Ok, ok,.... 5 years ago, but I STILL absolutely LOVED IT!!! So want to thank Kate and James for getting this beautiful work out to us. P. S. I so enjoyed the sax in the beginning here too. Lovely.
Brancusi always stands out. Nice video. Nice show. Wonder what Judd would have to say about that flashy presentation of his piece? The little Ryman is a gem . I like these gallery shows you visit better than some of the overwhelming giant museum shows.
Perhaps the title of this exhibition is not the most grammatically precise wording they could have used? My take is that Brancusi, of course, isn't an American, but rather, he developed some basic ideas and concepts about sculpture that a later generation of Americans were able to build on and develop into what became known as Minimalism...(?)
Sure. I´ll give them that. However it does show how superficial americans are knowing the fact they are inspired only by what they are seeing objectively without taking into account the subjective meaning of the object, which mostly derives from Romanian psychological landscape shaped by Orthodox Christianity and mythologies dated back to the Dacian eras.
@@jameskalm Brancusi spend time in USA and he definatevely got inspiration from there too. Also he is too big to be just a romanian peasant. Without USA ,he wouldnt have been who he is today.
why does everyone put brancusi's pieces in plinth's that he did not make. he made his plinth already why put another base. thats a literal defacement of the work that prioritizes its comodification over the artists original intent also andre is a criminal

"Constantin Brancusi's visionary sculptures exemplify ideal and archetypal representations of their subjects"
