I think right now it's mainly resellers buying on there but eventually they will recruit regular buyers and it will grow .. its going to take off in time
The #1 reason I'm not interested in Whatnot is because my ASP is $52-$54. I've watched so many shows and even the top sellers are getting such low sales numbers. It's cool for buying but I see people getting burned out fast. I make more money doing live events in my community, setting up a booth for the day and moving inventory that way.
Yeah people are really expecting good deals on there right now and like you said good for buyers tough for the sellers. I’m hoping with time a bigger audience grows on there and helps get the prices to go up but I thought $10 was a great deal and lol it was crickets 😀

Exciting news! I've just been approved as a live seller on Whatnot and am prepping for my first live auction. After watching some videos, I've decided to showcase old inventory-items I bought thinking they'd sell quickly elsewhere but haven't. I'd rather part with them than let them sit for another year. Nervous but ready to jump in, hoping for a great turnout and some enthusiastic buyers! 🌟🛍

Thanks for sharing. I’m a new subscriber. I think a larger audience will make a huge difference. Also buyers need to warm up. Starting items at a $1 or so for a few items. You have to warm them up. Just a couple little ideas in case you haven’t thought of them. Good luck! Nice to meet you! 💜

I don't see how anyone is "killing it" on What NOT most people want to buy cheap on there so really its just a way to move inventory not make money. Il send to Thred up. Good place to buy though
There are such good deals on there right now lol it’s unreal it’s definitely a great place to buy 😀 I’m curious to see how it changes moving forward once more people are on the app. I’ve never tried Thred Up maybe I should try that! 😀
It’s also good if you source at the bins. If you want higher bids you need more ppl in there

I was able to watch your show and I thought you did a great job. Items go so fast! At the end, I wondered how anyone could make money. Hopefully as the platform grows it will be a more viable option.

I've been checking everyone in on whatnot and even with a lot of followers. I think these inventory are pretty much either stale, from the bins because it's been selling so low which are good for the buyers. However as a seller, I can pretty much take my stale inventory to thredup and also their partner kits where i can get just like how much i would make in whatnot as long as you know what sells in thredup and the amount of money you make. Having said that, whatnot is actually fun. I like it as a buyer and of course i love the freebies lol
I just had my first one too. Sold $75. Not bad for the first show.
I know some people are doing thrift with me live show in store. They add $2 to the ticket price and then run an auction. It seems to work. So maybe keep the tag on there, add 2 bucks and run it if you don’t want to be in the store (which personally would be very chaotic for me)
I know I went to one of those shows where they were thrifting live it’s very fun! Definitely something I would consider trying!

That’s great very quick! That was my experience too!
I sent the application and did not include any of my social media platforms & no video/photo of my inventory because their form only accepts 10MB file size. It says you can send the photo/video separately but before I could submit the additional info, I received a denial email about 20 MINUTES after submitting my application.
My 1st show is next week and I'm scared to death..lol
I was to! After the first one or two I felt a lot better about it but it was so nerve racking at first! Lol
It took me 2 months to get approved for clothing

Wow! That is so confusing to me. I wish I understood how they go about processing applications. Some people get approved so quickly and I’ve heard other people saying it took as long as 3 months!

@PoisednPrepped Great video! Super helpful. Thank you. I am new to the Whatnot platform & been hesitant to start as seller. I've only participated as a buy so far. When you applied to be a seller, do they ask for your website or photos of inventory as proof? Just curious. I currently sell on ebay. Still learning Whatnot & was worried about the profit aspect since people tend to sell things insanely low cost. If I do sell, I was thinking of starting bids at $5 but worried that people have been so "trained" so to speak to buy from $1-$2 auctions. I may source lower cost items so I can list on whatnot... I am still deciding. Thanks again for your video. It was VERY helpful!
Yes I had to take a picture of my inventory and send it them. I feel like shoppers are wanting the 1-2 start auctions which can be hard if you don’t have many people attending your shows to help get the price up. I would start at $5 until I had more people coming to my shows 😀
How do we find out when you will be doing a live show?
Hi! If you follow me on whatnot it will notify you when I am having another show. It also lets you bookmark upcoming shows so you get notified when that person is live 😀
do you have to pay shipping? what are you allowed to ship in?
If I just want to buy on whatnot do I need to download the app? How do I know when an auction is taking place. Can this be done on PC or only on the phone.. Thanks for any info you can share.
Hi! Yes you just download the app if you want to shop and once your on the app it shows you all the upcoming live shows and you can search for different people. You can do whatnot on a phone a computer 😀
