home in 2022. This place has everything to do with anyone. I’m improving on my social life here, lost my wife in 2010. We have a big singles club here you could join. You should do a life style visit here. And your power chair would be great I’ve seem a lot with there power chairs going on the golf cart tails trails they it would keep you out of the traffic areas.
The Villages is a 365-day cruise ship (on land). I can’t wait to be 55 and move there.
Great analogy Liz
don't push your age to fast .
You will love it!
How did you get all those folks to allow you to play different games with them ??
They invited me!
@@BarefootVlogger nice 👍
Good job Terry. Love it wish it was closer to the beach!
I hear ya Chad! It's still half the commute I had back in Charlotte lol. Thanks brother

Thanks for the kind words my friend
I took my dad to a retirement section when he looked around he said let’s leave they all look like their ready to die
There is no retirement section. I wonder where you were because it’s the exact opposite.
Terry WOW the Villages are amazing. I think I would have a problem with all that happiness. I live in an area where everyone bitches about everything.
Arnie, like the song says Don't worry be Happy! lol It is amazing
Definitely going to retire in Florida… I’ve got to check this out but going to be hard to compete with Tampa tho !!! Thanks for the vid Barefoot always enjoy them!!!!
I hear ya Leanne! Bob moved up there from Clearwater and said he doesn't really miss it!
It seems like a angle person would feel odd. I know they have single clubs there - but the couple thing is so ingrained there, not sure I would like it.🤷🏽
Rosane was the game changer on this video.
I agree! Thanks Allan
Is it true this is a swingers community? Everyone says this. ; - )
No. That lie was debunked years ago.
I really enjoyed watching this looks like a really fun full action place. The only thing I would miss the beach!!!
They have beach tennis ladyheart! lol Thanks
The Beaches are two hours away, either Atlantic or the Gulf, which is crystal clear!!
Love this heard a lot about The Villages
Thanks Cole
Awesome awesome video
You're so kind. I really appreciate it Patti thanks for watching!
