- GSX for MSFS 2020 has been out for a couple of weeks now and after the initial frustrations of the program, the flight sim community has once again come together to help. In this video we show you how you can have GSX work as it was meant to, with stunning visuals and realistic passengers & ground crew.

This is by far the hardest program to set up I've ever paid this much for any flightsim. I'm tech savvy and this program is still a PITA in so many ways. (love your videos and your voice, btw! you are one of the best!)
Not gonna lie I just spent an hour figuring out things. I've gotten the hang of it. They just need to iron out some annoying bugs like the vehicles disappearing
They need to enable a feature for you to install profiles with a one click solution. P3d/MSFS was never this complicated!
I just can't get it to connect to my PC . Any hints as to what needs to be clicked on manually ; ie any exe ? So frustrating
I love GSX. It's a must-have, even if for the pushback functionality alone.
I just wish it had tighter integration with aircraft and SimBrief with regards to passenger numbers, payload, fuel, etc.
It should be a seamless process for GSX to read the SimBrief OTP, and automatically load the aircraft by opening doors, and bringing in the fuel truck. Catering is cosmetic and thats fine, but everything else should be loaded correctly.
It gets the passenger numbers from SimBrief but thats all I think.
Somebody was saying that Fenix and GSX are teaming up so the fuel, cargo and passengers are the same!
Which means it will all be integrated with Simbrief, although now sure about Flybywire
@@JYang365 That would be epic. I'm sure FBW will follow. PMDG is where my concern lies.
@@FahdRiyami I think this came directly from a GSX Beta Tester (London Controller) if not then it would be British Avgeek
unfortunately it's a lazy port, I hope they dedicate some serious time to improve it
There's no need to edit the path in the .INI file, GSX won't read it, it will read just the filename, it's like this precisely to make it easier to share it. In fact, you might just left the filename of the .BGL, and remove the path altogether, it will still work.
For the "Exclude 3rd party button" to work the package name must conform to the standard naming conversion of microsoft ( developer-airport-icao-name ), those that don't respect this convention, will not be excluded automatically, but you can search by ICAO as well in the top right search bar. Also, I see you still have the Beta installed, best if you keep up with the latest updates.
I think this is really useful and important infomation. However, I think the manual needs to be clear of any ambiguity and be more thoroughly written to explain all the limitations of the program and what it can/can't do automatically and what will need to be done by the user.
Would also be really useful if the manual was available pre-purchase so people can see exactly what is involved to make it work as expected.
@@Easyjetsimpilot This was in fact in the manual, Page 46:
The name of the .BGL used to customize the scenery is listed in the [GENERAL] section of the GSX .INI profile. It will include the complete path valid for your system but, don’t worry, there’s no need to edit it out before sharing your work, since GSX will only use the .BGL filename, and will ignore the full path altogether, it has been designed like this exactly to facilitate sharing of GSX .INI profiles without worrying about different paths. As long the currently active .BGL matches the name referenced in the .INI file, the .INI will be loaded by GSX, no matter the path.
The suggestion to let users download the manual freely without having to install GSX is a good one, we'll do it asap.
That's great! I'm certain that people will find that really useful.
How do we know when there's an update avaiable?
@@francescoribeiro The "Release Notes" button in the FSDT Installer
yeah, no. I'll wait for version 2.0. Hopefully they can keep improving it. Thanks for the great video as usual!
Me too.
Came for the tutorial. It was a huge help as I just picked this up. That said, the tutorial doesn't start until approx. 4:30. Video could've been 5 minutes shorter.
I wish there was more emphasis on Cargo which is forecast in real life to increase greatly as passenger flights diminish. It would be nice to see lots of Fedex, DHL etc. trucks at Cargo Terminals. (I only fly Freighters).
And why would passenger flights diminish?
Because we don't all have private jets to fly around telling people to pay more for less to save the planet?
I've had a really good experience with GSX Pro, no dramas for me. A bit of tweaking required from time to time, but that isn't too much of a big deal.
At the end of the day it looks like a great add on launched far too early without proper testing. Will wait for a stable version to come out. Once again a great video from yourself. Your videos have solved many an issue for my msfs setup... thank you.
A year later it is still great idea but annoying AF too many bugs, not consistent.
I've lost patience with GSX and uninstalled it. It hardly ever works properly (apart from the pushback which, as you say, works very well). It seems to take longer to set it up than it does to set up a flight on an a320 or a 737. I'll try again next year maybe
your videos are always clear and useful. You're the best mate! Greetings from Malta.
This is awesome. Unfortunately, it is also the modern equivalent of a 1940s model railway setup in the basement, where for every proud hour of operation, there was 100 hours of glueing little trees on. One. By one. By one. ;D
Ahahaha awesome analogy :P been there done that, happy times.
Thank you for your informations 👍 top. But my taste for this add on is still a little „bitter“ like you said. For example : I bought the new airport scenery Shanghai ZSPD from WFScenery, and after landing on the airport and „wrap me to the gate“ my PMDG 737 rolling without possible stop through every airport building. Still most of the gates on London Heathrow from inibuilds get not connected at the plan and some things more. 10 times deinstallation and new reinstalling but still so many issues. But the idea of the software is pretty cool. happy flights
The idea is great. Implementation is sloppy, to be nice
@@KurtKnox yes, you ‚re right. I just tried to use gentle words ;)) for these problems
The 3rd party exclude function doesn't even exclude the FSDT airports
Lol
Because the FSDT airports make full use of GSX jetways with full custom models for each airport? Maybe, only maybe. If you prefer to think that the devs are stupid, suit yourself.
@@litgeorge don't put words in my mouth. Based on their release of GSX, I don't have much confidence in them. The jetways at their airports aren't all exactly the same so why would they allow GSX to replace them with jetways that are exactly the same?
I mean it isnt really 3rd party due to the fact that FSDT still made it, but im with you!
@@KurtKnox well, I thought every FSDT airport included custom GSX configuration files, with the correct jetway definitions for each parking spot. But hey, if I am wrong I will be the first to admit it and apologize!
Great tutorial. So for some reason the file location, the part in the video @ 12:29 is not there for me. What am I doing wrong ? Thanks for your help.
Great guide - and great help from Umberto's comments too!
Thanks all.
Barty
Pyreegue did a good job with this gsx file, when gsx pro came out, he went and made sure all the doors animate for the walking passengers so when they leave the terminal, doors open before they walk out and when done, they close again. Most if not all of the walk in gates will have these. Will be interesting to see if any other 3rd party devs that have made airports will go and do the same.
I second this. I have better luck with the Pyreegue airports than most of the others =)
Yes, Pyreegue is very smart, in addition to be an exceptionally good modeler.
using my home Airport i see nicee EGAA is my main airport :) i switched my GSX ground services to Swissport for extra realism, i got the editor to work ok for me ive got the passengers coming out of the terminal for every gate Bar 11 10 and 9 as they are bus and 22 is jetway
Thank you bro, I think maybe I will get GSX now
FSDreamteam Forum says you don't have to edit AFCAD location. GSX sees the added profile automatically as per page 46 of the manual. I tried it at stand 14 at EGAA with the newly made GSX profile for EGAA. I just put it into the correct folder in GSX and it works fine. No need to edit AFCAD location.
This depends on whether the airport devs have included these in automatically. If they have, great! If not, then you'll need to edit yourself or download a custom file.
This may be ok for Community Folder based airports. What about ones bought from the market place? I have the EGCC by Macco but cannot find the BGL file for that
Same
Yeah i think the creator of the airport fixed this so you don't have to do this in GSX any more..
By the way notice in that area where the passengers come from it says ARIVIALS sign, which would be incorrect, That would be departures area, the other where it also says arrivals that has an arrow on it that would be the arrivals, but the one where the passengers was coming out, that should say Departures LOL
just a little thing i noticed.
Thank You Gavin very helpful guide.
10:54 when I did this, it added a bunch of information, but no location linked. There was no location linked in the first place at all. Could u help me out?
Thanks for another inspirational tutorial ... as always, very informative, easy to follow, great tips... appreciated, a quick question, disabling jetways (15:15 / 15:15), what is the other panel (services) used for?
If your payware airports have airport specific vehicles with their own liveries, they won't be replaced by the GSX ones.
@@Easyjetsimpilot I see... trying to think if any of mine might qualify... 99% purchased via Orbx Central (all European) can you think of any particular example?
@@slicker55 none really. GSX liveries are pretty good at matching the airports they are at anyway.
@@Easyjetsimpilot OK fine, glad I asked, appreciate how quick you answered :)
What an awesome video mate thanks for sharing and yes you are right it is not the first time that free mods have saved a payware one
How about the Citation Longtitude? Does the refueling also work with it?
Thanks for the video! Curious as to how the file path works when using Addon Linker. All my addons are on a separate drive than MSFS, so any help is appreciated! Thanks.
I know from a realism stand point, yeah, sure, but I actually learned how to use like the Fenix A320s push back interface and can quite often push it right onto the taxi line, will be interesting to see how I cook with the PMDG 777, I was considering GSX just now, so I wanted to check some set up video and this seems like an absolute nightmare? Or just me.. well either way I’d rather sacrifice some immersion for less confusion on my face as I’d witness my ground services doin weird stuff 🤣 so I’ll see how it goes I guess, DXB to LHR tomorrow on the PMDG 777 is definitely happening though 😬
Wow! Thanks for this. I got lost on the procedure for changing the location in the ini file, so I will need to watch that again and perhaps document for myself the steps. I'm a little slow.
BTW - watching the passengers go to the plane after you set "Insane". They seemed normal and relaxed to me. None of them seemed insane. Perhaps security caught all the insane ones. 😄😄
You can skip changing the Ini file proceedure now as it no longer needs to be done.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Thanks. I did see that in their instruction manual last evening. So, what should be entered in that line now in the ini file? I assume the line remains but not sure how to change it. I downloaded a profile yesterday for KBWI and the developer just wrote "change the location, etc." in the line. Not sure what to replace it with.
Thanks again!
I think I found the answer. Just enter the name of the BGL file.
Great video, thanks!
Excellent video Really helpful Thank you
You're welcome.
Afternoon Gav. I brought GSX this morning and still getting to grips with it. Can I ask where you got EGAA Belfast Airport please. Cheers Martin
Thanks for the video. Departures look good but how does it work for arrivals at an airport?
The arrival and deboarding process is the exact same as boarding in reverse.
Thanks Easyjetsimpilot. Love your work and timing! You are simply awesome!
Just got GSX yesterday. I know some planes like PMDG 700 have some quirks with fueling etc.
Nice info! When I started buying airports for MSFS I got most of them through the markeplace. Now I'm outta luck as those airports don't install to the community folder and there are no bgl's to be found. I wonder if the editor works on marketplace airports?
I messed around with the editor at EDDB and it did work and also saved it. It's just a TON of work. Luckily I don't have too many marketplace airports yet.
There is an API coming into the sim to read out data of airports including Marketplace. FSDT is waiting for this to add support for Marketplace airports.
GSX Pro is cool but i wish i could use/edit dual/triple jetways for the heavies like in the P3D verison of GSX.
Are you better having a mod airport or just the default msfs one
Hey nice video! Unfortunately I have a big problem. My A320 FBW only loads 1/1 passenger and no more... Please help!
The pax numbers are based on your OFP.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Im not using simbrief sir
@@Easyjetsimpilot Is there another way?
Hi ! I've got a little question: Is it possible to ask GSX to use a specific stairs model ? (Only the one without integrated truck for example 🤔)
I know you can select certain airlines and Cargo loaders etc, not sure about stair models.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Thanks for the answer ! :) i'm going to take a closer look to the differents .cfg files and everything :)
Gavin.. thanks so much for this VERY helpful video.. just one question if I may? You say to exclude 3rd party airports… should I be excluding the upgraded Asobo airports like KSFO as well?
I'm not 100% sure on this. I don't believe so, no.
Yes you do. Any handcrafted airport needs to be excluded to avoid the same issue as with 3rd party in terms of Jetways.
Note that the ones from Deluxe/Premium cannot be read by GSX right now (an API is coming soon by Asobo to allow this), so GSX won't properly work on those since it can't read taxiways, gates etc.
thanks for info but if we don't have any scenary Dowloaded for an aiport which folder we have to put on ?? thanks !
You don't put it into any scenery folder.
Hi , the afcad path is always a procedure to make ? it seems that it's not necessary at all !! could you confirm ? thanks
No, not usually. The pushback are based on the scenery developers coding for AI aircraft.
How do i make gsx load the right amount of pax i have estimate pax unticked and have the right simbrief profile.?
According to Umberto, there is no need to edit the path. GSX will find the .BGL on it's own as long as the filename in the .ini is the same as the filename on your computer.
Didn't work for me, until I edited it
@@Easyjetsimpilot Understood. Just passing along the "official response". It doesn't surprise me considering that most of the functions in GSX have one glitch or another. It'll eventually be a good program; but it really was released way too early. Wishing Umberto would spend more time fixing it than defending it.
Regarding the jetway exclusion: It's not GSX fault. The reason for this is that ms marketplace airports are encrypted so it won't find them. Some external airports that got inserted into the community folder via symbolic link may to not either. And you don't need to change the afcad_path. Umberto said it will be ignored anyway.
but it is advertised as working at ALL airports
@@budguy21 there are several forum entries by Umberto before it released stating it won’t work with encrypted marketplace airports.

Great content!
This program is for "Fligth Sim X" or this also working with msfs 2020 "40 universiary"?
cant wait for waypoints for vehicles
Been trying for days to get the DC6_B to save settings. Works initially but when you restart it goes back to default. Other than that it works great for sure.
Bonjour la question que je voulais vous poser à tout le monde qui ont GSX pro pourquoi de temps en temps il ne s'ouvre pas et qu'il faut aller taper Taper taper à ce que ça se débloque comme un bug Start Couatl for GSX MSFS
With the latest version of GSX, it would seem that you don't need to enter the community folder path into the ini file. None of my "homemade" profiles has it.
Is there any way to install GSX in other disk instead of C:?
Yeah, I hope this can get better and they can improve the editing process.
I had my passengers walking on the roof of the terminal. 😂😂
Hi, how do I add voice comms for the pushback system?
They are included with GSX.
How do I turn it on because it just shows the text on the screen
Should be in the settings (from THE GSX menu in MSFS)
@@Easyjetsimpilot what button to enable?
Thank You Gav!!!
Learning loads and getting MSFS looking good and loving the flyby wire and Fenix aircraft. would like to get simsmart but for some reason i cant buy of the website due to error messages about it not being secure any help will be greatly appreciated
Hi Paul, please try this site for SimSmart www.a320perf.uk/
Works great most of the time. I got an error though on an airport, saying this parking is isolated, gsx aren't available, and the menu doesn't even appears, that has me puzzled
how would you set it up if you have your msfs2020 installed on your c drive but your add ons in a different drive? im confused
The file would be placed in wherever you have GSX has located the folder.
hello can u help me cause by my gsx pro dosent spawn bus idk why i dont use payware for edds
When i press "operate stairs" the stair operator changes to a new one and the stairs respawn. When i spawned in Helsinki, it had everything correct but when i wanted stairs they changed to China Eastern stairs.
Thank you 🥳👍
make a video on the yssy version
what plane is it? a320 phoenix? Thank you 💪
Yes, this was the Fenix.
by me gsx vehicles and passengers are stuttering how can i fix it guys ? few months ago i didnt have this problem
You no longer need to put the afc whatever path = anymore. It works just fine without it if you are using the steam version of MSFS.
I got GSX just for the push back and the Follow Me functionality, the only thing that bugs me, is it will not pick up my sound card and I have to install/update GSX so it picks it up, dont know why that happens, but hey ho and I got seem to get the rear door open for loading pax and for loading cargo
Great addon, but I am so confused in how will we know when updates are available, most addons I have I get an email when there updates available
Have to launch the app and see.
When you install the program, you get a «Live Update» icon on your desktop. Run that every time before you start the sim, and you are good to go.
Hi, wondering if you can help me. On some aircraft the stairs aren't flush with the aircraft door. Cutting into the door and generally just too high. Is there a way to lower the position once they are extended?
Thanks
Every time I put in the correct path into the GSX profile path, it keeps reseting the moment I edit the airport, send help
Shit thats the Video I’ve been waiting for 🙏 i always asked why these mods doesn’t work and that’s finally the answere
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Gav, great video as always, mines been pretty well behaved just a question on linking to simbrief, does GSX match the amount of passengers?
Yes
Nope, unfortunately it doesnt have simbrief integration.
Same for me. I have the integration, but got 191 passengers for the PMDG 738.
@@lu3a379 yes it have
sync with payload pmdg /fenix?
I'm downloading the profile however I don't see anything when loading into the sim. Do I have to activate it some how?
No, once installed in the correct folder in window, then it's installed and working. No need to activate anything.
Its ok, but it's now sending the fuel truck 3 times and no way to cancel the fuel truck coming, finished loading the aircraft including Passengers but couldn't pushback due to fuel truck still filling the aircraft. is there anywhere we can stop the fuel truck coming more than when we first order it? i'm in the Fenix A320
I tend to start the GSX boarding process and let it run, then once complete, I load the Fenix instantly via the EFB for its fuel and payload.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Ah ok so start the passenger boarding then let it run it's course ?
@@brettmaxwell1360 that's what I do. Use GSX just for visuals.
Great video as always! Do you know if this can work in conjunction with addon linker? I keep the majority of my files there to help the sim run. Would I just have to add them in and exclude third party scenery each time before loading in?
You could probably just exclude the jetways regardless if whether they're an active airport or not.
Is there a way to disable the voice? That is telling everything
Hi there. May I know how can I fix the passengers? As my gsx profile there's only 1 passenger boarding not as much as yours. I've tried to increase the density however it remain unchanged and still only 1 passenger boarding. Thanks in advance

GSX is not available for XPlane. It was a Prepar3d product
Good catch!
Great video
i really want to get GSX, but i'm sceptical on if it's worth the money.
I don't have a folder called roaming. Can you help?
what if i dont have that route in appdata how do i find it or download it??
there is no path when i m ake a new file in gsx so i dont know what to copy, do any of you know that i should do?
How do you run your performance? On DX11 or DX12?

I found the INI file that doesn't have file location in the file so just ignore?
*please help* Does anybody know how to change the jetways to a clear/windowed glass jetway, so you can actually see the passengers board the plane? Thanks
I got Latin VFRs jetways. Replaces all the defaults. Not sure how it works with GSX and their jetway replacement, though.
when i did this them gates wouldent show up and all the air stairs etc
i have no idea how to use add on airport profioles
I take it this is for MS store version only as Steam place airports in official steam folder so the address to copy and paste is different
No it should work with steam too. Just do as suggested in the video to ensure you have the correct path.
@@Easyjetsimpilot cheers Gavin, wasn't sure as alot of purchased airports are in my steam official folder and not community folder, not sure why it does that!!
Hello @Easyjetsimpilot, nice video. I have got to ask - what AI traffic mod are you using?
Thanks in advance :)
AIG traffic.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Thank you so much! I have heard of the mod, however people say it's quite performance taxing..
Has it been okay for you?
Great video btw, planning to get GSX next week.
How do you get the EasyJet stairs my guy? I HAVE FRONTIER STAIRS AND ITS BREAKING THE IMMERSSION 😂
GSX usually gives you the option when you call them.
How can increase the loading/boarding time?
very helpful. surely if you remove third party airports you never get the passengers in a jetway? or do you. would much prefer better pushback pre-plan which seems to elude msfs. as for my opinion of GSX, great potential, needs a near total rewrite, even the updater is counter intuitive, appearing to crash, but not really (updating 1 of 37 means 2 only!) and doesn't update anything (use the off line updater) . mess!
Passengers will still be in gateways if you have a proper profile for your 3rd party airport.
The exclusion just makes sure that the jetways aren't replaced by GSX, the rest of the functionality remains the same. GSX is not "aware" of the jetways, it just lets pax walk along a path, which sometimes leads them to float in the air if you don't have a proper profile installed.
Hi can u help me with my problem? I don’t know why, my passenger only 9 people can u help me with this problem?
The pax numbers are based on the aircraft weight. Or you can manually enter the pax numbers if you set this option in the config panel.
@@Easyjetsimpilot so I’m put the number of pax manually first, before I’m request boarding right?
Does anybody have an idea of an easier way to find the path of where your airport scenery is located? Rather then loading up the sim and GSX at the airport you want to use the GSX profile at and finding the location in the GSX settings… seems a bit long winded for every time you want to set a profile at a different airport. Thanks!
