For making this video we spent 4 days in testing, it took us 2 days in shooting (including night), took 2 days in editing (including night), and used over 300GB footage. I have tried to answer all the questions related to Mi TV 5X in this video, and if someone asks me any question which I have already answered in this video, I'm going to ignore such comments. We do all this work in a single video so that you can get your answers, not for you to skip & watch it and leave a question in the comment which is already covered in the video. All other questions are welcome 🙏🏼

I bought a MI Tv 4x back in October, 2020. Was quite pleased with the purchase with it initially. Some of the apps like UA-cam, Sony liv, prime and Netflix ran brilliantly, especially as a cricket lover watching cricket matches on Sony liv were an absolute treat but hotstar was quite average and chrome cast was extremely poor. Tried casting content with fancode and it was down right poor. Overall, I was quite happy with the buy but playing 4k content on UA-cam used to be struggle cause the there were noticeable lags while playing the Costa Rica 4k video even though the internet was quite fast at around 100 mbps.
Then…… After 2 years, the tv gave out, I was watching UA-cam when the screen faded to black and after reporting the issue to cx care it was ascertained that it was a backlight problem and since my tv was covered under the extended warranty, the cx care rep assured me the tv will be repaired free of charge.
So after 2 days, an engineer from MI called and told me that the repair will be chargeable, I protested that I was as used that it was still covered under warranty but he wouldn’t agree. I again chatted and called 2 different MI reps, both of them again assured me the repair will be free, they even spoke to the engineer on conference call and told him to repair it for free. Engineer called back with a senior rep who informed me that as I had purchased extended warranty from one assist, I should’ve reported the fault with one assist, even though I had purchased both the tv and warranty from MI home, offline.
Then the story changed, the cx care reps took a u turn and no matter where I had escalated the complaint or complained on social media, their answer was the same, they had asked me to pay 22k for repair. I had bought the tv for 26,500 and plus had paid 700 rs extra for an extended warranty.
I had purchased the tv on Sep 27, 2020 and it became faulty in just 2 years on 27, sep 2022. So please guys, be careful with Xiaomi product, especially if ur on a tight budget. Personally, never in my life ever would I ever buy a Xiaomi product again.

Nice review. I have learnt a lot from your comment. Very helpful. One point, when you are showing the motion blur or dimming test, I guess it should be observed physically and not over a video. Because, camera flicker, recording, the device you are watching this video ruins the test result. I noticed the motion blur test at the showroom looked much better and smooth rather than recording it and re-playing the recording.

Just my humble opinion as you said Redmi TV & Mi 5x is same , actually it’s not , I had Redmi X55 & now Mi 5x 55 , Redmi has color flickering issue , waves moving from bottom to top & poor audio , while Mi 5 X picture quality is really good Also Redmi has 8 bit panel but Mi 5x has 10 bit panel , they openly advertise as 1.07 billion colors , you may recheck , thank you

Great Detail review. But you are missing a huge point here about its color
--> Of course Sony, LG and Samsung entry level 4k tv are better.
--> for budget, This MI TV has lots of flows compare to other budget TVs that you have already mentioned in this video.
--> But as you said you are checking TVs on their standard mode and you are complaining about red tint but you can actually enhance or remove those tint as per you requirment.
--> Most importantly you are not adjusting your Tv wtih your suitable mode and your desired color enhancement
--> For me, I presonally Like more natural color and with Movie mode with removing additional contrast ench and other optimism desired setting, MI has way more natural colors than Hisense entry level, TCL, realme or especially Motorola TVs. Those TVs looks better in side by side comparison honestly but colors are way more unrealistic even in optimized settings.
--> And this is deal breaker for me, even in gaming mode MI Tv retains its natural colors while reducing res time.
Thats why in budget, for this kind of requirement, I would suggest MI Tv for this price point.
And If you are not into gaming than I would suggest Hisense Tornado which is far superior than its entry level 4k variant.
So I would say checking on your desired setting is way more important than checking it on standard setting

Sir, one thing that I have learnt from you is that the brightness of a TV is the most important deciding factor. I have a follow up question about brightness. For residential use i.e. a regular viewing distance of about 10ft, is there a noticeable difference in picture quality between, let's say, 280nits and 400nits/500nits?

Backlight Brightness doesn't translate to brighter screen, it means more colors coming out from the panel. What's the use of 10 Bit colors term when the panel isn't able to show even half? That's why brighter the panel, better the viewing experience

LG UP75/77, Samsung Crystal are good but don't look like a 2021 product and are non Android. Sony is out of common man's budget.

This is the first video I've watched from your channel and is totally worth it.
Great detailed in-depth review of the TV.
Ive been looking for a TV for my parents. They rarely watch HD or the OTT content.
Our 3 sony TVs were damaged within the 6 years and they're fed up with premium brands.
I saw MI TV 4X at store and seems to be fine for their requirement. They live in a small town so not all brands would have service access in case of any repair.
What alternate TV would you recommend in 50k range for a 55inch?
    Thank you in advance.

Well all the brands design their product for limited time period only. Almost 90% of the tvs nowdays last only upto 6 years. Theese smaller brands might last even less.

Also try to buy it offline, there might be a less than 3000 price difference, but you would get a 3yrs brand warranty for most tvs offline but you would only get 1 yr at the online market.

Buy LG UP7500 or Hisense A71f. And here’s the TV list of my affiliate links, if you can use them at the time of purchase then it will be a big help: bit.ly/3piyEFd
