I began my federal law enforcement career with FPS in 1974. It’s encouraging to see that they have evolved along with the rising and changing threats to our safety and our freedoms.
PSO’s (Protective Security Officer) are the ones actually doing most of FPS work. There’s not enough FPO’s to cover all federal buildings. All FPS do is further enforce policies, laws and/or make an arrest if necessary. Their primary job is to oversee PSO’s.

Yes, they focus on anyone who came right out from the Airforce, Army or Marrines especially if you were Security Forces / MP. Also anyone with an associate degree in Criminal justice that has worked as Campus Police or Airport Police background.

The Federal Reserve is as federal as Federal Express and is Private own Bank. The only Federal thing that The Federal Reserve Security have is they are run through an FBI fire arms, self defense, and Arrest procedure training course for the Security Guard company that has the contract to provide protection.

I am with an officer. I worked through 911. My mother was the dress designer for JF Kennedy. My priest was father Kennedy. My brother works in the pentagon. I went with DHS with Thomas. At the time I was married to special forces. I went to see my brother Daniel. To me the attacks of 911 were personal. I was upset. I had no comprehension at the time how bad it was until I was there uo close. Prior to 911 we knew something was wrong. Our computer went dark and we were concerned. I called the police and they came over to my house. They said it’s nothing you have done we just have to get you out of the house. I asked then why. My house was modern. Built maybe in the 70 but it was built on the property of a plantation. Things had happened in the ground in the past. We would go back there and other families would move into the house following us. And call it home. The computer my children were using for their studies was a govt computer. And it was intended for them to learn on it and essential that they did. My so is studying to be an accountant. He was a toddler putting together a video of how putting putt goes to the moon. Many of his classmates would indeed go onto to go kites soace. It was a shared computer.
FPS officers don't do anything but walk around with their little dogs and then go sit in their patrol cars all day. PSO Officers (contract security) do more work than FPS police
@@mh3225 yea that's only for certain post, but they have a lot of post where they are hell of busy and doing constant security screenings for people coming in the building. (Former PSO)

Are you talking about FPS or PSO. PSO 2 years minimum security experience armed with baton and pepper spray pemits. Guess it depends on the state.
