Northern Beaches Bottles

Here’s a short but sweet video I took very recently of a URM crew hitting a Northern Beaches Council recycle run. Featured is 1 of 10 big Superior Pak Dennis rear loaders put to work in July 2019 when the new collection contract started, each painted fully in 1 of 9 colours found in the fleet, but there are a pair of black trucks. These are used for booked clean-ups around the region at the beginning of each week and then spend their time doing household bin collections the rest of the week. To suit the job, all these Superior Pak Collector bodies are the industrial model with a heavier duty tailgate and larger pack blade for hard waste, whilst also being equipped with wide comb lifters for the bins. You may notice the enclosed hopper set up featuring a roof canopy and curtains, something required by the council to reduce rubbish blowing out, but also something I think is overkill for a purpose that can be achieved via other existing means (such as lowering the pack blade over material). As for the curtains, these proved to be obstructive during the collection process, so they were roped up for easy lifting out of the way while loading the hopper. There is both a light blue and dark blue Dennis rear loader in the fleet, but in this video is the lighter shade vehicle. We see a team swiftly knocking over the final street in the Dee Why units area right around the midday mark on a Friday, quickly lifting the 240Ls by hand and using the hydraulics for the 660Ls at the new Meriton towers. I’ll note there was an extra runner on this truck that morning, being young Alex who is another of us garbage truck UA-camrs that has gotten a job in the industry.

Love to see another video of one of these colourful rear loaders again, can’t get enough of the vibrancy they provide one of the best uniformed fleets in the industry. The boring white is too mediocre, but I could only imagine an old ACCO with a JP5 in light blue with the exact identical signage on bottles with a team of runners on the Northen Beaches that would be complete. The Runners they have are something else, a very impressive team of young enthusiastic athletes. That double 240 lift was astounding no doubt they could easily go manually lifting those 660s, The Mete is a master of his trade big things at URM for him good man. I’d like to see one of these on bulk. The enclosed hopper is a waste of weight but it has it’s percs like how you can fill the hopper with twice as much bins before packing but it’s not needed in this application I reckon. Absolutely Lucky as how they are allowed to manually lift here they would get fucked for it, would love to see more of the team smashing their runs out. Thanks for the upload.

Recycling is light it's easy to lift every bin, 2 theyre not going that fast ,3 there are 3 loaders so it's alot easier, look at the amount of bottles coming out, basically quarter full, don't be decieved, i know what fast is and the speed I'm talking about makes people don't wanna jump on my truck ever again, but only a few want to
