      @@gripsed Hey Evan,
I have a theoretical question regarding balance in MTTs.
Wouldn't it be normal to have a value biased betting behavior vs a balanced betting behavior?
in MTTs, the cost of getting caught while bluffing is a lot larger, especially if you are playing under 40 BBs stack.
In cash game, betting balance makes totally sense, as you can refill your stack after an unsuccessful bluff.
Thank you for the great video!

The key is to not value bet too TOO many hands, and when bluffing to choose the best candidates, this also helps from bluffing too much or too little.
I find once the theory’s been introduced the actual application of it becomes somewhat instinctual after a few months of practice :)

I would like to ask why are different equity calculator softwares
like flopzilla, pokerstrategy equilab, holdem resources, equity calculator shows different hole cards at a given percentage.
This is a big problem as I would like to improve and adjust my pre-flop range, but when we are talking about 10% open range and every software shows diff hole cards it is hard to memorize an open range line... 😃
    For example at 11,9%-12%
    Poker Tracker 4: 44+,A7s+,KQs,A9o+
    Flop Zilla: 22+,AJo+,ATs+,KQ,KJs
    PokerStrategy Equilab: 77+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, ATo+, KQo
    Holdem Resources: 44+,A8s+,ATo+,KQs
I would like to build a reasonable opening chart and to adjust that by table dynamics, structure. This way, it is impossible.
So anyone knows why they show different hole cards?

In lower stakes in live poker, the PSR tends to be very low, since the pot grows big preflop with all the loose callers. How does this change things? For example, in a $1-$3 game, a standard raise to $13 preflop will often have 3 callers, for at least $50 in the pot. With a buy in in the $400 max range and several small stacks probably making poor calls with $100, this strategy you suggest gets tricky.

    • @gripsed
      @gripsed  5 років тому +5

The main consideration is that as SPR gets smaller you can be more comfortable getting all in with hands like Top Pair Good Kicker, Top Pair Top Kicker, Overpair, Combo Draws, Draws w/ Overcards, Nut Draws
Whereas when SPR is big you want to play those hands more cautiously and only get all in with hands like Sets and better.
So long as you are exercising good discipline preflop with your hand selection so that you're usually flopping the better draw rather than the second best draw, you can feel more comfortable getting All-In on the flop when the SPR is low.
      Make sense?
