    I was involved in a road traffic accident. Suffered open book pelvic fracture. Broke my rami. Split my SI joint and my inside tendons inside my pelvic harden. Now I got pain in my left buttocks when walking or twisting my hip while standing. I don't know why.
    I got symphysis pubis too.

    Hi, can you get a rami fracture from being transferred off of operating table on to the bed? I ask because this happened to me a little over a year ago after my shoulder surgery. Within 10 days post op I started realizing I was in severe pain in my groin. I questioned the situation and was told it could happen just by being bumped between transfers. I am now again feeling some twinges there. I was 58 at time of incident with osteoarthritis. Thank you 😊

      This is my situation now. I was in a car accident and sustained fractures in my inferior and superior Rami pubic. I'm really worried about sitting, standing up to bath and use the restroom because I was asked to stay on absolute bed rest for 6 weeks. I would be glad for information on how to move around.

      Hello @@renugahghandi2803So sorry about your circumstance.
      I moved around with crutches for 2 months and started walking without them in January. Although I still feel intense pain when I walk some distances. I had another x-ray 3 days ago and while the top fracture part healed properly, the lower part still needs time. I would recommend you use walking aid to move around and not put any weight on the leg.

    It seriously hurts in this area. I run about 9 miles every morning. I was finishing up running one morning, I felt a sharp pain in this area. after I had to suddenly stopped for 7 days after a 30 day streak. By the 7th day the pain was all gone. I succeeded on my first attempt back after a week (6miles) that’s all I was able to run, As the run progressed, the pain grew more, I was in terrible, unbearable pain. it gets too tight. I can't loosen it. My left leg seemed to get shorter with each stride. I can kind of feel me hobbling around the track, my engine had even more power but I was forced to stop It's not so much the pain thing, but the limited movement in my leg

    I had an incredible recovery after breaking my pelvis in 7 places almost 8 years ago (amongst many other bones in my body). I was already in great health and 28 years old at the time. With those factors and continuing to eat very clean, patiently practicing yoga, and maintaining a heart full of gratitude for every bit of progress, I recovered incredibly! I don’t squat as much as I did before, but I hike, bike, and manage my farm with plenty of stamina and no pain. So thankful!
    Doctor, I do have a question for you though. With a screw in the superior pubic ramus, is it possible and even likely to give birth to a child vaginally and naturally? I’ve received the opinion from one of my surgeons 8 years ago, but would also like to hear your opinion. Thanks!

      @@rvcool2646 i couldn’t sit for a while after the surgery. I was in a hospital bed for 7 weeks. All my flexibility was lost so I had to do a lot of physical therapy and still do plenty of stretching and yoga to this day 8 years later and am probably at 60 percent of my flexibility and I’m cool with that because I’m active 👐

    I am an absolute train wreck . Went to work " Carpenter " and fell 6' and landed on my butt/back .Intense surge of pain . But carpenters are supposed to shrug it off and get back to work . The pain has gotten so intense that I am pretty.sure it's some type of pelvic fracture . Had to quit my job . Years before I fell 30' and snapped my femoral head . Had surgery and they bolted my hip together and told me in five years you won't walk without a hip replacement . Avascular Necrosis . But I shrug the pain and 20 years later . In 2018 something else wasn't looking good . My thumb was turning black.. Drs told me It was a fungal infection . I shrugged off the pain . I googled and looked up UA-cam videos like this .I asked if this was melanoma . No . Don't Google . . Turned out to be Melanoma . Turned out to be the hot and spicy version . Stage 4 Melanoma . Amputation . I just can't get a break

    I had a bilateral pubic rami stress fracture in the army in 1990. It was misdiagnosed as a pulled hamstring for six months until a bone scan was done. I STILL have pain and it’s getting worse. Unfortunately, no one has any idea of what to do.

    • @evelyns3201
      @evelyns3201 Рік тому +1

      Oh my goodness. I had the same misdiagnosis, and it's been 4 years. Pain is not resolving although I've been managing the pain with a very good physical therapist. Unfortunately, it seems there might be some cervical nerve-related/nerve entrapment issues. I wanted to share this to possibly help with your pain. Perhaps you can find a doctor that can perform a nerve study of the sacral nerves (below the lumbar) and see how they're doing. I have a lot of leg, ankle and even knee symptoms that have progressed. Also, as a result of my injury (horse riding fall), I've been diagnosed with Si Joint dysfunction and was told to wear a SI Joint brace which should help with any instability issues for now. Best of luck to you.

      @@evelyns3201 Thank you! I’m glad that the therapy has been helping. Unfortunately, because this happened 33 years ago, and my knee issues were just diagnosed in 2017, it’s all become a conglomerate of sorts (bilateral pubic rami stress fracture has lead to bilateral knee osteoarthritis, which has lead to bilateral hip tears in my Labrums, which as lead to lumbar degeneration). I’m actually in Acupuncture, which has eased the pain.

    How do you treat someone with shattered rami bones? And how do they avoid gaining weight from the the various medications given to counter pain, etc? How do these patients exercise without causing themselves agony?

    • @_theplantkiller
      @_theplantkiller Рік тому

      You don’t gain weight from the medications. You gain weight from eating poorly during recovery which in turns slows down healing. And you exercise little by little learning to listen to your body very closely but still challenging it to gain strength and mobility back. I know these things from direct experience with my own shattered pelvis. Also, I have to admit that having a good surgeon is a big factor. Very thankful to say I had amazing ones.

I've yet to see anyone but an ER doctor. I hope that the pain subsides enough so that I'm not almost completely bed bound. Might anyone know the timeline of recovery?
